This is awesome! Thanks for sharing! So interesting to see the CCP influence in this (and "Uproar in Heaven) to remove religion and use the characters as a metaphor for the strength of a unified people to overcome heaven and earth. They really changed this story quite a bit.👍🙏🙂

Nezha is a bit confusing; In most of the other versions it seemed to me he was played by a girl although this seems to be a boy, so difficult to tell sometimes. More recent versions definitely use males sone of them taller then monkey and some without the ring which just seems wrong. Depending on who is doing the translation, the he/she confusion is probably due to the the Chinese "Ta"; one word for both he and he. A common mistake in all the old Kung Fu movies.

Ne Zha is non- binary. He’s a he-she.

I just heard this in a market and it called to me. I recorded it and asked my friend to translate it. "Don't ask me where I am from..." She said, and I realized this song was connected to me somehow. So haunting. Celtic ballad grieving song. So lovely.

There are 'God of Wine and Alcohol' in Chinese mythology name 仪狄, Yidi. Legends said, Yidi was the first winemaker in China. He had created the alcoholic beverage as a gift to the emperor Yu the Great (c. 2100 BC).

Olivo!Olivo! No me preguntes de donde vengo. Mi origen es lejana ! Por qué vagabundeo A la lejanía vagabundeo?

What fascinates me is that Chinese Uyghur dance is so similar to USSR Uzbek dance while USSR Uyghur dance has been developed so differently in the USSR. At the same time it seems to me that in current day Central Asia Uyghur dance looks much more like the Chinese version of these dances.

And ten years after you uploaded this, Uyghur culture is being actively destroyed. But their dances will undoubtedly live on.
