I shoot havc 4k S and have a v60 card, am I loosing quality? Should I switch to a v90?

No. It can limit some codecs in certain framerates depending on your camera model. But if it's working for the codecs you're shooting then it's all good.

At the bottom of the inspector window in the right hand side there's a dropdown menu. Yours may be set to 'Basic'. Change it to 'General' or 'Settings' and you should see the options.

I went to each video that I am working on and click Delete Generated Files but still the alert kept popping up. After I watched your video I cleared the Cache in the File and it has more space now what a relief! Thank you really appreciate your video! So if we have finished some videos and still working on a couple of videos, we can go still go to File and click Deleted Generated Files?

Glad the video helped! Yes you can delete the generated files as much as needed. If you use proxy or optimized files you can delete all of those when you're finished your project also. It won't delete your original files.

I am moving from FCP7 to FCPX. Unfortunately I was not able to export XML files from FCP7 before my comp went down. I have a new Mac and am reconstructing each project i had previously. My media lies across two external drives. As per my previous FCP7 workflow I had 10 different projects on the go. I am now looking for the best way to move forward and quite like how you have explained the process in FCPX. What advice would you have for me to begin? Thank you.

Every program has a learning curve. And comes with it's own set of pros and cons. You just have to find the ones that fits you best. For me that's still FCP. For others that Premeire or Resolve

Yes. But to be honest of you're only doing photos I don't think you'd need the additional monitoring features. And you're proabably able to get by with the basic features in the free Sony Creators app.

No. Once you're ready to export Final Cut will use the original files to give the highest quality. Optimized and proxy files are only for editing.

Hi there! Why do we need not transcode to optimized/proxy media with newer Macs? I've asked because I get the "storage full" message all the time while editing my travel vlogs, and I have an M2 chip Macbook Air. Am I filming using wrong settings from my iPhone? I don't film in ProRes, usually just 4K 24fps.

The reason I said that is the newer Macs handle compressed video formats really well. So you don't need to create additional files and take up extra space if your machine can handle the native files as they are. Hope that helps.
