Oh boy here we go Because you are so handy and able to do this yourself, I highly highly recommend you take those bearing and race numbers and go on Rock Auto, plug the numbers into the "search" window and purchase the equivallent Timken or National bearing and race. There is a world of difference in quality, in fact, I'm about to undertake a cargo trailer build and I will swap the brand new Dexter supplied bearings out for Timken, I wouldn't even think about running the factory supplied Chinese bearings and this has nothing to do with Chinese products in general, I have owned and operated an automotive repair facility for 50 years and commonly used reverse-engineered Chinese starters, alternators, AC compressors and have had fantastic results, but their bearings are junk. Period. I've seen countless failures. Sorry for the rant !

A bit of dirt and dust won't hurt anything. But shade can throw a wrench in solar production, and being off-angle certainly reduces solar production. Some people build prop-ups for the panels while parked, but most just eat the reduced production because flat-mounting is really easy to do. Also, wiring dissimilar panels together can cause reduced production, depending on whether it is series or parallel and the specifications for each panel. When wiring in parallel the voltage specs for the panels have to be very close to one another, and when wiring in series the current specs have to be reasonably close to one another. The best overall solution is to get rid of the shade, meaning mounting the panels on stand-offs high enough such that no shade is thrown on them. And maybe make a little front-piece to reduce wind resistance while driving. If you can't get rid of the shading, then you do have the option to wire each panel into its own dedicated charge controller. This will be a bit more wiring and need three charge controllers but then the panels won't interfere with each other. -Matt
@toyhaulenАй бұрын
@junkerzn7312 Thanks for the info. The panels are very close in specs. I kept the original Jaboni panel and added two Renogy 175 watt panels. I suspect that Jaboni was using Renogy panels. Maybe someday if I upgrade the panels I will make them adjustable and raised higher. This is the 1st time I have really looked at the amps, watts, and volts on the app and researched results. Thanks!

Man, I love camping in Quartzsite during the Arizona winter! Easy drive from Phoenix and so much room to find a quiet spot for yourself. I skip the Chevron and go a little further to the AMPM for fuel/beer/ice. Coyote Fresh Foods has a hot counter serving lunch that's always been pretty good (fried chicken/meatloaf/etc..). Silly Al's has pretty good pizza and always seems to be busy. If you have time, take a drive to nearby Bouse and visit the Roadrunner Market for fresh produce (the Coachman's Cafe next door isn't that great and I'd skip it after getting a bad burger there). Anyway, I'll be back at the Q this winter and maybe see you out there too. Cheers! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL / WRXY843

@peterkunka2694 I am sure I was over my paylod by about 100-150 lbs, (didn't get weighed). I saw a Toyota Tundra towing a 32' 5th wheel and family of 5, had to be way over his payload at the park. Even saw a couple of Rams with racks and kayaks in truck bed towing 30-32' trailers. Thanks for watching!
@peterkunka26944 ай бұрын
@@toyhaulen Best way to know for sure is to get weighed. I have used the CAT Scale app several times to get weight slips (solo camping with an empty fresh water tank while campground camping vs boondocking with my wife and a full fresh water tank). It's also interesting to get a weight with the weight-distribution hitch set up, and then disconnect the WD bars and get weighed again... the WD bars distribute several hundred pounds of weight off of the rear truck axle and moves it to the trailer axles and truck front axle. Our 2023 4WD F-150 with the 3.5L ecoboost, 10-speed auto, and 3.55 gears is rated to tow 12K lbs. Our Cougar has an empty weight of 5,800 lbs and a max GVWR rating of 7,200 lbs. After getting weighed, it's about 6,300 lbs empty fresh water tank, and about 6,800 lbs with full fresh water tank (54 gallons). So, we're in pretty good shape with weights. I also tow with the Equalizer WD hitch and Firestone airbags for extra stability on the highways. Enjoy the trips (we have a few coming up soon) and I'll take a look at your other videos. Cheers!

Consider getting rid of the wire nuts and getting a couple bus bars, that are the covered type. Also when wiring using 6 gauge, consider 4 gauge and use welding type stranded wire instead of the grade of wire bought I think you said Autozone. If you still have issues, consider using a Victron Energy Blue Smart IP22 12-Volt 30 amp 120VAC, Single Output Battery Charger NEMA 5-15, Bluetooth give you the ability to program for a rebulk mode, and does allow you to better setup for lithium.
