Thank you so much for this video. My rescued dog came to me with a very tiny growth on his lower eyelid. I adopted him almost 2 years ago. It recently started growing rapidly. It has tripled in size over the past month. I know know how it is removed and how important it is that it is aligned perfectly when sutured. I am planning to bring him to an opthomologist for the removal. How long does the dog have to wear the cone for? I have liked and subscribed. Will view your other content too.

Thanks! Glad it was helpful. Most eyelids heal in 7-10 days, so keep the e-collar on for that time period. Thanks for rescuing!

This just happened to my 3 year old pug. It was the scariest experience ever, and i think her optic nerve was damaged. Her pupils do not dilate to light. It does seem like she can barely see, though. I'm just hoping to get a decent recovery on her proptosed eye.

My rescue cat is on Clavamox Drops for an arm wound. The prescribing vet from a vaccine clinic is not available for a refill. I emailed the Humane League but IDK how to get him there (I'm disabled). Any suggestions?

Thanks Dan. I have 2 x 12 month old dash hounds and one of them has retained his canines. I thought I’d allow him to get to 12 months to see if maybe they would come out but he’s actually now hitting 15 months and it’s stuck in their solid on both sides. It’s my first thing to do next year when the vets reopen… thanks Dr Dan

Thanks! My cat is on Clavamox Drops for a persistent arm sore he keeps opening. Google says no milk (calcium) nor red meat (iron). 🙁 Should I bandage the open sore? The Rx will last one week--not long enough for the sore to close up. IDK how to get another prescription--the vet just does low-cost shots. (He's a rescue.)

I've been paying $20 for the smallest little container of peg. And when I finally read the back of miralax I realized it's the same thing. So came here to discern that because I know my veterinarian wouldn't like me calling and asking if I could use miralax instead. This will save me a lot of money because the same price container in canada, I can get way more miralax.

I wished you were in California . I lost 4 cats since 2022. First from mammory gland cancer even after 2 surgeries it spreaded to lymph nodes; 2nd kitty a vet choked him and he had a heartache and died; 3rd kitty she kept on getting diarrhea and loosing weight, she would eat and dumps it out like cow poop and very very stinky, even with different gut medicines and labs, cleaning all her guts out procedure and inserting good bacteria too and still did not help,; night before she passed away I found a blob with ppl saying same symptoms in their pets like mine and it was epi..exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (she had every single symptoms of that) ,yet the vet who was taking care of her supposedly was a cat specialized vet never even did test on her fir that or even mention something like that; 4th kitty was my kitty who had kidney disease and was in subq, special diet, meds and still passed away. Now my other baby has very bad stomatitis and I'm broke after vet visits, he got twice steroid and antibiotic shots also and he is still in bad condition. Need help desperately.

My outdoor cat went to the vet today and got diagnosed and the vet showed me his inner mouth was so sore. Symptoms were my cat was avoiding eating and when he did he would gag on the food and make pain noises, so we thought it was a bad tooth or throat problem. He would also use his feet to pull food out of his mouth and lost weight. Treatment is an antibiotic paste in the mouth every day for 10 days then we have to take him back to check his mouth. Our Vet said the same as Dr Dan in this video, it's not a quick solution and can be an ongoing problem. Also no dry kibble, soft food only like chicken, tuna or wet food pouches.

I watched Veterinary Secrets and I went on reddit and they said Apoquel kills the dog’s liver and shortens the life span of a dog and they can get Topical Steroid Withdrawal. I’m scared to give my dog anything honestly am I being paranoid? And I hurting her more than helping her by not giving her this apoquel that I’m debating on?

I agree with the insurance part, but. At a certain degree, what the hell is insurance even doing. Any time my dogs need care I go broke paying for their visit. I'm paying way too much a month for insurance for high deductibles. My dog needs his Front canine extracted and all the vets in my area. Don't give payment plans and want upwards to $1800. To do so. I constantly feel like vets are scamming me. It's like they don't actually care for my pet. Oops, sorry you can't pay for your dogs. Health needs in small increments over time. Oops, sorry, sounds like you have to pay it all in full right now. Don't have the money? Guess your dog has to suffer. Oh you have the money? Good, There goes half or all your savings

Doc! I need ur feedback. Please. My 14 week old puppy went number two and was literally gel like with what I would describe as 1/4 inch white very thin worms. Around 5 or 6 actively moving. I imagine this is not a sufficient enough description for you to determine the type of worm but could you venture a guess? I was thinking WhipWorm. Any information would greatly be appreciated!🙏🏻 Ps. Not sure how relative this might be but I live in central Florida.

I have resorted to 25 mg Benadryl for my 2 year old 50lb female Boxer's sporadic but seldom when a trigger causes her aggression to calm her. I hate giving it to her but I am desperate. The next door neighbor dog threatens her through the fence which can set her off. She demand barks, fits, rages at me, has gone into a frenzy, over excited and attacked me twice full on at level ten. A huge snow shovel sets her off as well as lawn mower, and pushes and punches me with nose, she guards house all the time inside. It helps with these fear terror fits and helps her to recognize me and surroundings during episode. She has never attacked anyone, socialized, love people and all dogs. She is gets overstimulated by too many things. Am I hurting my dog?

I probably wouldnt use benadryl as a prolonged medication for her behavioral symptoms. Poor dog does sound very stressed I think maybe talking to your vet about other treatments.

My cat had to go to the vet 10 days ago because she was limping a bit. She's had surgery 2 years ago of her knee. She is really an anxtious cat so they gave her gabapentine 2hrs before the vet. I dropped her there and they were going to take a xray to look at her knee. They called me 4 hours later! So it took really long. All this time she was there. They said everything went well and that she was less anxtious. Did pick her up and came home. She got pain killers for her knee and had to stay in a room for a while (she normally is an indoor/outdoor cat). I noticed that she did go to her litter box quite often. She is normally going outside but since she had to stay inside I placed the litter boxes for her. I also noticed that she was more vocal, especially when going to the litter box or when she was inside. Noticed that the litter where she urinated was much darker but was really difficult to see if it was bloody or not (because her litter color is blue-ish, gray-ish and when it dries it gets darker). But it really differt from how it normally looked. Much darker/brown. After a few days I was going to wash her blanket in her carrier and wipe also the carrier. I had put it directly in the garage when she came home from the vet. When I took uit the blanket it really smelled strong and it also was sticking to her carrier. You could not see anything from above. When I looked at the other side (at the bottom) where it was sticking I really was shocked. There was a big strain with blood and urine. So she urinated blood at the vet at some point and they turned her blanket upside down and put it back in the carrier. They did not notice me and they also did not take actions! When I saw this I immediately called to the vet but got the assistent saying that the vet would call me back tomorrow. I was really freaking, because it all made sense right that moment why her pie in the litter box was so much darker and why she was going so much to her litter box. The next day I was called by the assistent and they said that I had to take a urine sample of my cat and bring it over. I did so and the urine was light red. Obviously really bloody. Brought it to the vet and they tested the urine for crystals / bacteria and infection. They said that they could NOT find any infection, bacteria or crystals. So it was not a urinary infection. But they found blood cells which they already expected cause the urine sample was red. They said that it probably was coming because of stress. So I asked again, did stress cause a urinary infection? The answer was no. The stress could cause the blood in the urine. I found it weird because if there was no infection, bacteria or crystals, they should have done more research right? I was already giving her Meloxidyn because of the knee for some days, they said to keep giving that because it was also good for the pain for the bladder. I got Zylkene (for the stress) and also diet food for urinary and stress. We're now 4 days further and she stopped drinking water since she is having the diet food (wet food). But she still pies more frequently then normal and still really dark (bloody). She's only 4 years but I'm really freaking out now. Don't know what's causing the blood in her urine and the Zylkene/Diet food/Meloxidyl did not do anything up untill now.

We went 6mo's of little Cali suffering before my vet figured it out. The key word's we're that her poo was watery big and pooping a lot. Then, on the day I told my vet, her poo was yellow, and then finally, it was the beginning of recovery. The vet put her on a prescription of Pancer Vet powder. She has gained all her weight and energy back, no more vomiting and loose stool, and she has a normal bowel movement. She gained all her weight back. Oh, and no more eating her poo. We also changed her food to less fat and to one with grain.

My cat had FIV and FeLV and we couldn’t cure his tomatoes, so I said let’s pull the teeth. The vet told me that it only helps 2/3rds of healthy cats. More thank likely the FIV was causing the stomatitis. We tried to course of antibiotics, the first time it took 4 days for it to return the second time it was almost over night the day after antibiotics were done. And worse than the first time. it came back to aggressively, the vet told me we needed to stop his pain. So it was on Monday. He was only 2. My heart is broken and so is his brother cat. I break out in tears watching my other cat and i miss my little man so much.

We just had our big guy into the vet yesterday. He’s got a swollen wrist and limping, no other problems really. We did an X-ray of his front legs and it doesn’t look good. Doc said it could be Valley Fever, which is common in the area, but it also could be bone cancer. Assuming they didn’t do a chest X-ray since valley fever would show in the lungs too? Anyhow we are waiting on results from valley fever test and praying. We just did one a month ago but it was negative. I never thought before that I would be hoping my dog has valley fever.
