I would have put pretty hardware on it. You do a good job, just not my taste. Everything is very plain. Thank you though. Your videos are nicely done!

These are beautiful. Watching again three years later. Going to try an alligator "leather look" on top! Hope you are well. Be safe.

Looks great, however, I'm not a fan of the distressed look. Would have like it all black without distressing.

I have a whole set; buffet, table, China cabinet, and six chairs. The entire Depression Era sets sold for $98 per a newspaper ad copy I have. I am going to refinish mine leaving the tops and burled trim stained natural, painting the rest distressed with country blue with chalk paint followed by wax.

Makes me wanna go to Ikea and get those unfinished dressers and just clear it. Lol, but really you can have a lot of fun with unfinished wood. One thing I would've done is give it some dark bronze handles.

This is beautiful!! 🙌 I have an old pine desk I've been wanting to do something with, and I didn't know this was what I wanted until I watched your video😀 You've inspired me! Also -- you have one of the best recording voices I think ever. It's just lovely to listen to you explain the steps!

Regarding white coverage. Here's a story containing a tip. When I worked as a painter for a cement figurine co. Parts of figures painted white always required two coats. Since this was piece work number of coats matter. More costs equals more time potentially less money. Since craft type paint was issued i can't say this will work for all paints but stands to reason it should. The tip: I found it I added a small amount of gray (craft paint) to the white paint (in bottle) it made the white more opaque, it did not change the white to any noticeable differance. Result only one full coverage coat acheived. The other painters could not understand how I could get away with only one coat of white. I was able to complete a tray of figurines in law as time a made more money. By the way I did till the other painters my tip.

This was a helpful video overall. However It would have made it better if you had included video of how you repaired the bottom edge of the side and the missing corner of the drawer. Turned great! I'm hopeful I 'll be able to make my manufactured home kitchen and bath cabinets look better.

Also, save the old cardboard you take out. So that you may use it for measuring out your new pieces to pit in.
@stormysharp97073 ай бұрын
Plz do not use a heat gun. Literally all you need to do is get a damp paper towel or damp cloth, lay it over the old cardboard, let it sit there 10/15 mins. The cardboard should be wet/damp (not dripping wet tho) and it scrapes off sooooo easily. It takes maybe 2 mins to get it all if, if that long. I use a sharpened putty knife thingy to scrape everything out. After i have removed all the old cardboard, i scrape it a bit more to remove as much old glue as possible. Then i take another damp cloth and scrub the drawer down. Let the drawers dry good afterwards and you're good to go. Its really not that difficult. 😊

Question of anyobe can help answer please do!! I have a yellowy pine piece and will paint parts, then leave the natural wood color on the top.. Will using a 220 sandpaper and then polyurethane clear satin keep a somewhat natural wood color? I dont want the wood as light as this; i want it just slightly yellow pine and wondering if just a 220 sand will give me that look?
