Hi tom! I’m planning to replace my current fox 32 sc with a burlier fork because I scratched the stanchions pretty badly. I want to know your opinion on the fox 34 sc vs the rockshox sid ult with the 35mm stanchions. Which one do you like better, and why?
@tom10crafted4 сағат бұрын
Hey, it is hard to be objective, as SID Select+ I been riding lately was already 17k km on it. However, when comparing it with Fox SC, I would say main difference is ability to adjust LSC (low speed compression, on lockout top cap). That helps to eliminate small bumps pretty much completely! :) That is one of most noticeable differences, which would make me to choose Fox over RS.

Hi i had the same problem on my Duke Lucky jack sls2 6ters i had them since 2021 and the same crack happened to me last year. But i was not riding them as hard as i have less weight and not riding such demanding terrain. I guess thats a factory problem. Anyway they replaced mine for free of a new sls4 "under warranty" but my warranty already ran out. Very nice of Duke.

Could you tell please your opinion about POC gloves, that you using. Also how do they fit, true to size or small/ big? Which model? Thanks
@tom10crafted2 күн бұрын
I use two from POC, and both are great. Few bits: Savant MTB Glove - size is normal, very comfortable. Due to thin materials on the outside, tends to wear quickly. Resistance Enduro Glove - thicker, warmer, more protection, thus go one size bigger as they don't bend and stretch that much. I choose non-adjustable wrists, cause it is less annoying that way for me. Both are amazing when it comes to palms support. Been sliding on tarmac few times and the leather fabric remained in tact. That is a huge pro.

This dropper is hell to service, requires Fox proprietary tools which ain't cheap. It is doable at home though. What I managed to succeed with is 3D print the retention lug driver (PN: 398-00-838) and ask a LBS who offers Fox equipment service to unthread the topout cap with the driver (PN: 398-00-916). For the very first time you disassemble it, you most probably won't need any spare parts. Just make sure to clean everything and regrease according to the service manual (most probably the dropper will be almost bone dry from the factory which is what makes it stuck).
@tom10crafted6 күн бұрын
I would say most crucial tool is 398-00-916, others could be worked out in a way. Reason being - the edge of that nut is so thin, that with french wrench I was just not able to open it loose.. Lug driver in theory could be bypassed by drilling a hole in allen key (don't remember the diameter though). But considering how strong material of hexes is - could be a hell to do without proper tools onhand..

Hey man, Sudety in 2025 going to be mad mad race, as it is a mix of Beskidy & Sudety - thus, you will have lots of fun:) Terrain there is variable, from mud to hardpacked, and from roots to stones - it is a wide range mix of both. I would say having something with more rubber in front could help, but it very much depends on the skills, as usually..
