The new Faust is a lanky, depressed zombie who’s barely holding himself together. Both physically AND mentally. You can hear his skin stretching and his bones cracking with every step he struggles to take. He has to literally hold himself up with his scalpel like it’s a cane. Old Faust is a goddamn 10 foot tall cartoon character who plays with reality like it’s made of putty.

Lore Wise, from what i've heard, in Xrd, Faust basically had Therapy that helped him from his depression from the Original Girl's death, but in Strive, Faust Learnt Zato-1 was the cause of the Girl's death, and he basically spiralled into the zombie we see in Strive.

He's still guilty about the Original Girl's death and wants to atone by saving Delilah (Delilah accidentally makes a giant information singularity so Faust makes an adequately sized door to just *put it somewhere else*). He exerted himself so much that he falls apart, going back to "square one."

Faust is my favorite charachter in fiction (well one of them) Few things to note: Faust has always been depresed (confirms in dialogue with elfelth) he tried to hide it by being goffy but most people who hide their depresion behind the mask ussualy break at one point His ultimate is him clearly wanting to help you (after he knocks you down he thinks you are having panic attack therefore he wants to help you with a wheel chair but he accidently speeds up) Most of his taunts/animations are him trying to be funny but he just cant do it. Faust regreats his past thats reson for his paper bag He is wearing robe worn by surgeons ussualy (might represent that he is back at square 1.) One fun fact tho: Faust's theme in strive is fill of refrences My favorite "messiah wont come" Refrencing his GG1 ending where people hailed him as mesiah after that he dissapired "never to be seen again" Well anyways, faust is pretty damn amazing.
