After extensive testing, I found the damage very close between a second Shard of the Shattered Lance and the well rolled Crystal Sword off-hand I used in the video. However, a second Shard did ultimately win out. You DO NOT get the set bonus with two swords, which is the main idea behind this build, so you MUST equip the relic. @@Arlong1776 Yes. You need both. If you have 200 sheet regen and 300% increase, that means your base regen is 50 (4.0 x 50 = 200). If you add a T6 110% Regen roll to gloves, that would bring you to 255 (5.1 x 50). If you instead add a T6 23 FLAT Health/Sec Regen to gloves you would wind up at 292 (4.0 x 73), which is obviously higher than the 255 that the % increase would give you. Moral of the story, you want to increase whatever gives you the highest number on the character sheet. Also, keep in mind not every affix can be rolled on every piece. You can get % increase on rings and amulet, but you CANNOT get flat regen on those pieces.

oh yessiir!! i loved shatter strike w the projectiles and the humming bee swords for 20k ward before the multiplayer update but this looks so much smoother! i cant wait to try to build this myself and i hope u find some other keypoints that can improve this in the future

You can get cooldown reduction on belt also. 16%-32% for T5 and higher. Opal Rings give up to 10% each as well. To maintain 100% uptime on Enchant weapon with 9 second duration, you need 66% CDR (15/1.66=9). 8 on each ring, T6 belt and boots roll and you'll be at 66%. The rings can also give you up to 2 all attributes for 4 vitality 4 int 4 dex.

For survivability, stacking % mana spent on ward idols is also a good option if you can’t find the ward per second idols. I'm running 2 of these (40%) total and surviving without any issues. Only in regular monos RN, so I will see if they're good in empowered as well.

Mana spent is bait. Your Firebrand costs 0 mana and your Shatter Strike is only 42 mana max, so even if you get a 50% of mana spent idol, that’s only 21 mana every few seconds whereas you can get 20 or 30 ward per second idols straight up that not only give you more ward, but also keep your static ward higher

Only issue for me is that I haven’t found any “gain ward per second” idols so I had to run the mana spent ones, since I’ve dropped like 3 of them. They’re good enough to keep me alive in regular monos and empowered (100 corruption only so far).

I think the reason for not scaling Health Regen and using is that it is generally a weak stat. That said I am going to give this build a go, as I have yet to find a decent Spellblade build. :)

Also, wondering why in the build planner you choose to go with Boulderfists; melee stun doesn't seem like very helpful here and I wonter if aren't there any better options? Also, does Boulderfists with 1 legendary potential do its job if you roll only 1 additional stat to it? Just got one and brainstorming it :)

Its best to have both swords if you're going the firebrand for 100% crit version, attack speed for spellblade is easy to come by, if youre doing mana strike version, a crit attack speed sword for second weapon would be better. youre on the right track over all though

I don't think there is a 100% crit version anymore. They changed Firebrand's Illuminating Fire node so that it no longer guarantees critical hits, it instead adds 6% crit chance per stack, up to 36% crit chance.

How does the consencrated ground from judgement work? Does it add a regen or is another source of healing or smth like that? Bc if it adds character sheat regen, there might be absurd dmg potential in group play

I tested Judgement and it did nothing. However, Sigils of Hope DID boost my health regen by 71 to 385, increasing my Melee Cold Damage over 105%. The Paladin I tested it with did not have Holy Aura and he says that would have probably boosted it by another 20 or so.

Teleport helps you get around pretty quick (it’s very similar to Blink in PoE) but the movement speed isn’t super high.

May I recommend the Unique boots named Mourningfrost. It adds +1 cold damage for attacks and spells per point of Dex, so essentially it doubles your scaling for Dexterity

It doesn't actually work that way. Dexterity adds Melee Cold Damage, which the set bonus scales. These boots add Cold Damage to Attacks, which is a different stat that does NOT scale with the set bonus. The boots are good, don't get me wrong, but they also significantly reduce your Cold and Physical resistance, necessitating recovering that somewhere else in the build. You'd be better off getting flat Dexterity alone.

Most deaths happen in the first second of engaging enemies if they hit you before your defenses are up. Otherwise it’s pretty stout.

I don't think I've ever died from bosses after I hit 75 for all resistances. The only time I died was I pulled too many mobs and lagged out before I could do anything. Otherwise, it's pretty tanky.

Just some video format feedback. All just my opinion as someone who watches a lot of PoE/LE content on builds. Start with 20-30 seconds of gameplay show case, I want to know if the skills/build LOOK fun to play before I waste 20 minutes. Then first part of the video should explain any specific core mechanics being used, and what the enabling passives or items are. Then go in-depth explaining the build and itemization after that. First 4 minutes of this video is mostly useless information, don't need to know about lack of spell blade builds, or your opinion of the leveling build(insert a bit of this later when explaining the leveling portion of the build), or you searching about a sword. Put any of that relevant information in parts of the video it is needed and only keep to actually needed information. This video really only needed to be 5-10 minutes long with 10 being on the long side. ALSO IF YOU DO A BUILD VIDEO ALWAYS HAVE A BUILD PLANNER LINK. Build looks cool, just thought I'd share some feedback on the format. I see a lot of LE build videos that just feel like they are all over the place, even some from PoE content creators.

I know that it could be a little waste of slot but Azurral's Fury has 25 flat hp regen. And u get +100 melee fire dmg when u use a flask.

@@SwabbieGaming You can also regret points in teleport: 5 Time Dilation, 3 Crytaline Passage and 1 Resonant Plasma cause u are still overcapping resistances. Use those points in Elemental Affinity, free 50% ele dmg and Comet Rush for less cdr.

Resonant Plasma's Stun Avoidance is massive and you NEED 4 points in it to get Unexpected Copy, which is there to taunt things off of you for long enough to kill them. Crystalline Passage is mainly for the Armor and Time Dilation just makes ALL Teleport buffs last longer. You can do whatever your play style suits, but I prefer being capped before buffs to prevent being ganked by something while I'm not paying attention. Overcapped resistance is also good because it protects against resistance shred and ailments. My resistances are at 100% when buffed.

If I use your basic build link to create loot filter will I miss out on potential loot I’d want from your “unrealistic” perfect build by not having that loot filter? Or is it the same? I don’t fully understand the loot filters but I’m about to hit level 50 and I’ve been using a basic mage filter. I want to switch it over to yours asap but want to make sure it’s set up for my appropriate point in the game. Out of all the builds I’ve looked up this one is my favorite.

hay thats a cool build! straight up tried it, i managed to get 489 health reg, got both set items, 42dex, 31int, and 240% cold damage but seems like i only do 40k dmg on shatter strike. i dont have alot of idols/blessings yet but is that my problem, what am i missing? is it the increased cold damage % ? maybe you can help me out🙂

I actually tried Mourningfrost before I found Call of the Tundra. They were good, but it’s tough to maintain resistances with both and cooldown on the boots is really important. Chronostasis is interesting, but I personally prefer to build ward for defense. Spending it seems bad. Just my opinion, though.

@@chrisw4672 100% agree DEX is great. I said that in the video. Health Regen and DEX are not mutually exclusive, though, and Regen scaling is just nutty with the relic. It also happens to be pretty good for defenses.

Hey dude, thanks for the inspiration! :) I'm trying to push your "unrealistic end-game gear" into HC, let's see what happens! I am a noob, but i'm on lvl 65 now, even without Shattered Lances. DPS sucks due to that ofc, but ward gain is pretty dope and resistances are all nearly capped or overcapped, so i feel confident that i could push it to that level :) But why don't you go with Critical Strike Avoidance on your "unrealistic endgame gear"? Is that the reason for it being called "unrealistic" or is the gear just too hard to find/craft? I wouldn't go without Woven Flesh until i find the replacers for it at least. Got a 40% CSA armor and a 15% CSA ring so far, and as soon as i find an exalted belt or gloves with T6+ CSA i will definitely get rid of Woven :)

In the unrealistic build, it takes the Grand Survival of Might Blessing for Crit Avoidance because it gets 20% all resist from the Red Ring of Atlaria. It's unrealistic because there's about a 0% chance you're ever going to get a 4LP Body, Belt and Helmet, and an actual 0% chance of a 4LP Red Ring. I only listed the 4 Affixes to give an idea of what you would want if hell does freeze over and you actually get a 4LP any of those lol

I am new to spellblade just checking out cause i destroyed my build :D Could someone answer please. If you go with set sword and relic, doesnt that mean you dont need a second sword in offhand ? Is there no alternative in catalyst or shield that fits the build ? Swabbie said he used flame ward once while entering the Echo, if you are tough enough to survive first contact till ward builds up what skill would be beneficial instead of flame ward ? I would try Horns of Uhkeiros + The Last bear set(Dont know if mage can wear that) Bear gives a lot health regen and strength set bonus and horn gives some dmg armor and strength

Not really because shattered strike is a melee attack and it benefits a lot from stats like melee damage and melee cold damage. The amount of damage you gained from equipping another sword is just a must. Also, you gain crit multiplier I think for the number of swords you are equipped with.

@@sh1ro9 Ok i just set up a way to play and will post a build on LE Site if its good :) i get it .... 240% Crit dmg is a lot, but i think i still go for the chillflame DOT main dmg, DOT´s cant crit and instead go down right side to global cold node and armor node /enemy hit. Thanks for your answer My plan is to use glacier as teleport skill with rime buff for stronger dots. On addition to that i would have 2 movement skills, glacier and surge which sound weird but could be fun. Surge with invulnaribility to survive some Boss attacks since Frostbite dont scale with cold melee Dmg i dont need that 2.nd sword. Shatter strike just has to hit hard for trash.

You can follow the Spellblade Leveling Guide on Maxroll as I suggested in the video. You need to get to level 68 to use the Shattered Lance set. That will get you there.

I must be really unlucky. I've only gotten Fragments from Argentus. I got Wings of Argentus and I still haven't gotten the sword yet lol. Update: I think the sword has a massively reduced drop rate in Empowered monoliths. I lowered difficulty to normal and got it on my first attempt.

Corruption 200+ now. Not really having any issues, just need better gear so I can push further and it's not dropping for me. I've been getting nothing but Fire gear, so I'm building a Fire Sorceror and maybe I'll get some Shatter Strike gear on this one. I'll come back to it when my sanity returns. I just needed a change of pace.

@@ltmaniac Considering other builds I saw, this build is very simple to get going and the damage is absurd, I went through most timelines without breaking a sweat, and on empowered timelines I was also doing pretty decent damage. Manawise, you have to do abit of management, but I do not think it's a huge deal considering you're generally building up for a big hit so. Survivability wise, compared to the other spellblade builds I've played it's pretty good. And I have been neglecting it so there's a lot of room for improvement. I'm also only lvl 85

Boulderfists are very good gloves in general for defensive purposes and they're easy to get 2+ LP on. The flat HP Regen is the most important thing on the gloves. Hybrid Health next. If you can roll 3 or 4 LP Boulderfists, that's even better. Get DEX & INT for the other 2 rolls.

I wouldn't. Boulderfists are easy to get with 2 or 3 LP, and possible to get 4 LP if you're lucky. You're incredibly unlikely to get Ravenous Voids with 2LP. The really the important thing on the gloves is actually the Flat Health Regen, which Ravenous Voids does not have. You have a 50-75% chance of getting that affix to transfer with a 2-3 LP Boulderfists. Any of the other affixes are just icing on the cake.

Oh, Firebrand stacks up to 6 times and gives increased crit chance and multiplier to the next attack that is not Firebrand. It also builds stacks of Blade Weaver since it costs 0 mana. So you load up with Flame Blade & Blade Weaver x 6, then unload with a super devastating Shatter Strike.

Lacking gear. I keep getting literally nothing but drops for every other Mage archetype other than Shatter Strike, so I took a break from it for my own sanity and am using some of that gear to make a Sorceror build.

Don't you have problems with mana? I am running spellblade leveling guide so far (I'm level 70 and about to switch to your build) and have constant problem with low mana, especially on arena-like echoes, when I have to spam Shatter Strike frequently to live. Your build doesn't include mana regen stats at all so I'm starting to think that I'm missing something.

The build planner has mana regen on the belt. Arena type situations can be tricky when it's a bunch of mobs that want to spread apart and shoot at you. You just have to abuse pathing bottlenecks and force them to group up for neater shatter strikes sometimes

That’s correct. That’s why I got flat HP regen on the gloves and the helmet, so the % will scale that base. The set bonus effectively only cares what your actual HP Regen is on your char sheet.

Yes it does. If you have 10 flat HP Regen, and 100% increased HP regen, your character sheet will go to 20 flat regen and you will get 30% increased melee cold damage.

@SwabbieGaming hp regen and ward rentention is not mitigation, 75 all res only cuts incoming dmg. Low Armour, 0 cra, low to zero endurance. That dps won't matter in 300+ when you'll get blown up before you land anything. Then again you can just spawn

@@frenzytrade3698 My guy, there's crit avoid, endurance, defensive bonuses from flame ward, teleport, decoy, etc. There are several defensive layers that all work together. Is it designed to go AFK while getting punched in the face by 1500 corruption mobs? No. However, 99% of people watching this video will never get above 200 corruption.

Do the math with the simple formula, even with those flat defensive stats you will still get blown up imo. You can not say sit there and afk, when your not doing 350+ corruption. You'll easily get blown up after 150. Temporary defensive layers don't outmatch 100% effective layers + increased layers from skill passives.
