“I believe I would like to sit here for a while.” That line always gets me, to me, it signifies that Kratos is actually gonna stick around this time and rule with temperance and wisdom rather than just being a bloodthirsty vengeful warmonger. I always thought this was the best scene in Ragnarok, if not the entirety of the past two games. Not only did Christopher judge give us an absolutely BRILLIANT performance, but it’s in this scene where Kratos truly confronts and reconciles his past. His tone goes from reminiscent to angry to contemplative, and finally vindicated. These are emotions that encapsulate a life of pain and suffering that Kratos brought on himself by being selfish and blinded by his destructive ambitions. They caused the death of his family and the destruction of his old home and he realizes that was all just a fool’s errand. But through feeling all that emotion, Kratos realizes he’s not the same man he used to be and he’s wiser for the wear, so knowing what his actions caused the first time out, when he sits on his old throne, he has hope now that this time things will be different, which really shows that he’s come full circle after all the calamity he brought about in his old life caused him to all but give up hope completely.

A little i have for how Kratos became more weak was because he lost some of his godhood in gow 3 when he tried to kill himself at the end of game with the blade of Olympus, since he we know he can put his god power into the sword making him weaker and basically human again, which could explain why he looks so different in the new games as well

The issue lies in the fact that when Kratos was *first* killed by Zeus, he wasn’t saved by an alternate version of himself. If that had been the case, your theory would hold true. However, once again, Kratos defies fate itself.

I always thought the reason why he doesn't stay dead is simply because his WILL won't allow him to stay dead. And the immortality in terms of him being able to live centuries, self-heal, and never get sick was the result of him being a demigod.
@handsomejack3149Күн бұрын
The Oracle from God of War cursed him to wear the ashes of his family forever, which literally means forever because immortality is a part of that curse. Even if he got killed he returns to life, also when he wants to die. Yeah could argue that in two cases the Greek gods simply won’t let him die but I think that weaves into his curse.
@real_Hamilton19 сағат бұрын
It's also just because he's a god. His godly lineage is the reason why he's able to live for centuries and never get sick. Also why he's able to self-heal. It's not just the curse
@handsomejack314912 сағат бұрын
@ im Talking about his inability too die and not which feats he inherited from is godly lineage or he got when he took place as the new god of war in the Greek pantheon. We see him only age because of that curse, he would’ve stayed dead if he wasn’t cursed. Btw kratos was born an halfgod, he was mortal until he got cursed, his godly powers, which he gains after the curse, never ever influenced his possibility of death.
@jdp3578Күн бұрын
Kratos died twice. 1st time he fought through the underworld and climbed out(with help), 2nd in gow 2 but he was saved by gaia. In gow 3 he takes his own life, and he just doesnt die. So whatever caused this happened in gow2-3. I believe it happened when he absorbed the ashes of prometheus in gow2. They gave him greater strength, but he inherited prometheus' curse. He can be brought to the brink of death, then he simply revives/heals.

No more running, no more self doubt/pity. Not absolving himself of his actions, but accepting them and truly moving on. This god has been torturing himself for 100s of years. As soon as he accepted who he was, and who he wasn't, young Kratos disappears. The Norns were right, The God of War did die. Replaced with The God of Hope 💯

I will think it's more like because Kratos brought the titans into the future (both in timeline 2) there would be no Gaia to help Kratos so Kratos 2 will just torture endlessly in Hell. Because if Kratos brought the timeline 1 Gaia than there's no one to help our Kratos the original. But yeah I think it's just the same timeline and there's simply two Kratos, the second Kratos will die anyway AND it feels like a jump cut between the stabbing scene and when the hands of Hades take Kratos into hell (Kratos lost conciousness after Zeus stab him and he's imagining stuff like his wife and daughter etc) so there is a possibility between that scene our Kratos is back from the future to fight Zeus and then he escaped when Kratos stab Athena (we never see Athena after Kratos was brought back to life) and then Zeus attacked Sparta. How is my theory😂

The thing that people dont understand is that yes, the oracle cursed him, but the dude literally killed the primordial god of death, so death can't get him, because he killed death. Zeus dialogue is the same. The "no matter" is probably not remembered by Kratos b/c he was dying, then Zeus gets right in his ear to make sure he hear it. While yeah 2 timelines, but 1 stops existing once Kratos travels to fight Zeus. Then yeah, past Kratos gets revived by gaia and goes after the fates, while main Kratos is fighting Olympus. Even in game if you look back towards where Olympus would be, it looks like something bad is happening. But there can't be multiple timelines b/c of the fight with the fates in the past on the sword used to kill Aries. If Kratos fails, the sword is destroyed, past Kratos is killed by Aries, and main Kratos dies/ceases to exist. The slightly altered dialogue could also just be subtle shifts due to variations in a looping timeline. 1st Kratos hears/sees more, like zues killing the Spartans, then stops that from happening, 2nd Kratos sees himself, then when he gets to that same moment, maybe things happen slightly different due to what he experienced.

@JustinJulian-003 күн бұрын
@@IBF_MC but one problem though his curse is not even bound to Greece anymore because just like the power of Hope the curse itself is bound to the individual even if you destroy the Homeland of where the curse came from since the curse is an extension of him now meaning his ashes can't go nor the blades of chaos will never stop following him or losing power since primordial fire exists in all creations anyway that's why they still have power and also most of the abilities that he lost are the numerous weapons items and the blessings he gains from the gods over the years he just doesn't have the magical energy to use them anymore because these items need magic in order for him to use them and since astral Zeus drained kratos of his magic and also breaking the numerous weapons that he has except for the blade of Olympus and the blades of exile those weapons survived he just don't have them anymore and also the only thing Zeus can't take away is his Divine physiology that he was already born with that's something that Zeus can never take away
@IBF_MC3 күн бұрын
@JustinJulian-00 yeah,but my point is that being away from the homeland/it being destroyed weakens the curse. Its been confirmed the Ashes are fading. I am just wondering, would they still be fading if Kratos was still in Greece, even with his Character growth. I agree the curse is an extension of himself, as are the blades. But what if the curse of both aren't as strong because of him being away from greece. In the OG GoW games Kratos always had the blades on his back, but in the Norse games he doesn't need to do that. (Looking outside of gameplay mechanics) what if the reason he doesnt wear them all the time is because he doesnt have too due to the weaker curse?

I know where his immortality come from the village oracle she was the one who place the curse on him in the form of ashes of his wife and daughter to be set as a symbol for his terrible deeds for everyone to see and everyone to know meaning it will not matter if nobody sees him as long as they know what he looks like then the curse world remain there forever what about the other gods who's spread the knowledge of who kratos is like Hades or Persephone could have told everyone in the afterlife of who kratos is or Athena spreading her message to everyone about who he is meaning as long as the knowledge of who he is burned in their memories then the curse can't leave him meaning people of future generations will know who he is based on the stories that their parents told them about him and he can bring himself back to life whenever necessary and even if he does kill himself the curse will prevent him from dying anyway and also him having the power of hope means he can resurrect as long as he has hope within himself as he embodies that concept now as long as people have hope in him or him having hope within himself then the concept can't die even if you take his curse away it's going to be hope that keeps him alive
@real_Hamilton19 сағат бұрын
You don't think the immortality has something to do with the fact that he's just a high level demigod? I feel like his genetic heritage outweighs the power of the curse especially since the person who placed the curse on him is dead
@JustinJulian-0013 сағат бұрын
@real_Hamiltonthat too and don't forget people of Greece view him as a savior now they view him as a symbol of Hope which can be extension of his immortality just like when you worship something and give them significance they become more immortal because godhood is just an extension of immortality like be a demigod does allowed that as well and also he doesn't even depend on ambrosia to be immortal
