Hi john i never went with the bergamot flavouring. I ended having a ebike accident so im naffed up with a broken rib and a banged up shoulder and collar bone. I had to switch to ciggis as the injury is at the top of my lungs so its really painful coughing fits if I smoke the pipe. Talking about cigars my favourites are casdagli, daughters of the wind- sabino they are about £20 a pop but a very pleasant way to spend an hour. Havana house factory robusto are quite decent too but quite alot stronger than the casdagli

Kohlhause, Kopp & Co bought Rattray. They in turn were bought by Laudisi and the name changed to simply Kopp. So Rattray is made by Kopp in Germany and is owned by Laudisi, an American company. I have Old Gowrie, but haven't tried it yet. Never had the original. From the reviews I've read, the Germans have been pretty faithful to the original. So you might want to pop for a tin and see if you agree. I'm finishing up an old tin of Red Rapparree. Then I'll try the new tin I bought. RR is the only Rattray I smoked back in the before time. A pity that. But that's how it was. But as noted the German Rattray is supposed to be pretty faithful to the original. And just pop in when you can. I enjoy your thoughts and rambles. After all we're pipe smokers -- who needs an agenda? Just don't disappear for a year. :)
