About 7 months since me and my lad did it,last week June 1st week July, never done any major hiking just odd 10 mile on flattish terrain, 14kg pack, no map just phone with dodgy maps, went wrong way several times and was ill advised to go round ullswater and over to Shap from Patterdale, hottest day too, stayed in Pooley bridge for the night before heading Shap, found the best pies I've ever had store bought full to the brim so was worth the days loss. Can't wait to do it again this year. I met some beautiful people along the way, my feet in tatters from end of day 1, lost toe nail and had huge blisters by the end worth it though

Good job sir. How is the ankle? As swollen as it was I thought you might have sprained it.

Essentials: Blister plasters, Sun cream, Electrolyte tablets, Map or phone with all trails, Trail running shoes rather than boots, Good walking socks. I should really do a kit video of all I took tbh

Enjoying your videos. Just honest filming and no 'gobshite youtube personality' stuff 🙂. I did the c2c a couple of Mays ago over 6 days, and you're bringing back some great memories, thanks. Whats your sun hoodie?
@WanderandRoam3 ай бұрын
Thanks 😊 Hopefully I will be making some more videos soon. The sun hoodie is an Amazon purchase £20 and search Tacvasen sun protection

Thanks for the 3 part filming of the coast to coast. Getting ready to do this in Sep and watching was really helpful on what to expect. Sorry about your ankle and Duct tape will patch your BeFree! You're very close to the Tour du Mont Blanc...just over the pond... I highly recommend that hike.

Altra Olympus 5 mids goretex my mates got those ones that go up to the ankle, I have been wearing Altra since 2019. Good videos, did C2C in September 2021 B&B’d every night with packhorse travel company. Doing it again on September 1st backpacking this time around. Looks like on some nights like this you got a B&B as you went along, I will try to do this.

Finally got round to watching this after KZbin suggested it the other week. I actually met you on the first day coming round Ennerdale Water and was the hiker pitched just along from you that first night (my kids loved seeing my distant cameo as you panned the camera round haha) great video mate and looking forward to reliving the trail through the rest 🤙

Was good to meet you. I probably wouldn't of camped where I did if it wasn't for you saying "you've come this far got to get to the end now!" Hope you had a good time doing it 😄

Well done mate. Amazing effort for your first thru hike! Most seasoned thru hikers would be chuffed with those mile days you did. Glad you had a great adventure and a strong will to get through the pain and discomfort.🤙🏻

Now I've seen pt.2, I have to subscribe as I want to see the final instalment of your epic walk. Oh, on a serious note, please walk facing traffic not with your back to it. Much safer on country lanes as you see the traffic well before it gets to you and you can prepare yourself if they are traveling too fast or too close to you. Cheers mate.
@drummingriffin7 ай бұрын
Well, you're not doing too badly for your first 'extended mileage walk' as you put it. I'm half each in the camps of 'admiration' and 'foolhardy' 🤪at you going for such a long trek without much experience. But at least you now know you can do it. I'm going to watch pt.2 now. Cheers and well done so far.
