Very nice, you did a great job so far. Quick question, how did you add gear oil after you installed the pulling hitch? The original cover has a port for adding oil but not the pulling hitch.
@MarkieZook2 ай бұрын
Where did you get that pulling hitch?? Or did you just have to weld that drawbar on yoirself? I really like that idea.

That's a decent kit and a good price too. You do nice work. I've torn apart several of these over the years and found that most of them die from that bushing on the bendix side wearing out and a magnet getting destroyed from it. If someone came up with a kit with a needle bearing in there, these starters would last forever. Interesting idea on putting lube holes on yours. I just use molygraphite on mine but I like your idea better. You do nice work. Looks great and it'll probably last a long long time. 👍 BTW how did you clean the parts. I used an ultrasonic cleaner with a little bit of Dawn. Works great.
@therenaissanceman53115 ай бұрын
@@jonmyers8046 I usually just use a degreaser on the parts and a wire wheel. For electrical parts I like to clean with WD40.

I have a 782 and just want to be able to pull a Boat Hoist out of the lake and sometimes it gets stuck in the Mud. Is it safe to build a cover for my back axle similar to yours and bold it to the back? I am worried that the force may pull the bolts out of the casting and ruin the axle or are they built to withstand say 2,000lb of force? Thanks. Nice build going on there!

Im following you on shaving the head to raise compression, but.. By milling the head larger that makes the cc's bigger and thus less compression. isnt it? So spent more to be back to stock (somewhat'ish) is th e extra "flow" that beneficial? I have a 341 i am doing and trying to learn up a bit

I have a 1949 Agricat loader. The hydraulics work great, but the steering clutches will not disengage as they are supposed to, and the mechanical drive has no power even in low. Someone has put a 8hp Tecumseh iron cylinder in it, and it bogs down real easy. I wonder if the pullies are the right size for the drive. It lifts high enough that I could dump it in a medium sized dump truck. Any help or info is much appreciated.

What hp range you thinking you pushing? Stock cam in vid #4 or you put in a a less aggressive cam from vogel?. I have a 126 with og 12hp block so no frame widening needed at cost of smaller flywheel. I'm running stock cam,std bore,polished&de burred rod, polished valves with rucut and lapping but I went with valve pocket and deck blending you could say crazy but not too crazy,1inch carb spacer from mwsc 1.2in and blended it with intake port,#26 carburetor with choke deleted,filter adapter,mouth blended smooth and venturi slightly enlarged,same story on and #30 carb. Head I sanded down pretty much flat so at least .50 as your head has more material it looks like in part 4. .25 copper head gasket from mwsc to pair with head. Your build is very nice and looks stronk
