I'm in public version 25.7.0 and realized it is already there. I've decided for now to keep the bottom three options checked on and show transform controls off. I've found if I have transform controls on I always think I'm in the actual transform mode, which I find confusing. As a (beginner) compositor, I love this new layers feature. Thanks for the video. (I've followed Aaron for a long time. I joined Pro last month - so much to learn!)

This is why I have never even downloaded Lightroom. Newcomers to the Adobeverse think Lightroom is the very top-level of editing, some not even realizing that Photoshop and Camera Raw came first and that Lightroom actually evolved from Camera Raw.

Unless they're planning on expanding this to mimic masking in acr (but have the mask editable - which would be great) this is a useless tool imo and seems to pander to new usere. Which is fine, but PS is a pro tool, I want pro features, not Adobe scrambling around trying to capture more of the mobile plug-play market. This adds nothing new ... I could create an action to do the exact same thing in minutes unless I'm missing something here..?
@phlearn2 күн бұрын
Hey there! The Adjustment Brush is aimed at a more user-friendly workflow, but we understand the desire for advanced masking features like in ACR. It could be a good option to try it on a project where you just need to make some quick, localized tweaks. It's non-destructive just like adjustment layers, so you can always go back and refine things later. Ultimately, what matters the most is what works for your own workflow ☺

What would you recommend when someone is working with a .RAW file? Adobe automatically opens it in the camera raw filter, so you are unable to convert it to a smart object first.
@phlearn2 күн бұрын
Hi Natasha! If Photoshop opens your image in Camera Raw (ACR), you can just close the window. This will bring your image directly into the main editing workspace, where you can convert it to a smart object.

Never understood why should I have to convert a layer into a Smart layer. Once this feature has been introduced in Photoshop why isn’t it the default for the layers?
@phlearn2 күн бұрын
Hi Gianluca! Regular layers are lighter on processing power compared to Smart Objects, which can be especially important for working with large files or older computers.The choice to convert a layer into a smart object will mostly depend on your specific needs and editing workflow.

That was perfectly timing to watch this video. Before I opened my images in Lightroom did my usual workflow and then opened it in Photoshop, and when I saw some things that I would like to adjust in Lightroom again it wasn’t possible anymore, and I asked myself how to use camera raw in that very moment. Fantastic job loving your channel. 👏👌😍

When selecting her face it would be easier and more accurate to use Select People and checkmark Face, then Create Mask 🙂
@rrspille5 күн бұрын
I don't get it. I am way more faster by (more precise) masking in photoshop (e.g. select skintones) and use all the given tools for retouch… including the camera raw filter. I'm always using a technique of different masks (selections) and layers. Don't get me wrong: it's always nice to have another tool and I like camera raw. But essentially for processing the image out of the camera
@dandiehm84145 күн бұрын
Is there any advantage to using the camera raw filter over using Lightroom? I thought Lightroom edited the actual raw file. Am I mistaken?
@phlearn5 күн бұрын
You are correct! With Lightroom you can edit raw files as well. ACR is within Photoshop, so you can seamlessly switch between the two programs for more advanced editing. This useful if you frequently use Photoshop's editing tools.

Love these tutorials :) I was wondering, is it possible to create wet looking skin from scratch within photoshop? (make someone with dry skin look like they have just got out of a swimming pool)? I know you would normally photograph the model wet but I use photoshop to edit 3D renders and rendering glossy skin is quite resource-intensive so I was wondering if there is a way to replicate this in photoshop?

Because when you have taken thousands of photos of an event you want to be able to tag them with key words, give them star ratings use the film strip to copy basic edits from one to another (I expect you can do batch process in PS too). You can also work with smart previews in LRC where as you need to have the original in PS. I mostly use PS as the remove, clone features in LRC as not as good,as they are in PS and if you need to do some thing complex and need layers.
