Another great review and one I was looking forward to seeing from the left handed perspective. I really appreciated Matt's comment about this ball being good option for low rev bowlers. Also enjoyed the dig on the left not seeing the transition 😂. Looking forward to next release and I'm waiting until the end of the year before I make my purchase. So far it's down to HRP, Intense Mindset, and the Hammer Effect to be my asymmetrical pearl ball.

I have to say this was the funniest ball review I've seen but also the most informative. As a left handed bowler I'm happy to see more reviews of equipment thrown by left handers. All three of you did a great job telling where you were looking and aiming for down lane which helps me understand the angle your playing. Awesome stuff and I look forward to more reviews. Also AVB needs some shots in there too!

I feel like it should stay like it is, we don't need to know. Your reason for it is the same reason against it, it won't actually help the average bowler prepare, so why release it? You're second point indicates they should release it if it doesn't help pro players score more, but that sounds like a reason against it too. The third point is unfortunate but again it doesn't seem like anyone is really helped by knowing it ahead of time, and it doesn't fix the practice timing issue at the open so that doesn't really win me over either. I think knowing the pattern ahead of time will only help a tiny subset of high end bowlers who have access to replicate the conditions in their home lanes, I can only see it as an unfair advantage. A good bowler has to learn to adapt in practice, if that has to be on the day of, I think you do what it takes or you don't, but it's on you.
@LaneQuenemoen2 ай бұрын
Doesn't matter. You can put the Open pattern on any lane surface in any house and it will do you no good to practice on it because topography is never the same. Plus when in Vegas, weather has alot to say about how the lanes play at Southpoint or any other venue. When it rains, sticky approaches, windy slick approaches. Footing has a say on how you bowl.

I totally concur. For us guys flying in from the north east, we need to get information about how long the patterns are and their respective volumes. Based on this information, we can make educated guesses as to which pieces we believe matches up to the condition. I am 61 years of age and I refuse to carry more than 4-5 bowling balls. They're a pain in the butt to transport.
@MatthewWatches2 ай бұрын
I can't even imagine needing more than three balls to bowl on anything, I carry 3 and a spare ball. If you utilize proper adjustments, I find it hard to justify as many balls as some people think they need. I bowl league with a guy that brings a 9-ball carrier every week, over the course of the night he'll use like 6 of them and still bowl lower than me with 1 or 2, and still blame it on bringing the wrong balls somehow. No idea how many he has, but it's more than he can use effectively.

Guys = DeeRonn does NOT have to PTQ at the World Series ... that was reported by PBA after Sunday's show. And he is in the World Series players list - sorry if you checked before it changed. This was in my story Sunday night: The perks of the title for Booker include a spot in the main field at World Series of Bowling XV, which starts later this week, and the Tournament of Champions.

The saddest thing about the stupid USBC policy of hiding the patterns is that it misses a huge education and marketing opportunity that it had correct before the bozo took over the top job. Put the pattern out early, have an educational show/video with expert coaches and players giving advice on how to best play the lanes. Then offer coaching sessions to teams on the pattern to help them have their best experience. USBC used to have a Kickoff Show. USBC had Matt McNiel running team coaching on the pattern ... and Mike Jasnau pioneered this on his own before USBC did it. The result was that many teams had their best experiences ever at the Open Championships. And we had webcasts of notable teams and players. All of that produced positivity. The bozo running things now is an expert in producing negativity with virtually everything he touches.

Follow up to the rough start at league...143 first game 197 and 259. Tried to make the dv8 collision work thought I had a good look but didn't trust my gut. Switched to the Zen middle of second game and salvaged the 197 and then never looked back and crushed the lanes with that 259. I either need to send the collision in for baking and surface or it to donate it to the bowling alley. Its just unpredictable with the ball motion. Great show tonight as always.

I agree the pattern should be released ahead of the tournament. One change that was made after you created the video is there is now limited practice and BJ on Saturday. I am taking 70 bowlers and I had many conversations with Greg Moore, Senior Tournament Director, about how this went against the USBC wanting to make a fair tournament for everyone. Thankfully, he agreed. The issue is SouthPoint didn't want to give up their open bowling.

It was as ok for them to add those 9pm squads, but 9pm on a Saturday in Vegas is a little tough 🤣. The schedule should remain fairly consistent year to year.

I think a good way to get eyes on bowling is make it even more exciting. I think the field of players is very serious, intensely focused, poised, and.. Serious. We need more wild energy, people like Troup. We need EJ to rip his jersey on live TV. We need a few screaming matches. We need that Randy Peterson energy.. First ball is a strike, I want the bowler to go bananas and get the crowd riled up. But.. I am a long time follower of a photographer/KZbinr Jared Polin aka FRO Knows Photo. He's been on the road, working with a crew filming the tour. They're putting together a 'sizzle reel' to shop to potential buyers... Looking to create a F1 Drive To Survive, bht for bowling. If that takes off, Netflix, for example.. Money will come flowing into bowling.

I think another word you were looking for is drag. Now, Anthony, imagine thtowing a baseball. Easy, nice. Now, throw a baseball with a 2 foot length of string hanging out of the back. It won't even rotate, just from the 'air molecules pushing against the string' aka drag.

Yes... yes it is. 😂 Actually it's the bowler AND the ball. Yes, sometimes a ball can bail you out of sub- optimal shot. But for most mere mortals, there's little you can do to save yourself from bad ball reaction... if you're stubbornly trying to throw the wrong ball despite what the lanes are telling you, all the pinpoint execution in the world ain't gonna help your score.

Now I’m still new to bowling it’s not like I never heard of the sport before it’s just I’m definitely not a professional, but I am starting to play more open play more regularly, but in my personal opinion, why do bowling balls need to be banned? they are not a lethal weapon. They are tools for the sake of the sport. Heck this is not even NASCAR when it comes to height limits grip in the tires arro horsepower you name it. If any differences, they might be plastic reactive resin urethane Plus, the core be different. Of course the cover stock that could be solid hybrid or pearl, so what’s the big deal?

Awesome question and thanks for watching. Because of the differences in lane conditions that the USBC has allowed/created the hardness level of the ball comes more into play when you are bowling on the more difficult conditions. A softer bowling ball gives you more miss room than a harder ball.

Both are good, but fining is bad. Controversy creates drama, drama creates views, views brings in more sponsors. Now if only the PBA would change some of their dress code rules, they could have a much easier time getting more sponsors, but they want to have a jersey setup with PGA like rules to make the 50+ crowd happy. Start letting the bowlers to become "models" and more open to more total endorsements for both the sport and bowlers would be a win win for everyone involved.
