Beautiful hand! With my regular partner (15-17 nt, 5542 system) I would open 1 club and after 2 clubs (inverted minors, promise at least 5 cards when I open 1 club) I can show 18-19 nt with the bid of 3 nt, But with that hand I would probably go to 6 clubs directly. So 1 club - 2 clubs - 6 clubs :D

Don't agree. With no certain entry to Dummy to take the Club finesse I think you have to bite the bullet and take the Diamond finesse at trick 1. Hindsighted? Maybe . But if DK is wrong you are probably losing a ruff as well and going off 1 or 2 in 5C anyway.

A good thing to learn is that partner's opening bid + an opening bid in your hand ( 13+ points) means you have enough for game.

Is the grand slam a good one? My understanding is that with grand slams, break even point is reached if the slam will make about 70% of the time, but seven outstanding cards will only break 4-3 about 62% of the time. In practice, I think the slam will also fail when East has three diamonds and three spades.

No , don't agree ! Where are 4 tricks coming from for the defence ? You can see as East that the Club finesse is working, if Declarer needs it. You are most unlikely to have a trump trick ( Partner is surely void) so you need him to have HA . You should work this out even if it's gone : 1S-4S.

Think a 4th round of Spades when in with HK might beat the contract. Dont agree with 4H by South is justified....Too flat a hand and no Heart Intermediates quality ...

Playing a more sophisticated asking-bid style it could go : 1S-2C-2NT-3C-3D ( shows top of the range 19-Count ) you might get to 6NT by North....

I open 1H with this 5-3-3-2 12-count and raise partner's 1S response to 2S. With a 14-count I would rebid 2H , and if partner bids 2NT I am good enough to bid out my shape with 3S. Should get to 6S here anyway.

Nobody bids 2D Natural over 1NT these days. An old partner of mine back in the 1970s always said: " If the opposition want to play in 2 of a Minor...Let 'em ! " Good advice !

East should surely bid 5C over 4H to help West if and when he is on lead later.
