Even on the easiest of modes, Witcher3 remains the GREATEST GAME EVER MADE! It's the in-depth character, dialogue and story and of course the mesmerizing ambiance of its cities and environment.

Thats why I play every game (exepct strategy games) on the hardest. I see it as the same everywhere. ITS THE ONLY WAY, becouse of "understanding the game" youre forced to use everything that you can and thats how you should play every game in my opinion. Yes, its hard, but it can be done with patience and learning

I loved playing on death march. It challenged me to make a ridiculous build that effectively made geralt unkillable so long as I kept adrenaline up and used that one decoction that makes stamina use heal you.

Normal is boring. Play every game on the hardest the first time every time. Death march isnt even hard either. But then again im a souls player 🤷‍♂️.

Most good games work this way. Harder difficulty should force you to be more creative, it shouldn’t just make enemies hit harder. I used to avoid hard difficulties because, even if I could play it on hard, I thought it was going to take a long time and be very annoying. But I’ve found that playing a game on hard difficulty allows you to explore all mechanics designed in the game to help you. Very different game from Witcher, but the original Halos were rightfully famous for this. Playing Legendary made the enemies smarter not just stronger, and you had less ammo for your favorite, bread and butter guns forcing you to use new mechanics. Finding a way to use every weapon at your disposal brings out the best in a well designed game.

Thats kinda true, by the books you see that Geralt isnt Superman, and witchers are experts in fighting monsters, not only by strength and reflexes that is superior than a normal human, but in creatures knowledge, so they prepare and plan every battle with proper oils, potions and signs. And it's know that even small groups of humans can kill witchers, especially in ambushes, Gerealt himself was "killed" with a pitchfork. When playing on easy you really don't need any of that, you can pick and win every fight and contract. But a disagree that playing on Death March is the only way to enjoy it, The Witcher 3 has a fantastic story, a live world to explore and remarkable characters and choices, for me playing on easy you will get 85% to 90% of the experience, the other 15% is the Grind part that many players find annoying or boring, I like it, but I know that most people don't like it, and I would enjoy this game on any difficult setting and be happy with it, because everything and every quest feels well written.

I did one playthrough on deathmarch and it was incredibly rewarding to finally defeat the wild hunt at the end. The navigator would kill you within 3 seconds at the beginning of the fight if you were standing still to down potions, and eridin didn't care what buffs you had. That was back in 2018. I've been doing another playthrough on normal this year and I noticed that when you get to the hearts of stone expansion areas and the level 30+ enemies the game ramps up in difficulty in terms of enemy damage and tactics. Makes you really glad you upgraded all the oils and bombs especially Northern wind.

I do find playing on death march more interesting, that's for sure. And I only started it up recently, and only for the prologue area as of yet. I can beat it, but I need to be much more careful. That is rewarding. For me it always was a story though, but I suppose that because of this focus on the story I could never replay the game; main story was pretty similiar each time, not identical, but a lot of its length was the same, and because I got bored with it do to playing it for few times, I couldn't play the game for side-quests either, if that makes sense. Now though, when game mechanics themselves are more of the reason to play, I can play it again. And this time, I will complete every quest there is to.

I agree that Death March allows you to get the most out of the game, but I think that you're finding the value of the game in a very very different place than most of us fans. The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt isn't a 10/10 to us because 'it makes us feel like a witcher' but its the writing, characters, and tough moral choices. These are the stars and main focus of the experience and it's concerning how after your first playthrough, even on the Story And Sword difficulty, you took no notice of these things. Not to mention the games other draws like the world, incredible attention to detail, atmosphere, exploration, etc. Maybe you're one of those gamers who doesn't care for storytelling or immersion, but then I'm suprised you ever even tried this game out. A quick google search will tell you this is a narrative and exploration focused game... not combat or difficulty. Glad you like it now though, it's just for a strange reason. It's like only enjoying Fallout New Vegas because of it's VATS system or something... Also I hate that stupid immersion-breaking lion armor so much

I dont remember at what level i was playing Witcher 3, probably medium. I only finished act 1 tough. It was fun, it was good, but somehow didnt grab me enough to continue. Overall i do think right difficulty is super important for the enjoyement in games, both to easy and to hard can be game breaking. I remember poeple saying Xcom was to simple, when in truth they played on to easy difficulty, so they werent pushed to discover the depth of the mechanics of the game.

If it requires a higher difficulty for you to role play as a Witcher then my friend you do not know how to play role-playing games. No matter what difficulty setting it might be, one should always be in the the Witcher mindset (while playing the Witcher 3). Play Witcher 3 for story and characters. For difficult boss fights go and play Souls games and Eldenring.

Great video! 👍🏻 I've gotta say, although I agree with you on the point that the highest difficulty setting provides (experienced gamers) a unique playing experience, and is immensely rewarding if you complete it. That is true for all games I've played. I disagree it should be the only setting The key for me is the experienced gamer part I've added. If that was the only setting, you'd never introduce games to new players. I'm not claiming to be great at games, but I'm an experienced gamer. I like you, started on what I thought was 'normal', and for the first few hours at least, maybe more, I found it about my level. It took me a while to get used to alchemy, potions, oils etc and the overall strategy and each monsters move patterns. Sure once I'd got used to it and started to fix my perk points, I quickly scaled above that and I needed a challenge. But if Death March was the only way, you'd never bring in a casual gamer who just wants to enjoy the story and game and probably won't put in hundreds of hours, multiple saves, different build styles using different school armor etc. It'd be a closed shop. And we should want new gamers coming in as the more the better When I first started taking gaming seriously I hated how certain communities looked down on new, less experienced players. The 'get gud' mentality etc Like I say though I enjoyed watching your video, keep it up 😁

Nie mogę się do końca zgodzić. Jeśli chodzi o walki z potworami- zgoda. Geralt powinien znać swojego przeciwnika, używać olei, eliksirów i znaków, żeby wygrać. Strasznie psuło mi to immersję.

This is a hot take lol, for me I totally disagree but I appreciate the take nonetheless. What's fascinating is for me I went exactly the opposite route - I started on normal and was so damn frustrated and didn't like the game, the I changed to easy and I LOVED the game. Just goes to show that different difficulties match different people and why including different difficulty levels are so important

Strangely i find a lot of people in the comments that disagree with you. I am 200% on the same page as yours, even on death march after some time in the game the feeling of danger starts fading away, and I think that feeling should be one of the most important things in a game where you are impersonating a man killing monsters. I hope they are giving the sense of danger the importance it deserves for the witcher 4

I loved the game, they took some stuff away that made it MUCH harder than i thought and as infuriating it was sometimes, i was there for it. Kraven was a FUCKING MENACE he had NO BUSINESS being that big of pain in the ass but still, im there for it he made me really think on the go. Venom was a MONSTER, i kinda felt that his fight with Kraven was a bit too long since he was supposed to be such a monster, he shouldve bodied Kraven given how powerful he was/felt. Now there was some cringe in the story but there are always ups and downs, i like that miles and peter face their demons and learning to get past it was REALLY good plus i like how peter takes a bit of a back seat as he starts becoming peter more than spiderman.

I’ve probably played the Witcher 3 from start to finish about 5 times and my first 2 play through were on normal and I loved the game. But when I played on deathmarch and actually played it like a true Witcher somehow I loved the game even more. If you love this game but haven’t tried it on deathmarch, do yourself a favor and give it a shot it truly enhances the experience. And I’m not one of these guys who needs a game to be difficult to enjoy it but when we play the game on normal there’s a whole section of the game we didn’t interact with and it enhances the combat which is the weakest part of the game.

I disagree. The witcher 3 has many mechanics like decoctions and runewrites that are simply a pain to deal with. Even gatering i gredients is not fun. When a full on contract pays you 300-400 and the ingredients to cwrtain higher portions and oils cost more, its just not worth it at that point. Even if i do have the money, going around the world asking merchants to collect stuff is bad gameplay. And the fact that you have to buy recepies is stupid as witcher should know all that. Moreover to game is too clunky to warrant that level of punishment for mistakes. If you want to be as hard as dark souls, be as smooth as dark souls. I think the broken bones difficulty is good but death march accentures all the games flaws.
