Is your figurative work done with Underglazes before glazing? What’s your process? Great work

It is a textured roller that I impress a wet clay slab with before building the body of the mug.

I am so jelly I wish I could be king and seeing these views as well. You have the perfect life, reminds me a lot of Cape Cod up near Eastham. Love the colors and do the platters sell well, I know you said there for friends and fam but still curious.

Not all the pieces were for friends or family. The mugs and platters are for a gallery on the southern shore of Newfoundland

they're beautiful! When you do a celadon like storm or rainforest and then seaweed at the top, do you coat the whole cup with the celadon glaze and then seaweed over it? Do you brush or dip the glaze? Thanks.
@Dollfacepottery5 ай бұрын
I brush the celedon over the entire outside and then brush seaweed over top

Wow wow wow. Stunning glazing techniques. You live in a gorgeous part of the world. Which provides you with so much inspiration. I am impressed with hand built mugs. I'll have to scroll through your content to see if you have any how to make videos. Look forward to more from you. Happy glazing and keep those hand's dirty. PS the refire pls tell me the reason why and did you add more glaze second time around.

Please don’t be offended but if you just wipe your lids and bottles so there is no glaze to solidify you will find it easy to take the tops off your glazes. Loved the video, thank you.

I’m not sure why I’m just finding your videos! Love you and your work!! I have a question about the starry night combo. Do you coat the entire mug and then layer the blue hydrangea on top of it or do you do each separately? How many coats of each? Thank you

Always 2 coats for each and I cover the entire outside before applying the blue hydrangea

Love them. That muscle shell is stunning! Great results. Do you have a video on making the whale and baby mugs? I have lots of time to watch videos, lol. Loving yours as I grew up spending sooo much time on the coast of Alaska. I wish I could make more marine style pottery, but being landlocked in Utah, it doesn't go over as well. ❤

Great that you are visiting this summer. In the summer, my work can be found at the Craft Council Shop and Pantry, 155 Water Street, St JOHNS, or at the Baccaliu Gallery in Hearts Content, or at The Colony of the Avalon in Ferryland. Both Hearts Content and Ferryland are about an hour’s drive from St JOHNS in case you venture further afield.

Thanks for sharing 👍. Helpful hint for opening stuck glaze lids...dip the bottle upside down in water and let it sit for a bit. Also reduces dust as you open.

Thank you so much, the only glaze I’m missing is lustrous jade. Any suggestions on how to replace it or should I pick it up next time I go pottery shopping?
@Dollfacepottery6 ай бұрын
I would experiment on a test tile with something else you have, maybe textured turquoise, or emerald falls, or vert lustre, or iron lustre, just to see what effects you get from one of those first.
