Who's here in 2025?

Dude I only ever got into comics at 38 just recently because of the Last Ronin. TMNT universe. I got W0rld Tr33 and when I'm hearing about things like Doom Patrol, Filth and The Invisibles for the very first time. Feel like I've been living under a rock. I need to consume all of this and really take my time with it.

I hate in prequels how everyone was connected ("OMG bruce lived with two-face!") and how everything had meaning. Bruce should go to an elite boarding school where he rubs elbows with some early incarnations of the villains and hears about a secret society, but he's kicked out for fighting or acting out by doing bad stuff like jason todd would do. he goes to a boarding school in bloodhaven that caters to kids with issues or something, he decides to stop being a difficult kid and aim his anger/pain toward people who are wilfully evil. he meets other early incarnations of villains, (he meets early riddler in a mathletics competition with another school, etc...) one day there's a murder on the campus and it ties to the secret society from his other school. it's revealed the elite school uses the skull and bones society to find prodigies and bring them over to work for an organisation that is tangentially connected to the league of shadows. Ras Al Ghul shouldnt be seen in this show, maybe in an episode Bruce sees him from a window boarding a helicopter and Ras looks at him or something. Harvey should be a duplicitous friend or demonstrate early signs of mental instability (maybe he talks to himself a lot).

If there is a god (CW exe) listening to this podcast, even now after it was broadcast, listening to both Kevin and Paul talk about a Smallville type Batman. His parents are killed, then after getting bullied in school to were Alfred who in Batman cannon was an ex British S.A.S commando teaches Bruce to fight, and after 4 years of high school, he goes to college and how he not only trains every fighting style while learning in class on how to become the world's Greatest detective. I'd watch the shit out of a tv show like that.

This is priceless stuff and as a Scotsman, hearing Morrison doing "a proper Scotsman accent" at 2 hours 43 minutes into this goodness...that was the highlight amongst a trove of highlights for me. If I could roll this podcast up and smoke it, I would 🙂

Interesting that Grant talks about the short life expectancy in Western Scotland and explains it as poor diet, then five minutes later talks about the presence of nuclear submarines nearby but doesn't seem to draw the connection between the increased cancer rates and the proximity of radioactive material

Morrison's been a favourite of mine ever since Zenith every week in 2000AD, but yeah, his run on 'Animal Man' was jaw droppingly good. Added to the Vertigo imprint giving creators an opportunity to own original content, that was one of the best moves DC ever made. And letting Morrison loose on American mainstream comics was great for the industry because whatever title they put him on, he raised the bar for that title.

without this podcast, i never would have become a christian. i was inspired by this podcast and grant to dabble in mystical experiences and magic. i had an expereince similar to morrisons and as i dug deeper on a long twisting journey, it lead me to Christ and God. it all started with this podcast

Funny enough them being carriers didn't kill the News Chopper 5 pilot if you listen on the radio he says he can't risk another street landing and says im running a bit late there was an... incident. Meaning he was mostlikely bitten. C130 pilot its unknown what happened it could have been a malfunction or the pilot turned.
