Good morning. I complete the design in Illustrator. It just a simple cut out which is red. But once I open it in the UCP. It turns out black. And automatically starts engraving when it should be cutting. Why is that?

You'll need to make sure it's set to RBG (255 R, 0 B, 0 G) for line color. You'll then need to set the line weight to 0.003. The ULS platform will recognize this as a "hairline stroke" for cutting. I hope that helps!

@@caribowersock1709The actual value for the line width for color recognition is 0.001 inches or 0.96 pixels, but UCP does allow some wiggle room. At least that's what the manual says for the VLS 3.60 DT.

Wondering if I could import a Corel draw file and just set the speed and feed settings. OR are there a bunch of steps. Making clock parts. All drawings are made by students in corel draw.

I want to draw attention to the very direct method by use of Extensions --> Export --> Win32 Vector Print , this triggers UCP interface and pushes the drawings to there directly which is massive and doesn't involve using Adobe products whatsoever. I know its late to reply since it's 5 months ago. Get yourself the jetbest cleaning solution ink bags that goes into the ink side. run a Strong cleaning until you see taht all colors are no longer running. then put back your normal ink bag and run 3 strong cleaning cycle or until you see all your colors come back,. works everytime. I have been on 4 years strong with the same printhead. no problem

How do you engrave a 20 oz tumbler on the VLS 3.5 desktop? Like a YETI brand 20 oz tumbler, the tumbler has a cone shape and it higher towards the lip vs the base.

The laser has some margin for engraving outside of the exact focal length, it's referred to as depth of focus. If you're using a 2.0 lens you should be fine, 3.0 would be better because it has a larger depth of focus but I've used the 2.0 to engrave objects with a slight slope and it worked just fine. For the yeti tumbler just make sure to focus the laser on the middle of the tumbler, that way as it hits spots higher and lower it's staying as close to that focal length as possible.

Cutting is RGB(NOT CMYK) 255 R, G 0, B 0, A 255(or 100 depends on version) and stroke style 0.001, save as PDF and the open PDF in Adobe and Print to VLS and remember to enable "true size"

Because the visual adjustment of zero mastering is not accuracy. It just uses in the case of replacing mechanical parts

So when I go to stroke style and set it to .001 pts the line totally disappeared. I can go to view>display mode>outline I can see the outline but not the red box I drew. Also I don’t have hairline as an option. Any tips would be appreciated
