I was working with Henry & Rel on Paranormal Activity 3 when they made this ....and they said the only way John would agree was to get Tom to narrate! I didn't know catfishing was a thing until recently when found the videos online. I thought people struggled with long distance so how can they cope with a text relationship with someone they don't know? I'm impressed with how well Nev handled his situation and in turn has helped so many people figure out their catfish too. I just watched the film that launch it all last night and honestly felt sorry for the catfish. All that effort to achieve what? He handled it with unbelievable style and understanding, whereas lots just lose their temper at being lied to. It was a blessing in disguise for Nev as it has raised awareness that catfishing is a thing, while helping people discover the truth that could otherwise be really dangerous if they seeked it out by themselves. Meeting people from online is potentially really dangerous. Keep safe and only meet in crowded places. There are predictors online and you never really know who you are talking to even when they use their own photos. Lots of people can act and fake emotions (actors win awards for demonstrate their lying abilities) I wonder how many more people will get into fake relationships with images and video calls from people using AI images and videos. I know they are marketed for business but I'm guessing lots will use them to catfish.
