I went with the CB dual weight for my Bus, I'm going to use CB solid shaft stock rockers, but went with Thorsten Pieper valve adjusters for when my build starts

The Thorsten adjusters look like better quality. I am ditching the ball adjusters I got. 💩 they just seem cheap to me, and I don't like the possible failure point.

I like to use a cago strap over the 1-2 side and block under the 3-4 side to keep the engine in place when i torque it down. Really like this build series your doing here.

I got about 4 thou on mine for endplay. After your first run in it will settle in to about 6 thou so don't sweat the endplay.

@@VWBaja I can't add links. KZbin will delete them. That book on how to hot rods vw engines, has some info, and samba has more information on how to increase oil pressure, volume, etc. EzGZ has nice tips also.

Oh, yep, when I got this new 26mm pump I watched the EZGZ vids (and others) and I have port matched the oil holes to the case and radiused the pump ports internally. She should be all set. The cover plate getting blocked off was a surprise though... thought that would match the pump better out of the box (it is a kit). I could have done more to that cover but didn't want to grind on her too much.

@@billhaneline7498 I did, watch at 21.29.. I mention it. I had it on and off a half dozen times, torqued, ratcheted no change.. Keep watching, I eventually figure out what the problem is and solve the problem in future vids. 😎

I forgot to mention, put the cylinders in a small bucket with distilled vinegar for a day or so to remove the surface rust. Before honing the cylinders. Only put the rusty part of the cylinders in vinegar only.

I’d sell the cam or give it away if you paid next to nothing for it. Honestly the cylinders and see if you can get them smooth. Don’t worry about staining as long as it’s smooth. If you can’t hone them out, keep the pistons and toss the jugs.

Sell the cam. Hone the cylinders and save them. The rings won't make it, that far up in the cylinders.

And, I need the money to buy a new truck for my daily driver. My F150 is an 08, nothing wrong with it, just time to upgrade. I was thinking about buying a late 70's Ford 4x4 Truck.

I know I may be going a little over the top trying to get it "perfect".... Being it's my first build, this is how I learn what is what. But the tools are a little off, and the parts are off, and I need to know how far off. (OCD) haha. All those little things being off add up to BOOM.! or knock, knock, knock, knock... rut ro raggy.
