@@bggines_1260 I have yet to try yudane on steamed buns. And for steamed buns, I used low-protein flour and not-so-high heat when steaming. Hope this help :)

Milk tends to split if we are to bring it to a boil :(. It is best to add milk to the dry ingredients instead of water.

I tried it. Unfortunately it didn’t come through. It melted while baking and flat. I notice there’s no baking soda. Is it not necessary? What could have gone wrong?

Sorry to hear that :(. No baking soda or baking powder in the recipe. Perhaps the oven is too hot or the dough is not cold or firm enough to hold its shape. After slicing the dough, arrange it in the baking tray and pop it into the fridge for at least 20 to 30 minutes then straight into the oven.
