Yet he still tries to help. In the credits he is still with Chronus trying to find out what the spreading disease amongst the remaining japanese is. His taunt he inspects his hands, confused why his fingers are so long and boney. He tries to make a joke of his creepy looks, trying to lift the deppressed mood he created. Faust most likely got infected with the very disease he tried to cure.
