Oh man, these look way too hard for me. I play on Semi-Pro and the CPU aggression and interception just kills me I'm not very good at this game and the out of the box settings feel like CPU guys are just moving at another speed entirely. I don't know the strategies or 2-3 vs. 1-3-1 no idea, I just like a nice casual game. But I don't understand what the settings do. Rookie is way too easy but Semi Pro is a huge challenge and Pro, just forget it.

cpu players wont fight... any fix to that?
@Hockiwi2 күн бұрын
I think ea managed to fix the fight frequency bug that made players with a never fighting frequency actually not fight ever, which is a good thing but annoying for those of us who love line brawls. To get non-fighting players to fight you will need to do a roster edit and change the fighting frequency to sometimes or rarely, set to a higher level if you want a high chance of them fighting every time they are challenged.

Hi great video! I am having an issue with the Fatigue Recovery as the players don't seem to recover even after using the other 3 lines. I know the speed burst burns the players out faster but the recovery time is too long. Any pointers? Thank you
@HockiwiАй бұрын
This Slider Set is tuned to longer games 10-20min periods, you will need to micromanage the players energy, try to avoid using hustle unless you really need it, if you're playing less then 10min periods you can drop the Fatigue Effect a few points and raise the Fatigue Recovery a few points, I'd try 2-3 points to start then jam a few games and see how it feels then if its still drains to quick give it another tweak and repeat until you find the sweet spot you're after.

You should make some goalie sliders for be a pro. Always seems one way or the other not enough goals and not enough shots or loads of shots and too many goals
@HockiwiАй бұрын
I tend to tweak the sliders as I play through a Be A Pro career, and will be posting an updated version of this slider set tuned for the 70-80ovr Be A Pro players. A lot of the changes needed to make the goalies and shoot/pass tendencies better requires tweaking the individual player rating, Tougie24, TacTix, and SnipeNScore make some custom/updated rosters with better player ratings and shoot/pass tendencies.
@UsernamlessАй бұрын
What should I use for penalty time scaling and coincidental penalty time scale? Also is hitting and passing assistance needed at 0 for the sliders or is it personal preference?
@HockiwiАй бұрын
It will depend on what period length you use and how long you want the penalty clock to run, time scaling is for changing the speed of the game clock during a penalty, if you play with 20min periods then this won't change anything, but if you use a shorter period length then 6/6 with make the clock speed slow down to real time but 1/6 will keep the same pace as the rest of the period. With the hitting and passing assist it's partly personal preference but mostly to get rid of the near automatic passing and hitting that the EA default sliders have, with the assist at 0 it makes for a more sim feel than the arcady feeling default sliders.
@gogglebits2 ай бұрын
wayyy too tough to receive passes lmfao. i shouldn’t be bobbling damn near every pass.
@Hockiwi2 ай бұрын
With the default sliders passing is basically automatic, these sliders are much harder, try holding LT/L2 as the puck gets to the player they will square up to the puck, if you are playing Be A Pro your player will get better at receiving the pass the more you do this, also don't touch the right stick just let the animation grab the puck.
@ErikTwork3 ай бұрын
These are some of the best sliders I've come across. However, I do have one issue, and I'm not sure if this is on purpose. The fatigue effect in BAP especially is very quick. My skater has maybe 20 seconds on ice before the bar is empty. Now it does seem to help when you get your endurance level up, but we all know it takes forever to get those xp points.
@Hockiwi3 ай бұрын
With these sliders you really do need to manage how and when you use your energy, in the setting check if you have auto hustle enabled, this will drain your endurance very quickly as it tends to make your player skate at full speed all the time, auto hustle and back skating I make sure to turn off straight away. You should find you don't need to skate at full speed unless you are on a break away or chasing a loose puck.
@ErikTwork3 ай бұрын
@Hockiwi I did hear about the auto hustle, but I have not seen it in the settings. The only one I found is the auto back skate, which I did turn off. I will have to check again for the other one.

@@Hockiwi Hello my friend, since the new update the sliders don’t seem to be effective anymore. Is it possible for you to readjust them, please? We're averaging over 60 shots per game, which seems way too much to me 😊
@Hockiwi2 ай бұрын
@richardcolin9200 hopefully its just a bug, I noticed in the early release the slider settings needed to be reactivated before every game when playing season or franchise mode, if you go into the game play sliders and check to see if the active slider set is the custom sliders don't change anything in the sliders just switch back to the NHL 25 default slider an look to see if anything changes when you switch back, if there is no change to the sliders when you switch from your custom set back to the default set then it should reactivate your custom sliders when you reselect them.
@BraydonHighlights3 ай бұрын
I haven’t applied them yet but I want to stop seeing so many body checks, I like to play realistic, will these settings for “Checking” stop that so much?
@Hockiwi3 ай бұрын
With these sliders I've been getting an average 30-50 total hits per game, the combination of the checking sliders and attribute effects at 8/10 or higher makes a big difference on the hits made by players with a low body check rating. If you find the checking is still higher than you are looking for I would recommend turning down the aggression slider 2-3 points then play a handful of games see where it's at and repeat if needed.

What period length should I use for a play now game?
@Hockiwi6 ай бұрын
I like to play the full 20min in be a pro but only 4-8min in franchise, really it just comes down to how long do you want to spend playing each game, I'll lower the penalty and injury sliders by 5-10 plus increase the CPU difficulty adjustment slider to 2-4/6 for the longer games
@Usernamless6 ай бұрын
@@Hockiwi one more question what sliders should I change to get realistic scoring on 20 minute periods in cpu vs cpu games? I did one cpu vs cpu game on superstar with 20 minute periods and the score was 2-7 and each team had 70 shots
@Hockiwi6 ай бұрын
Some games will blowout regardless of the sliders, key is small tweaks here and there plus let a few games play out before making too many changes as it could just be that one game. Small changes to things like shot power/accuracy, goalie reactions/screen persistence and player attribute effects can make a big difference. The shots taken have more to do with player shoot/pass tendencies, you'll need to edit players to change that.

To be completely honest I haven't touched franchise yet this year, but I usually run 5-8min periods with most settings the same as be a pro (screenshots are on twitter, a link is in the video description) but I will add some penalty scaling maybe 1-2/6, with injuries off so I can sim through most of the season without 'fixing' the line up all the time. I'm more of GM when playing franchise, I like to build and then watch how they do simming most of the season and watching the rivalry matches plus playoffs (if we make it lol)

With these sliders on Allstar I get an average of 40-50 shots combined, but there are a few things you could try, I would start with Attribute Effects at 10/10, Fatigue Effect at 80, Recovery at 35, Goalie Save & Cross Crease Reaction at 85, Deflection Reaction at 75, Aggression at 55, AI Learning at 2/6, CPU Strategy Adjustment 1/6 and if you want to stay on semi-pro you can use the CPU Difficulty Adjustment to make small changes to the difficulty, I often use the difficulty adjustment slider when I want the game to be harder but don't want to jump straight up to the next level, it also gives you a way of increasing the difficulty above Superstar which i tend to use in the playoffs

At least when I'm playing with the boys our goals come in a variety of ways, one-timers, forehand-backhand vice versa, sniping top shelf from the face off dot, tipping, Datsyukian deke, etc... I can't tell you how many times we took the other team out of the game because we took away their precious cross crease cheese.

Cheers for the constructive criticism it is a welcome change to the endless stream of 'anyone can do that on rookie' type of commentary which I tend to give a stock response of check out the uncut footage then comment (no surprise the comment section is empty on those vids lol), however I'm just trying to have fun playing a video game albeit a broken game from EA. I do practice those types of goals in freeskate, but in bap I'm an enforcer with very low deking and tend to lose the puck on just a basic toe drag LMAO maybe in NHL24 I'll build a power forward or maybe a playmaker but love the hitting a bit too much lol.
@SiegeOnYT Жыл бұрын
@@Hockiwi I get that. I can't talk crap about a person who wants to enjoy themself with what brings them joy in a game. Not many people in the comments know what constructive criticism is anyway, but I tell you what, once you start having a variety of moves to pull out from your sleeve you'll have more fun scoring, nothing beats the feeling like going darn near the far red line and getting a "no angle" goal or going bar down. I have a suggestion for you to help maybe ease your way into more of a Power Forward position. I believe you when a guaranteed open ice hit presents itself, it's tough not to fulfill the initial motive, I love to try my hardest to ram the other team through the boards, thankfully in NHL 24 I'll be able to hit a player back on the bench where that player probably belongs. In EASHL with the boys I've found a snug position as a Power Forward that is able to knock players off the puck or flat out make them sit down if you catch my drift, while also being an offensive threat. With a Power Forward make the player about 6'2 - 6'3, weight at 218 lbs - 220 lbs If you love hitting I'll assume you use the "Truculence" zone ability, but maybe switch off to the "Big Rig" ability for a few games. The difference is obviously is that with the "Big Rig" ability you'll have better drives to the net (if that's you're comfortable play style). and try to balance out you're boosts and stuff with perks that'll help your snap/wrist shot power and accuracy, stick handling, and either defense or speed / acceleration. I'm always having to fill in my A.I. defenseman's shoes because you know how the A.I. is in 3's so I applied boosts and perks for shot accuracy, handling, and defense. I consider my build to be a Swiss Army Knife of sorts. I'd compare this build to that of Alex Ovechkin, Jamie Benn, Matthew Tkachuk, Ryan Getzlaf, Mark Messier, and (since you're the Minnesota Wild in the clips and I assume you're like me a Wild Fan) Marcus Foligno. Go Wild.
