lol... how much was the land? That's the only thing that really matters here.
@DudeWeCanBuildItКүн бұрын
So someone who already has an acre couldn’t build this? Crazy how the video titles was “I built a home for $$$” and not “I built a house and bought land and developed the land for $$$”
@ActualMachinery20 сағат бұрын
@@DudeWeCanBuildIt My point was that even finding land is expensive these days. In places where its "cheap", its usually undesirable.
@DudeWeCanBuildIt19 сағат бұрын
@@ActualMachinery It depends on what area you are in. I paid 8k per acre. So for one acre and all the development + utilities, it could be done for under 30k.

How did the ply bead come out cheaper than drywall? Everywhere i look where i am at its way more expensive than drywall. You paid 29.78 per sheet and where i am the drywall is $10-$13 a sheet. Am i missing something ? Genuinely asking. I am in Denver.
@DudeWeCanBuildIt19 сағат бұрын
When you factor in the tape, mud, and labor to finish the drywall, it's much more expensive. You could do it yourself for cheap, if you want to. I didn't

I am in process of building quotes and several tell me a tubular steel building with the roughly 2”x3” posts is not recommended. 1 even told me that I couldn’t tell the manufacturer that I would be living in the structure. We are not required to have any permits but I also want something safe and long lasting. What is your opinion
@DudeWeCanBuildIt19 сағат бұрын
I'm not an expert on building codes, but if you're worried about the manufacturer knowing you're living in it, you could always use the building as a shop or storage first. The building is very durable, I live in Louisiana where we have lots of hurricanes and there are tube steel carports still standing that are older than me.

Quite sure I don’t agree with VERYICALY-HUNG sheet rock…. Drywall mud is a FIRE-TAPING process to prevent fires from being fed by air leaking…..hence 1 hour fire rating. Also prevents bug/pest intrusion.

@@DudeWeCanBuildIt regardless of the code the CHEAPEST product that you can buy that application is $70 before tax from Lowe's for 10"x100ft. In the video your using clear "low mil" or "thin" plastic and then you go over with a thicker "vapor barrier" One roll of each your already over $130 after tax and that's for the worst DIY grade material available to the general public. I can go around to every job site and new construction development and pull discarded lumber pieces by piece for 2 years, and then use it to slap a house together and it will have a cheap price tag. You can't even do that size foundation with a single roll of any one particular product. The recipe could have Jesus Christ written at the end of it, and a rainbow with a pot of gold at the end sounds amazing....except for the part where it's not REAL

at the 0:12 mark, some numbers appear on the screen when you say the word "dimensions." Those numbers are: 1920x1080. What does that represent? I crunched some numbers assuming they were inches and it came out to 14,400 sq ft. Then I assumed they were centimeters and that came out to roughly 207 sq m or 2,228 sq ft, which seems more realistic, but you keep saying 1500 sq ft, or 30x50 in one comment. Which is it? What part of the structural footprint is "shop?"
@DudeWeCanBuildIt3 күн бұрын
1920 X 1080 is a common video resolution. It refers to how many pixels are in a single frame. It's an Easter egg that we left in there for fun, it has nothing to do with the dimensions of the house. There is no shop part of my house. I will be adding a detached shop later on
@Frankengruvin6 күн бұрын
what is the total square footage of the project? In one video it seemed as if your dimensions for the slab was 14,400 sq ft. That seems crazy. You said "shop home" a couple of times. How much of the structure is the shop? Was it really as big as I think it is?
