That's certainly a popular opinion. One that I have yet to see actually proven. Regardless, putting my build together will take a few hours at the most. Putting together *ANY* build that uses Nib that outscales my build will takes hundreds of hours of gameplay. That is a fact.

@@SwabbieGaming Yep agreed, nib is BIS which requires a lot of gear/time to make work. I just found one and tried it out, the DPS ceiling is insane. I'll get a clip up for you.

I don't know what you have, but hybrid health on gloves and belt, health % roll on body are critical. Also, the use of boulderfists was mainly for the base health.

@SwabbieGaming hp regen and ward rentention is not mitigation, 75 all res only cuts incoming dmg. Low Armour, 0 cra, low to zero endurance. That dps won't matter in 300+ when you'll get blown up before you land anything. Then again you can just spawn

@@frenzytrade3698 My guy, there's crit avoid, endurance, defensive bonuses from flame ward, teleport, decoy, etc. There are several defensive layers that all work together. Is it designed to go AFK while getting punched in the face by 1500 corruption mobs? No. However, 99% of people watching this video will never get above 200 corruption.

Do the math with the simple formula, even with those flat defensive stats you will still get blown up imo. You can not say sit there and afk, when your not doing 350+ corruption. You'll easily get blown up after 150. Temporary defensive layers don't outmatch 100% effective layers + increased layers from skill passives.

I have no idea. I don’t use the filter generator to make my filter. I made mine from scratch in game.

Corruption 200+ now. Not really having any issues, just need better gear so I can push further and it's not dropping for me. I've been getting nothing but Fire gear, so I'm building a Fire Sorceror and maybe I'll get some Shatter Strike gear on this one. I'll come back to it when my sanity returns. I just needed a change of pace.

Lacking gear. I keep getting literally nothing but drops for every other Mage archetype other than Shatter Strike, so I took a break from it for my own sanity and am using some of that gear to make a Sorceror build.

@@SwabbieGaming I made a build today that uses glacier for ward(I stack up to 5k ward) have over 700 mana, and main dps coming from set sword and shatter strike, has both survival and dps, looking to improve dps maybe incorporate firebrand somehow, I just came from a sorc build and got bored because it always devolved into attack speed lightning blast

So how far into endgame will this build take me? Been leaning on focusing it on my first character. Is it strong enough to do higher corruption (like 300-600)?

@@Neolastat depending on your preference there are much more broken builds, imo making spellblade work for you is a challenge compared to other classes

Stacking and consuming Firbrands is the biggest reason for the big spiky damage. Druid's damage is smoother overall, since there's nothing to set up like that, I imagine.

@@dik4316 I started hitting a wall on damage for my cold were bear at 140 corruption. It still tanks almost everything but it's hard to find extra damage. I'll have to look into the firebrand thing you're talking about. I've been using flamereave and fire aura and it's doing a lot of damage but only lvl 75 on lvl 90 mono's.

@@dangelnut well it depends on what you deem good. It can do up to corruption 130 really well, one shotting most things and easily standing still on orobos fights besides that linear arena-wide attack. The build would really be amazing if swipe has some sort of cold convert passive in the skill tree but without that, the single target damage lacks a bit. I would just be holding down right click against corruption 170 for a solid minute or two straight. Bosses without any hard hitting attacks or spells like Heorot can't kill you. I was able to stand in the air storm with 40% cold resist for about 10 seconds. But the build is a lot of fun, my most fun build so far I've played and if you get a haste shine, it really makes you feel like a god wearbear. I will add that I do not have any legendary gear yet as I haven't found the best in slot unique with LP. With it, I'm sure it would be another 30% stronger and tankier.

I’m not sure what swords you’re referring to, but any other swords I’ve tried on have made my damage go down. I’m also not going to sit here and say that my build is the best build there will ever be for Shatter Strike. What I am saying is I’ve done the comparison - in this video - and Nib and DEX stacking is not better than Health Regen if you are using the Shard of the Shattered Lance at all.

Any decent rolled exalted swords, but that required you go nib, dex stack and mourning frost. If you have to use Shard of the Shatters, sure that wouldnt work with nib and dex stack. Im not saying youre build is bad, im just saying compared to your current life regen Shard of shatters setup, dmg wise Nib + dex stack wtih mourningfrost would probably outperform your current build. Thats probably what whoever made those comments meant about Nib is better, i could be wrong, but thats just how i see it.

@@random_noob As I said in the video, you don't have to choose one or the other. DEX is a prefix, Regen is a suffix. You can have both. If you can make it work, you can also use Mourningfrost. However, you're going to have to make up the lost Physical and Cold resistances AND sacrifice defensive layers. That's an option, sure.

Keep in mind, Mourningfrost only gives 1% Cold Damage per DEX. You can just roll increased cold damage rings instead of intelligence if you want that and it would ultimately accomplish the same thing. It's OK, but not that great. There's a reason I prefer Intelligence over Cold Damage. It's slightly less damage, but more Ward Retention and more Ward per second with Prodigy.

@@SwabbieGaming Mourningfrost gives flat cold and not % cold. Like i said, i was talking about dmg wise comparison and in that regard nib, dex stack with mourningfrost would probably outperform your build dmg wise.

No. Health Regen has MUCH higher scaling potential. It is possible to get over 1000 regen. You would need 160+ DEX to even come close to the potential raw damage.

Also, you would need to have 25 points into the Sorc tree to even spec into Lost Knowledge, which means you're losing 25 points in the Spellblade tree. Mental Fortitude and Prodigy in the Spellblade tree give CONSTANT Ward that does not require spending mana and you still have 10 points left over to do whatever you want with.

I don't think Health Regen would scale damage as good as you think. Ultimately the set gives you 15% Increased damage per 10 regen, it's a increased damage, which means it adds up with other increased damage. When you truly reach a point of gear level that have over 1000 regen, you would have significant amount of other increased damage mods from other gear as well, which means increased gives you much less damage compare to flat or more or penetration, as those are multiplicative on top of increased damage.

Also Lost Knowledge is a perfect node for shatter strike. Shatter strike costs 42 mana with 2 points in whiteout, which is the perfect skill to trigger Lost Knowledge. Lost Knowledge gives you the full amount of your mana per shatter strike attack, and you can surely attack multiple times in a second. So even without investment in mana, Lost Knowledge outperforms Mental Fortitude and Prodigy way lot, not to mention you can even invest in mana affixes late game to get even larger ward. And if you take a big hit, and your ward is out, you have to wait much longer to let the ward per second generate back you ward, while with Lost Knowledge you just need to attack as it generates much faster.

@@Flyxin-li1gu You can deconstruct the entire build and rearrange it however you like and have varying degrees of success. However, at that point it’s a different build. The entire foundation of this build is Regen scaling. It would seem it’s you who does not seem to understand just how much it DOES scale. 1000 Regen is 1500% Increased Melee Cold Damage. The BASE of this setup is up to 193 Melee Cold Damage. That’s 3088 Melee Cold Damage. For perspective, that’s like a T7 55 Melee Cold Damage affix on a weapon 56 times.

The ultimate goal for the build is to not be glass, but still be a cannon. I'm working on testing some things that will make it even tankier without losing any damage

@@dik4316 I was brainstorming with someone and he had an idea to change up Idols and reallocate some passives in a creative way. If it works out, it could potentially be a game changer for Spellblade in general. I have to get the idols and test the idea.

​@@SwabbieGaming I'm running this except I'm using the nib atm. I'm focussing on attack speed over raw DPS of shatter strike, so the firebrand stacks, stack faster for bossing. Only need 1-2 stacks for normal mobbing. One problem I'm having atm is stuns. I need to work on more stun avoidance or hp or something. Do you get the same issue?

@@Jk-zv6tz Stuns shouldn't really be much of a problem. If you Teleport in to a pack, your decoy should take the heat so you don't get stunned and everything should pretty much be dying instantly. Don't try to charge up attacks for trash mobs. Just Shatter Strike and move on. Only charge up for big boys that don't die to the initial hit.

Mana Regen on belt and not just mindlessly spamming. It's really not been a problem at all.

@@MatsNielsen13 Losing the Health Regen scaling on the Amulet would feel really bad. I have considered maybe a 1LP Omnis with the health regen because it opens up SO many other affix options on the other slots

Penetration is fine, but you can easily just roll straight penetration in an amulet if you want it. The point is you can replace anything the Nib gives you elsewhere. You cannot replace the HUGE scaling potential of the missing set bonus.

@@SwabbieGaming i've came across this set and actually made pretty similiar build myself but you got to understand that there is virtually no way of scaling this build's damage way further with this setup. like in many others arpgs the best results are usually in mulitple ways of scaling dmg that is 12039112387 increased dmg is often not the way. this set gives you you pretty much increased dmg at the expense of - attack speed/crit multi/armor shred/res pen and crit chance if you ever want to be free from firebrand. its a really cool set brought it up to about 250 corruption and rerolled to also check other classes. will be back on spellblade when i get some decent exsanguinus. Just to be clear once again: this IS absolutely pretty nice build its way better that some floating around youtube but i also think there is huge opportunity cost for this you will at some point have to give up maybe cd reduction on boots for bigger flame ward and enchant weapon uptime , maybe you will have to concede offensive blessings in favour of resistances since they are hard to come by and everything is too tight to move around.

@@SwabbieGaming I was under the impression that one would get the set bonus for running two lances, assuming you can find two insane crystal swords nib at the highest end of investment does squeak out more damage though how many people are really gonna do that.

@@Rustyer266 DEX scales additively, while Regen scales multiplicatively. You can also add DEX on top of the Regen. Even IF (and that's a strong IF) you capped your DEX at 130 and had Mourningfrost and the best Crystal Swords the world has ever seen, you would still need to make up for the gaping hole in defense the -130 Physical and Cold Resistances would leave. You're also going to potentially lose Crit Avoidance, Endurance, Movement Speed, Ward etc. The set bonus not only gives damage, but it also gives a crap ton of Regen, which is itself ANOTHER defensive layer, with absolutely no sacrifice made at all.

@@SwabbieGaming additive scaling is much stronger than multiplicative, but good video showing these differences. I think at some point pen > damage but we would have to know boss resistances and everything. Can’t say bloody nib is definitely worse than set bonus cause you didn’t include mourningfrost. But good informative video

It’s just really easy to get 2-3 LP Boulderfists, so why not take advantage of the Health and Armor. Stun is also good. Right?

Mana spent is bait. Your Firebrand costs 0 mana and your Shatter Strike is only 42 mana max, so even if you get a 50% of mana spent idol, that’s only 21 mana every few seconds whereas you can get 20 or 30 ward per second idols straight up that not only give you more ward, but also keep your static ward higher

@@SwabbieGaming that’s a good point and they’re for sure more inferior. Only issue for me is that I haven’t found any “gain ward per second” idols so I had to run the mana spent ones, since I’ve dropped like 3 of them. They’re good enough to keep me alive in regular monos and empowered (100 corruption only so far).

@@SwabbieGaming I just wanna say, I was able to farm 4 idols last night, giving me almost 75 ward per second and it really is insane. I'm sitting at 710 static ward and these idols are definitely superior.

Nice! I wanted to try this build out but still on the fence. How’s the mana in this build? I hear a lot of ppl have mana issues with shatter strike. Also, how is survivability?

@@ltmaniac Considering other builds I saw, this build is very simple to get going and the damage is absurd, I went through most timelines without breaking a sweat, and on empowered timelines I was also doing pretty decent damage. Manawise, you have to do abit of management, but I do not think it's a huge deal considering you're generally building up for a big hit so. Survivability wise, compared to the other spellblade builds I've played it's pretty good. And I have been neglecting it so there's a lot of room for improvement. I'm also only lvl 85

Boulderfists are very good gloves in general for defensive purposes and they're easy to get 2+ LP on. The flat HP Regen is the most important thing on the gloves. Hybrid Health next. If you can roll 3 or 4 LP Boulderfists, that's even better. Get DEX & INT for the other 2 rolls.

@@ltmaniac Depends on the individual boss's stun avoidance. I don't know if there is any information out there as to base stats of each individual boss, but that would be the only thing that would impact stun success.
