I’m a therapist and I’ve believed for a long time that tarot has a significant place in therapeutic work (unless it goes against a client’s belief system, then I wouldn’t use it). I’m a huge fan of using oracle cards with Tarot and I absolutely LOVE the Soul Truth Self-Awareness deck. I’ve used it on myself when doing shadow work. And don’t people come to therapy to work on some level of their shadow selves? I love the action portion because it can be a client’s “homework” for the week. I’m a huge proponent of journaling anyway, but this lends itself to journaling. I’m so glad to see how much you enjoy the deck!

It looks interesting, but if it lacks a proper detailed accompanying book it will be hard to go more in depth about all the symbolism. I enjoy not having to read from a screen, I prefer a deck with a book, even if it has to be bought separately. Is there maybe another similar deck with hermetic symbolism you would recommend for this?

I have Mystic Imaginarium Oracle, Angelarium Oracle of Emanations, Midnight Magic Tarot, and Twin Flame Ascension Oracle for trade. I'm looking for oracle decks that I don't already have.

Wonderful video! So full of info on the books! I’m a bit of a bibliophile so I always love having a slowly growing library full of subjects I enjoy & tarot is one of them. I started with the Thoth tarot many years ago & fell in love with the beautiful artwork. I love the way you combine the tarot & oracle decks in your readings to expand the meanings of your readings. Such a good idea!

I love this! I've never seen a spread like this. Thank you April. I think I like a variety of spreads from picking a card a day, to 2-3 card spreads, to 10-cards. Are there spreads with more than 10 cards? I'm open to all of it.❤💫💐

Hiya, I know you are probably not aware of what I am going to write but I believe there is a big issue within this deck. St Nicholas on The Hierophant's card is written in Dutch which suggests the disgusting Dutch (and some of Netherlands' bordering countries) tradition occuring in December - I won't go into details here but it is racist and includes black face (if you Google Sinterklaas racism Netherlands you can find many articles). This is the reason why personally I bojcot this deck. One has to ask a question, why would the author choose to write St Nicholas's name on the Hierophant's card in Dutch, especially when the author is Welsh. Of course, there is always a chance that the author didn't know about this horrendous tradition related to Sinterklaas BUT considering he talks about it briefly in the book, I can't imagine doing his research and not coming across the information that would make any sensible and kind person want to reconsider the chosen card or just focus on the St Nicholas's name from a country where the tradition is not racist. For instance, I am from Europe and St Nikolas is celebrated on the 5th December in many countries where he just gifts chuldren dry fruits and nuts - if the children are good. If the kids are naughty, the Devil comes to visit them (which admittedly is a little scary but a lot of European myths, legends etc are). This Vox video explains it very well kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHPUoHtjpt1gpdUsi=7_E5Ds-fAM4RyPAc

I love Brady. I started with Thoth, so it's very grounding for me. Also, Dame Darcy Mermaid Tarot really is special to me as someone who is super connected to ocean and island life. Tyldwick Tarot makes me feel warm and cozy. ❤

The third edition of the Brady Tarot is on Kickstarter until Sunday, December 15 2024 2:02 PM EST. -- the difference is a new Strength card and a slightly bigger guidebook. There's also new art on the box. There is a possibility of a traveler's deck too if there are enough backers.

You can get this deck by ordering the Total Tarot magazine ( UK) issue 2 and 3. It's published by Lo Scarabeo and called The Radiant Wise Spirit. Simon from the Hermit's cave made a video about this comparing the decks.😊

@TarotandWitchery Hi Rachel, I just had a look at my order. If you google Total Tarot Shop (not magazine) you will find a drop down menu for USD. I live in Australia the postage was 30 Australian $, 33 for the 2 magazines. I was happy to pay that for such an iconic deck🥰

I think that a lot of this was because of super consumerism. A lot of indie decks have linen finishes, a certain high end card stock and all sort of other "extras". I think this is catered to for people who oooh and ahhh over those things. Somewhere along the way, people started not being satisfied with regular decks. Also, for me, I have realized I am not big on kickstarter. I don't want to wait months and sometimes years to receive a deck am pretty sure I have fallen in love with. That is just me, however. I do have about 25-30 indie decks. Most I didn't buy on kickstarter. My Anna K I bought directly from the artist, after it went MM. For me, it was a way to support her. Just like you mentioned. So, there are times I will buy something because of the creator. It varies with each deck.

I feel like this discussion missed out on including the harm caused by the counterfeit syndicate. Indie creators loss money and don't have the resources to fight counterfeiters. I wonder how much of people complaining about the cost of original decks drives people to justify purchasing fakes. I also don't think it is fair to creators when people complain about the cost of shipping or any local taxes. Those aspects are completely out of a creator or publisher's control.
@TarotandWitchery29 күн бұрын
I agree on all of your points. AND, I think artists should get paid for their work!
@TrioofWitchesTarotАй бұрын
My collection is 95% indie and I have over 300 total. KS can be iffy. I limit myself to decks that I have been following for a while and known creators. I believe the cost is justified because artists work so hard. I didn't realize there was an indie version of Mary El. I have the first edition but it's published by Schiffer.

☠️ I also have the lightseers tarot and I do like the death and rebirth reference when I pull that card. I don't subscribe to the hype that the death card is bad. It's actually one of my favorite cards. When it comes up it gives me a chance to open my eyes. Because a lot of times I am probably walking thru life with blinders on not wanting to deal with it and the death card will be the reminder to pay attention

Then, this year, i bought 9. Fricking 9!! I love my decks, And i do not regret, but we all need to be better if we want to reduce our footprint on this earth. I need to be better. Thank you for the message.
