Part 1 of your video was on point, but part 2 I feel was stifled by your inclusion of mixing up events between the original game and REmake 2-3 (which played out differently to 2-3, like the tram scene now being a subway). Also the blaring horror Retro-wave music drowning out character dialogue didn't feel like it fit the tone of Resident Evil (especially the scenes with HUNK, which made it feel like a dance party). I would have used OST from Resi 1-3 and Outbreak for the entire part 1-2 doc (which you did do for part 1). Last note: if you're gonna do more Resi docs or any other docs, please don't cram in gameplay segments where the character takes forever to shoot something, it just pads it out and makes it mind numbing (like the scenes where you showed Leon killing zombies in the basketball court, but you cut through most of the RPD killing zombie moments, which was weird when you could have cut all the fights).

I cant believe this, it took 26 years to figure out it was all Spencer's fault, and now that hes passed away, there will never be justice...

This reminds me of a budget late-90s/early 2000s student documentary about something none of the big companies are willing to cover, and I mean that in the best possible way. I can imagine in-universe, this doco causing a national media shitstorm and only getting a limited theatrical release (part from lack of funding and part because few theatres are willing to touch it) I feel like I’ve hunted down one of the few locally available copies at a small VHS rental and popped it in.

1:38:00 To this day, I still think the opening movie in Outbreak to be the most artistic Resident Evil has ever been. The music, the direction, it was so ahead of its time. That sequence alone trumps the entire live action anthology. I still remember to this day popping in Outbreak for the first time into my PS2... ah the good ol' days. Great inclusion. Nice video.

The design of Raccoon City always felt so fun and comforting to me and i couldnt put my finger on it when i first played them decades ago. As an adult i think its because the Japanese level designers placed very japanese-esque commercial district alleys into their idea of a very new england-esque city and then placed it in a region of the country that they mistakenly thought was lovecraft country-esque haha.

This was so hard to watch. So hard. In 98, I was watching wrestling and working in a chemical plant. Not at once, but you know. At age 38, divorced and free, what was there for me to worry about? I never heard a word about it or what followed. The second WTC attack floored us all 3 years later, and all this was, if not in Raccoon City, forgotten. Our country went to war. That's all I knew. Time passed quickly for some, slower than tolerable to others. We saw global news at night, in half-hour segments. That is at least all I could take. CNN and Fox waged their own war. How were we to know anything? Then it began. This division in American culture where we couldn't talk to each other anymore. Left versus right, fist fights turning into rumbles, then riots...man, all I really had to cling to was the distraction of sports and video games. Shooting Nazis, escaping a town where "my" daughter had been kidnapped, a town that used to be a resort but was now a place of nightmares... they called those "survival" games. With a liberal addition of horror. Played long enough, and you'd get so involved, and it seemed so real that you'd dream of being there. I sure am glad I saw this. Well, parts of it anyway. They really hid it well. My thanks to you and your gallant, intrepid researchers. Now, all I can do is pray.

Its crazy how awesome and deceivingly complex a story the Japanese made about a completely different country

In the games we always (most of the time, not in outbreak and such) we get the perspective of extremely capable and confident characters usually with special training, but i've always wanted to know what normal ass people thought of the world they were living in and what they thought of a real life zombie outbreak actually happening and a whole city nuked by it's own government. This documentary helps put me in that headspace easier, thanks for that!
