Yes! loved the series, great review. Likewise, it took the end of epi 3 to really get into it, but knew it was special from the commissioner asking: 'was she SA' and 'no he wasn't'. the murder mystery i never knew i needed!

Not a sapphic ending? Maybe you saw another ending, or a Director's Cut, but I remember Helen and Jessica running away together in an extremely positive, upbeat, happy ending.

I watched for about 30 minutes and got so tired of Jessica running around like her hair was fire and stopped. Hearing this synopsis makes me glad i stopped watching it.

Excellent POINT!! Like why was Eve soo mad? I thought they were good. Like I was done with the season when V was in her hotel room and asked to stay, and Eve left. Like WHHHAATTT!! You finally can be together and you LEAVE? Then the slap at the aquarium and the hostility like is this how you treat someone you love??

Another queer witch story we forget about, perhaps because they are not the main character but Star Wars: The Acolyte. The mothers of the twins were also queer witches.

I don't know if its good content but do you cover daytime TV? There was an American soap on CBS called Guiding Light. It ran for like 100 years and in 2009 it went off the air. Its last 2 years there was a lesbian story line between Characters Natalie and Olivia. Then the 2 Actresses started self producing online soaps with a similar storyline. They put out 6 seasons over the last 10 so years and a lot of the cast from the CBS soap is now involved. I can't really pin point who their target audience is because the cast is older and its mostly focused on a lesbian storyline. Its called Venice the series. They are releasing a new season this month after being gone for 5 years. First 2 seasons are on youtube and the rest if for purchase. The two Women made a movie called A Million happy nows. and youtube has #Otalia from the original soap but that's pretty dry. Every heard of them?

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THIS VIDEO. Seasons 5 and 1 for me are the most boring (for a lack of a better term) and Season 6 is my ULTIMATE FAVORITE. Even the way they ended the series was AMAZING. Gabrielle _becomes_ the "new" Xena.

"IMAY" was and will be a MASTERPIECE within the genre. What you didn't know is that both actresses met filming "The Cave" in Romania and were a couple. Ol Parker, Lena's friend, when she gives him the script, the triangle was two men and a woman. Lena asks him to trade it for another woman and reads the script to Pip over the phone. He calls her in the UK and teaches her the British accent. The rest is a story that lasts, intermittently, until today. I also don't understand why you don't see the chemistry when it was what was talked about the most. In fact, their website is called "Chemistry." Pips had filmed "Lost and Delirious" in Canada with a gay theme, but a sad ending. Lena, with "Beacon 23" has six lesbian roles and she has defined herself. in many interviews, like a tomboy. Pips, she was always more careful. Lena is a suburban Queen who is beyond labels. Love people, not sexes. Lastly, I was probably reviewing shows when you were eating cereal. You have to investigate. Several of your posts have errors, but I couldn't pass this one up because it is a cult film and Ol's first feature film. Thank you for your attention.❤

What’s funny to think about too, I was actually thinking Glinda and Elphaba’s relationship being in a similar place as Nick and Gatsby’s relationship in the book “The Great Gatsby”🤔 Ik it sounds weird comparing these 2 different medias but hear me out😅: 1. Both “Wicked” & “The Great Gatsby” book have various tones of lgbt moments between the lead characters despite both books supposedly reaching more of a hetero audience 2. Glinda & Gatsby are also characters who loves the IDEA of a happily ever after with their opposite gender love interest, but never actually loving/connecting with the PERSON themselves 3. Though the letter G characters with blonde hair are the talk of the town to everyone else (Gatsby being the new rich man on the block & Glinda being the popular girl of Shiz), they are only fascinated and wanting to be closer with Nick & Elphaba who challenge/go against their usual norms 4. Nick & Elphaba are the quirky-nerdy main characters who find Gatsby & Glinda as charismatic individuals who they grow fond of the more they get closer to them 5. Eventually both Natsby & Gelphie are forcibly separated cause of classism Watching this vid made me thought about this, and even if others might not agree, it’s what I think😂🤣

I think that Glinda bonds with Elphaba because, due to their unique sets of expectations, they are both "alone." Glinda is alone at the top of the social hierarchy, and she always needs to be the most beloved, the center of attention, and perfect. So she does things like changing her name for performative solidarity with the animals. One of the first times she casts aside her fear of being imperfect is being with Elphie in her time of vulnerability on the dance floor. But Elphaba doesn't care about all that highborn stuff or popularity and bucks the system and sees right through her. At her side, our perfect pastel princess isn't "Galinda Upland of the Upperuplands" or the mean girl or the aspiring future good witch. She's just Glinda. And at Glinda's side, Elphaba the scary green outcast is just Elphie, someone who is loved for the beautiful and strong being she is. Yet, despite the makings of something there, Glinda keeps pursuing Fiyero. Through one interpretation, she pursues him because she feels she HAS to, like a queer person trying to stick with a heterosexual partner to meet the expectations of parents or society. ...and never mind, the speaker said the "comp het" theory in the video.
@maruk80796 күн бұрын
to the point abt Glinda valueing Elphaba more than Fiyero; there's a deleted scene between these 2 about why Elphaba went with Fiyero to rescue the Lion and wHY NOT ME and it just clearly shows, to me at least, that she doesn't really care that Fiyero, her bf/supposed love interest, went and spent time with Elphaba but felt more betrayed that Elphaba didn't choose Glinda to help with her cause. Also someone pointed out that when she woke up she looked to Elphaba's side first so...

RIP to the late Karen Dwyer, who played Maggie in this film. We lost her so young, and every time I watch this film I sincerely hope that she she knew what a transformative part she played in the lives of so many sapphics who grew up in the '90s and early '00s (particularly in Canada). As someone who grew up in Canada in the 90s, this film was a significant part of my queer adolescence. Now, anytime that Christina Cox (Kim) talks about her experience of making this film and gives Karen a little shout out to honour her life and memory, it makes me a little emotional. Also, I agree with your sentiment that this film has aged pretty well. In some ways it's very dated, but the storytelling and character portrayals have held up to time, which I think is a testament to Peggy Thompson's writing and Anne Wheeler's sensitivity as a director.

I saw the extended(?) version back in the day, and it blew my mind. I think the body painting scene went on longer, and was more explicit, than in most versions. Better Than Chocolate and The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love were VERY formative movies for me when I was younger. Here are some of the things I remember from the DVD commentary: The customs guy (a big fan of Mozart) was played by Jay Brazeau, who was a well-known comedian in Vancouver at the time. Wendy Crewson and Peter Outerbridge were old friends, and had played lovers MANY times in productions, so that's probably why Lila and Judy had such chemistry. The epilogue sequence where it tells you what happened to all the characters was added after the theatrical release was over. People kept asking Anne Wheeler what happened to the characters after. Wendy Crewson said that if she knew the director was going to focus on her feet during the, uh, vibrator scene, she would have gotten a pedicure before production. This was a movie of Mozartian proportions! 😁

I used to buy the relationship between Harper and Bradley but for me, after the end of season two, I lost the vibe between the two. I feel zero chemistry, largely because both of the actors are straight. The fake kisses are the worst.

Gosh this was one of the first lesbian films I watched in 2003, even before I realised I was gay a few months later. A lesbian friend recommended it to me, maybe already knowing that I was gay too. It was one of my favourite movies back then.
