Hi, really like your vid and would like to ask on 11:04 what would be the reasoning for bluffing with Q2s, 92s, 82s, 32s at that frequency without a fd?

Not used to this sizes schemes so think this first 2 where the hardest for me. What I thought was the hardest has being able to construct my range on the turn after the small size. About the question on A88, don't think its much about the value that we block but more about unblocking folds cause there check range contains a lot of heart combos . So we "avoid" bluffing heart but like QcJc will unblock folds mostly off suit Kigh high and also underpairs that check fold while still blocking some AQ,AJ and QQ,JJ. Thanks for the content

@@cg6433 oh right lmao folding out Khi certainly beneficial, but has more to do with sharing cards with our value bets. OOP is going to call down QQ more often than KK JJ TT bc QQ blocks our AQo value, so we'd rather bluff with a Q

Hi Josh, at 19:20 you talk about the KQss combo checking back IP on the 5s 5c 2s 9d 3d runout. You said that "holding two spades UNBLOCKs OOP's air". This seems counter-intuituve to me since if OOP is checking a fair amount of spade combos on turn then holding two spades on river would in my mind BLOCK a lot of OOPs air and weight it to made hands/ other parts of range. Am I thinking this through incorrectly?
@LessIsMore99
@LessIsMore99 11 ай бұрын
Basically, we don't want to share cards with our other bluffs in range if we have some semblance of showdown value. Our opponent is going to bluffcatch hands that unblock air in our range, so we have a hand with sdv and also unblocks calls.

It's bad that in these quizzes if you mess up one answer, they come in pairs 😂 There are some great concepts in this video that I didn't consider. Like the difference between 66 and 77 on Q2. I thought 66s blocks more bluffs but there's less 6x floats from the flop to start with.

On the first board versus which opponent type would you be going for the split 10% 50%? Are you trying like to get more value on the flop from your like [ Top pair - 2pair ] our more like having the small bet you're looking to exploit turn and rivers. I was playing around easier for me is just to range bet 25%/33% but was trying to think what would make me change to a 2 sizes flop strategy only reason I got i thought make sense was having a small bet on the flop might make go to showdown/realize EQ more often has OOP. Betting on IP being passive versus this line on future streets.
@LessIsMore99
@LessIsMore99 Жыл бұрын
Betting any hand for a small size will be just fine on this board. The idea wrt the small size is that 1) the board smashes the SB so hard that we need to bet everything, which means 2) we need a size that can accommodate our weaker made hands. Its also a big reason that you'll see very small c-bet sizings on Ahi boards (our overpairs are outdrawn by Ax).

TY Josh another excellent video. I think I am just a bit confused on your very last thoughts on the J7 vs. 93 combo distinction at the very end of the vid (44:27 and then onward). What was qualifier for J7 being "dusty" and 93. Was it the gutter from 93 making it a better bluffing candidate? We're you specifically talking about the flushing combos only? Thanks!

Last Example I think QT diamond QT of club raise cause we filter those suits on the flop for villain now they unblock more bet folds, we block some 9x with the T and have 2 live cards versus a big chunk of calling range. This last board i runned for my stake got diferent result cause of the rake we bet more oftne on the flop and on the turn we either raise equity our find unatural bluffs from Ax hands but think the premise is the same. Really unconfortable to just to find this unatural bluffs on the turn but if population over stabs and overfolds to xraises without having a good range construction iam just getting exploit easy by population. Thanks for the video!

Yeah I think freq of TT/J9s preflop for IP at different rake structures affects the OOP combo selection here

So by looking at the sims to me it seams that The Acehigh flush with the "mid" kicker check more often cause they block check backs of IP ( ex Ax6s) and IP more often Flushs (ex 6s3s) and unblock offsuits one spade hand that bet call a raise (ex KJ with a spade ( fd draw+ gutshot) ) while As Broadway does not block as many check back and blocks bets while unblocks IP higher frequency flush that check back the flop plus pair plus spade hands. (ex7s8x) . Did I miss something? ^^ great videos keep it up :D

Hi Josh, great video! I don't think I was quite understanding what you were talking about with the KJo and KQo hands at around the 46:00, specifically holding the Kc club. Why is it that OOP is bluffing the KcQx combo more?
@LessIsMore99
@LessIsMore99 Жыл бұрын
TLDR; KQo is so high up in range in sdv hands that the only way a hand like KQo makes EV(bet) > EV(check) is holding the nutted suit that blocks more continues than the lower suit

One thing I didn't articulate well in the video - the reason we have more x backs in the later configurations on something like T32r is due to how wide the IP PFR is relative to the BB. In a HJ v BB config where the IP player min opens, the BB will only be a pip or so tighter than the same player defending vs a BU or CO 2.5x open; yet, the HJ is opening less than half as many hands as the BU.

First things first , you're great also like your videos at RIO. I have a question when you have time, at 1:13:33 a bit confused cause Zenith free sim its the other way around A9 is call or fold and A8 is fold. Think it has to do with the bet frequency on earlier streets of the 99 and 88 combos. But in game, the A8>A9 as a bluff catcher makes more sense to me cause we unblock more potential bluffs.

Low board pairs are often close to range check spots BvB 3BP after x/r on low boards where IP doesn't fold pairs. You make a ton of trips here since you raise hands like A3o high frequency pre, so think turn check in second last hand is pretty standard from Villain

Do you use 6 different flop bet sizes in game? why not just make it either 25% of 1/3 pot because the ev between the two is probably so negligible. same but less so with 1.5x overbet v a 2x. just would help simplify so much... cool videos though
