Most pathetic stadium project I’ve seen. If the design of the roof wasn’t awful enough, the build quality is shite at best and that’s without even discussing how our blue nose neighbours can fill a fucking dock, pile it, build a whole stadium and surrounding area in the same time it’s taken these muppets to put this debacle up

Thanks, Colin. It looks great in early morning sunshine. You were struggling to remember "Granite Coping Stones" and "Mooring Bollard". We all have those moments. PoI's: 1) At 3:54 mins, the "office water bottle" that has made its way into the gap between the old dock wall Coping Stones and the East Plaza Granite Setts, demonstrates the size and depth of that gap currently before the'll fill it.stonework. 2) At 6:04 mins, IF the one uncovered panel is as it seems, then they've gone for a dull metal finish not the same material as used for the barrel-cladding, which is bright, shiny anodised aluminium. That's a pity. : I thought it would present a 'hall of mirrors' effect to people walking along the South Concourse. I hope it's just a trick of the light for now. 3) At 8:33 mins, we can see clearly the base plates for the future executive chairs. they look like pairs of short vertical pipes in this shot. 4) At 9:11 mins, we can see clearly that they have installed a 3 person desk in each dug out, for monitors, for staff to analyse live feed videos, I presume. They will have a front and overhead cover to screen the monitors from the bright light(s) and prying eyes. 5) at 11:45 mins: yes, the plans states Composite Wood-effect decking. 6) Just to be pedantic, at 12:30 mins, both the steps ON the terracing and the terracing itself will remain as concrete. They have yet to install railings alongside the steps on the terracing. 7) At 12:33 ins, the benches don't all seem to be in a perfectly straight line. 8) At 13:42 mins, we can see how much more substantial the foundations are for the North Perimeter Base Wall at the West End, basically from the end of the overhang westwards. We can expect to see further developments there including wind baffles, covers, gates and roller shutters. 9) At 13:45 mins, you were correct to point out the dark-grey finish to the concrete roof, even if it wasn't the final coat there. If you look at the entrance way to the plant area you can see the sharp line of colour differential between the concrete roof of the north stand and the floor of the NW plant area. 10) Great shadows of the large "+ shaped" wind baffles along the edge of the South Concourse, which cast onto the Everton Way. It mkaes it look as though there are more "+ shapes" there, when there aren't. 11) At 16:08 mins, those pallets on the Mezzanine MIGHT be some of the Composite Decking planks. 12) At 18:10 mins, we can see they're about to start laying the granite setts in the SE corner of the East Plaza. Fingers crossed for this evening that the injury-ridden team can still get the job done against the Toon. UTFT.

0:14 Hi Colin, Can you ask the people you know at Laing O'rourke if that fence above the barrel cladding on the East & West stand is staying for good? I always thought it was temporary for the safety of the roofers. And if it is staying, tell them to take it down as it looks dreadful 😂 especially from ground level haha.

@davidbadcock2225
@davidbadcock2225 21 сағат бұрын
Rosse: I'd second that comment. The walkways and rails over the standing-seam roof are permanent. The sturdier rails along the gutter WERE meant to be temporary and a new walkway and slim rail, like the others, was meant to follow inside the line of the edge of the standing-seam roof. But it looks to me as though they've ditched that idea. As you say, it just looks wrong.
@davidbadcock2225
@davidbadcock2225 21 сағат бұрын
@@jurgenvoogt1638 Good afternoon Jurgen. To what "ugly" gap are you referring? If you mean the gutter, the answer is no, that will remain open, as it has to take a large volume of water at times, from the standing-seam roof. the recent waterfall after the heavy storm was due to the fact that the Siphonic Drain system was not functioning yet, so the river of water couldn't get down the pipes fast enough by gravity alone. That will not be a problem when the Siphonic System is fully functioning.
@rosse6705
@rosse6705 21 сағат бұрын
@@davidbadcock2225 Yeah, I can fully see why they would keep the walkway fences. They don't look as bad either because they are set back. But I definitely thought the front ones above the barrel cladding would have been taken down as they completely ruin that seamless look from the barrel cladding to the Main roof. Surely the architect can't be happy with that as the final finish. That's if it is the final finish anyway, hopefully they will take it down at some point.

Welcome back, Colin. I hope you're refreshed. PoI's: 1) At 1:31 mins, I'd suggest that they have changed the plan for the dividing wall between the East Plaza and the Northern Walkway. I don't think there can be any form of bench there and as they have laid the granite setts right up to the concrete wall, they'll not be lining that face with the blue bricks seen on the two-tiered benches. I think it'll probably end up having a railing or balustrade along the top of the wall. 2) At 2:30 mins, the East Stand Main Portal doors have been in situ for a few weeks. 3) At 2:45 - 4:55 mins, we can see that they're definitely laying bricks that have the front face glazed in blue (a ceramic face, like a tile). The mortar is the same colour as the mortar used in the main facades. There look to be at least 3 different shades of blue used. We can see that the water-effect flags will be laid butting up to the base of the two-tiered bench to hide the bottom layers of red-faced bricks. 4) At 5:42 mins, I'm still somewhat perplexed by the change in plan for the uppermost Accessibility Platform on the Upper Tier of the West Stand. They have installed a full row of seats. In the approved plans, like the other Accessibility Platforms, it just had a series of paired Companion Seats. Worth a closer look to see if they're extra and shoehorned in or it's a new usage of that area? 5) At 6:36 mins, we can see they've instilled the remaining dugout seats but we still await what the little shallow platforms in each dugout are for. In visualisations there seem to be 2 shrouded desks, perhaps for Staff to be running monitors and videos with the shroud shielding them from the glare of the spotlights. 6) At 6:36 mins, it looks as though they're installing base plates for the future installation of the Executive Seats between the dark barriers. 7) At 7:23 mins, we can see that they have progressed with the installation of the concrete base for the North Perimeter wall at the West end. Keep an eye for developments there as the perimeter wall my well incorporate the erection of the Wind-Baffles and Cover, plus the same sort of Steel structures for roller-shutters and gates as seen at the south end of the mezzanine. The digging out and initial concrete pour there is quite different and much more sbstantial than the rest of the North Perimeter base wall. 8) At 7:23 mins, the diesel/oil slick from Sandon Dock is a right pain as, with Sod's Law perfect timing, it spoils the effect of what should be a clearer water channel by now. 9) At 7:23 mins, we can see that the northern end of the West Quay has been pretty well-cleaned up before they asphalt it there. Where the red-and-white lorry sits is where they will store the UV Light Arrays when not in use on the pitch. 10) At 7:23 mins, we can see that the balustrade on the West Quay in front of the DNOC/Media Complex, has longer posts than the rest of the length. The ground is lower there currently and I'd expect them to be leveling it up in due course. 11) At 9:11 mins, the two 10m wide openings are for Roller-Shutter doors. The 5m wide opening nearest the mezzanine is for 2 hinged gates. All of the shutters'gates will be in dark-grey aluminium with 50% porosity. 12) At 10:03 mins, my GUESS is that the big wind-baffle structures are going to have imagery incorporated into them as it looks as though they haven't applied the proposed imagery to the baffles around the trees. It's possible, therefore, that the frame inserts will not appear until the customisation phase. 13) At 11:04, I couldn't see what the contractor up the green cherry-picker was doing to the supports for the paneling on the east end of the Viewing Gallery. 14) At 14:00, it's a shame that they have not applied imagery incorporated into the fencing along the North perimeter, as was intimated in the plans.
