As a Czech who's long followed Daniel Vávra and his political escapades, I find it funny that he is attacked as a woke person. He was always the most relevant anti-DEI and anti-woke figure in the Czech media. People probably don't understand that we are not very religious in the Czech Republic. We somehow respect our Christian cultural roots, but most of the country is agnostic or atheist. Hence, we often get into clashes with extreme progressives over our conservative stances on woke and diversity shit but then also get into clashes with Christian conservatives over our tolerance of homosexuality and other things that make Christians mad but are mostly ok for the average Czech. And then there is Daniel Vávra, who I would say is an example of the average Czech mentality.

He isn't being attacked as a woke person from what I've seen, but as someone who sold out to ESG money. Which would not have happened if Warhorse hadn't marketed KCD1 as 'based' and against the tide of wokeness of the time. Those who are criticizing KCD2 now mostly see the gay romance and inclusion of a black NPC as a betrayal, and let's just be factual here - they did go back on their words on those two topics.

bit of a side tangent about your remark of the use of 1403 CE instead of AD. using CE does not dispute the existence of Jezus, just makes the calender more "inclusive" (whatever that means). since 1AD and 1CE are in fact the same date, we can still argue that christianity won, since it is the globally dominant calender system.

Do you know why AD is used and why for example 1403 and 2025 is used for a year? People used CE, or "Common Era", as a non-religious alternative to AD, or "Anno Domini", which is Latin for "Year of Our Lord". CE is used to express the same periods as AD, but without the Christian reference. In otherwords people who use are triggered, in my opinion of the fact the Gregorian Calendar and the year calculations used to solve the rotations of the sun and accurate predictions of things like Easter is referenced. When I point out this ommition I am saying I refuse to change something for someones sensebilities even if they do or do not believe in Jesus existence. its more of a proper stance a correct stance than a religous stance. In other words CE is merely reinventing the wheel because one doesnt like how or who invented the original.

I don't know what's it all about - it's still available here in Russian steam (not even to mention that most people just switched their regions to Kazakhstan, which adds a bit of inconvenience when it comes to paying for stuff, but allows you to buy stuff that's not available here)

@@lavistro84 , Dzengrinder is wrong: no, it is not available on Steam in Russia; and it cannot be given as a gift to a Russian account. I have just checked it. However, it should be available in Kazakhstan. Changing one's region while living in another one is against Terms of Service and may lead to a ban.

@@dzengrinder , what happens when you log on to the Steam program (not the Web site) and try to look up Hogwarts Legacy, Kingdom Come II, Mortal Kombat 1, or Doom: Dark Ages? The first two of the aforementioned titles are not even available as gifts to at least two countries, none of which can circumvent the proscribed availability; and if you see any of those, then it might be that your region is neither Belarus nor Russia on Steam (it can be checked in the account details). Web browsers are a little more trickier and, indeed, may display the attainability of the titles in question.

From what im understanding with this game and the contorversy is that the main character can choose to be gay or bi or straight. People coming from the first game knew the character well and he was a straight white male. So some said maybe the bad guy protagonist is gay. But it sounds like your character can be in love with whoever they choose , which is way different then how the character was protrayed. So its basically nit sticking to the source material and being authentic to that timeline so to me i understand. I wasn't a fan of this game and Don't plan on buying 2 either. But for most for game they loved to change the whole character arc like changing ice man from straight to gay in xmen is a bit jarring and will turn alot of people away because this is not how the game started but now seeming like they are pandering to the moderne audience which is the reason people like this is because it wasn't pandering in the first game. But until the game comes out its hard to say how thisbone will do. Some games i can see the writing on the wall like veilguard and the saints row reboot. But those where obvious i just hope they stay true to the fans but this change if its true isn't going to help with sales and may put a stain on this studio for life. When its a up and coming studio and not a main stream studio people are not as forgiving. So we will see.

Going with his apparent love of history seen in game and scientific studies that came out after KCD1 and during production of kcd2. Especially if he wanted to add homosexuality in middle ages despite being uber rare for immersion sake. I try to keep a neutral stance in this. However there are testers that have came out and said there was no gay henry or forced scenes in thier playthrough. Its like when someone said kcd2 will have Denuvo and it got debunked. If the story is good and it fits nicely fine. Alot of the controversy is hearsay. He said she said and speculation. Not concrete proof. However with Daniel Vavra holding his cards close I stated it's best watch streamers and see. But it's understandable on his end attacked since kcd1 and our end seeing our games trashed. We are trained to look for it now even if it might not be there. Look at honor among theives. Good movie no woke, and pr said it is. They lost money for that. So jumping to conclusions isn't good either. My video is intended inform people so they can decide.

I still fail to see how choosing who you sex with is different than let's say who you kill or help. Henry is supposed to be a good guy fighting the bandits and murderers, yet you can steal, murder and be a bandit yourself, do they not stick to their source material? It is a game afterall, you can choose to do things yourself with the constraints of authentic/realistic world. You can choose to be gay the same way a medieval person could but there will be consequences just the same way if you kill and steal. Henry was straight in kcd1 but can now choose to try it with a man, that doesn't break any logic or realism just as he is a good guy that can choose to steal and kill and be now whipped, branded or even executed for his acts in kcd2.

Here's the way I see it Henry was a straight white male in the first game which was what a 40+ hour game that people played and enjoyed. You being able to be a bandit or a good guy has nothing to do with who you sleep with. Even in real life you can be a good guy and make bad choices that then make you a criminal. The problem that I see and I know im not the only one is why all of a sudden is he gay or bi or whatever. It wasn't a choice in the first game so people wanted it to stick to the source material. If it was the warlord or whatever, I don't think most people would even care. I mean, you could basically be bi in assains Creed Odyssey. Most people didn't care, but it was not a sequal to the game. It's its own story. Same with baulders gate 3, it's already added as an option. These, from what i understand, are brand new characters, not an established character. That is what I feel you are failing to grasp. Like ice man in men was a well established straight man them in the movie he is all of a sudden gay. Why because of pandering. If you wanted to make a sequal with a new character and say you can sleep with whoever you want I think less people would be upset because it's a new character not one that had a story you invested in to be like hey I know you spent 80 hours playing as my character now im gay. Wait what I had no idea when did this happen. What made you decide all of a sudden to be gay. To me games are about escapism and not real world politics. The who you sleep with nonsense I personally wish it wasn't even in games. I understand some people want to role play and what not but most games it's unnecessary. Now that fact that you can be gay in a world where gay probably wasn't appropriate for that time period. If they wanted to completely change a character to fit a narrative them they should of just made a different character instead of pandering is all I'm saying. To me this is what alot of us gamers don't want. I myself Don't want real world politics in my games .

@@abram6282 you cannot be a bandit in KCD1, if you ask to join the game assumes you want to infiltrate. Sure, you can pretend and do things that are out of character, but the game itself does not react to those choices, do you get an ending where Henry becomes the leader of an infamous band of bandits? No, you don't. You're just playing pretend in this case. It's not uncommon for players to fail to see this distinction, it's the reason why Oblivion was massively popular back in the day. You can pretend to be a pyromancer by only using fire spells, but the game itself won't recognize you as such.
