There is an issue with the brass anchors for the mounting screws on the housing that attach it to the mount that goes on the Wilcox, they tend to pop loose and you will need to ship it back to them, so they can reinforce it with a better mounting plate and reattach the anchors. If they build a housing out of aluminum, this thing would be a grand slam. I tested it at night and it’s amazing.

Interesting. I didn’t have a single issue! Thanks for pointing out this potential issue.

If i get a single nvg30 what do i need to mount to my helmet? A g24 and what else? Is there an adapter from the g24 to nvg30? Tia

You need the g24 bridge and a Wilcox mount. The dovetail adapter the NVG30 uses is included in the box. That’s all, and you’re set!

Looks like it's just a Kevlar and fiberglass soft armor that's been impregnated with epoxy in a mold with a vacuum pump. You can make that armor with a fiberglass welding blanket, a mold, a trash bag, and a vaccuum pump. Yah, it flexed like soft armor. And just like soft armor, it might stop it, but it's sending chunks of your sternum into your aorta.
@PhantomLlamasDen4 күн бұрын
YUP! *edit* I know- not much of a response, but honestly- every time we have something like this one of the first things we say to ourselves is, “there goes your ___”. We know that armor is ultimately meant to keep a person in the fight a little longer on the battlefield…and in less volatile situations actually keep a person from immediate death… and we know that broken bones are far more preferable to penetrating wounds… but as you said-bones into your vitals.
@libertyrevolutionary17764 күн бұрын
@@PhantomLlamasDen honestly thought, the hard fiberglass stuff has less backface deformation. The channel ZNA productions made some several years ago. Although, alternating layers with kevlar, using some better epoxy and a vaccuum pump probably would have improved the strength massively. And cutting the fabric before epoxy rather than using a jigsaw afterwards would have prevented a big mess. 🤣

Better than soft armor for the coverage area.

I've been collecting Spanish Automatics for years..STAR ASTRA and Llama. Honestly I find them underrated in many ways. I picked up a Llama fullsize with simple markings of Llama. 45 Auto on the Slide Saturday. Slide was a Tad mushy so I figured a new Spring was needed. I got the old girl home , broke it down to find the Guide Rod missing but it still functioned. I had a spare guide Rod so problem solved. Llama likes details. Mine has a raised flatop Slide spine, serrated Front Pistol Grip and a nicely checkered Mainspring Housing and trigger...features you won't find on many high end 1911's. No...the Llama is not my go to war choice...but it's Not the Pile of garbage some would lead you to believe it is.

I picked the shield arms gen3 mags based on reviews of both and complaints about PSA. I don't mind having the metal mag release, and I prefer a mag body that's not a hybrid. Shield arms mags I picked up a 3pk for $101 and went to the range and it was flawless. Another 3pk is on order for $89 as there's a sale this weekend... Each 3pk comes with a metal mag release...

Absolutely. We’re working with some other companies to see what we can do with similar tests for legitimate armor. But like I said. @kenofken94585 күн бұрын
@@PhantomLlamasDen The problem is you will never really know what it's capability is. The panel you test today, without transparent and consistent quality controls, offers zero predictability for the one you buy from the same source a week or a year from now. The next one may in fact handle full IIIA challenge. Or it might let a .22 LR through.
@PhantomLlamasDen5 күн бұрын
We’ve noticed an incredible lack of quality control in our orders of this “body armor”. We’ve ordered the same thing a few times and have received entirely different items that perform entirely different. Some look legitimate, some look like sheet metal with a black cloth over it. So absolutely, we couldn’t agree more. I think we’ve called this out in other videos we’ve done in this vein- we don’t trust the QC that MIGHT exist for these inserts, or from Temu.

@PhantomLlamasDen10 күн бұрын
It really does seem somewhere between 2 and 3A, just not quite to the point of 3A. Especially given how quickly it failed after hitting center mass with the 44.

Nah. Everytime we do one of these videos, we expect it to be a waste of money. Especially given the fact that we are literally destroying the product lol
@kenofken94585 күн бұрын
@@PhantomLlamasDen In a sense, items you destroy in a way that will yield useful scientific information is never a waste of money. As I understand it, an armor maker will sacrifice dozens of thousands of dollars in both costs and product submitted for NIJ testing. Of course the issue when there is no quality control or transparency becomes that the information you gain from that test is of very little predictive value.
