IF YOU EVER DECIDE TO GO OUT TO THAT NATIONAL CACTUS PARK OUT WEST YOU MAY BE TEMPTED TO SHAVE ONE OF THE WOLVES THERE. NO SHAME IN THAT. WE ALL WANT TO SHAVE A WOLF AT SOME POINT IN OUR LIVES. BUT IS IT REALLY NECESSARY? WOLVES CONSTANTLY SHED THEIR FUR. BUT STILL, IT'S BEEN A DREAM OF YOURS TO SHAVE A WOLF SINCE YOU WERE A CHILD. WE'VE ALL BEEN THERE. BUT THIS MAY BE THE GREATEST EXERCISE OF SELF CONTROL YOU'LL EVER HAVE. RESIST THE NEED AND JUST LET THE WOLVES BE. BUT WAIT! YOU CAN GO TO THE LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTER AND ADOPT A DOG. THEN YOU CAN SHAVE THAT ONE! DOGS ARE IN THE SAME FAMILY AS WOLVES AND WON'T YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS BE IMPRESSED!

It's all about the concessions and the money (city deal). During the pandemic it shut down when all the other beaches were open. The tourists who had to pay $7 then were not allowed to come to Hawaii or face being locked down in a hotel if test didn't get received before arrival). They only opened when tourists were allowed back in but there weren't so many. So, it was opened at $25 to make up lost revenue (under the guise of water turbidity which is all about swell and rain).

Regarding the wet and cold, I wear wool clothing because it will keep you warm even when wet and it doesn’t smell bad like synthetic clothing does when it gets wet or sweaty. I have a (merino, smart-wool) light weight t-shirt, a light weight long sleeved shirt, and for cold weather riding (eg. In the 50’s or 40’s) a mid-weight long sleeved pull over. I generally avoid riding in the rain but when it does rain I have a nylon rain jacket I throw over the wool clothing. Works great for me. Hope that helps. Thanks for this vid

Started off promising but failed with the overall message and narrative of the vlog. Cape Town isn’t as dangerous as what you make it out to be (as long as you avoid certain areas ie CERTAIN (not all areas). I am truly sorry for what happened to your friend in Long Street. My guess is that he simply presented himself as an easy target (a mistake all of us have done at least momentarily when visiting a new country for the first time)…or the person who robbed you was drugged-up and unhinged which often is the case with these homeless street-beggars, common to that part of town (doesn’t make it any less dangerous for you guys, I’d agree) Regarding your local friend who takes all those precautions when driving or going to sleep at night…I guess it’s not a bad idea for anyone to take these precautionary measures but I can assure you that it’s a small percentage of people that lives this way. (The driving precautions she practices as a female i can fully get behind as it’s common sense however sleeping with a knife under a pillow is definitely not the norm) I have travelled to many countries around the world and am the first to say that there are many many countries and cities that just gives off that immediate feeling of being safe (CT is not one of them but at the same time, it doesn’t at all scream DANGER)…most countries I’ve been to you can walk around late at night, some even at 2 or 3am alone feeling completely safe. So if that’s your bench mark then yeah, CT is nowhere near as safe to anything you’ll come across in some other countries. Maybe because I grew up my entire life in CT, I’m being a little unfair and biased as I hardly ever feel unsafe when going about my daily routine, be it during the day or when driving late on the roads at night. Don’t get me wrong, I’m well aware of the dangers that CT presents and which parts to avoid etc definitely not being naive. Perhaps that is true for any local in any city around the world - you’d probably get a similar answer from the locals living in New York, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore or Atlanta. Perhaps also why I find Rio de Janeiro to be home away from home for me because of all that danger (sketchiness as you put it) For me that makes the city that much more alive and exciting. For the record, Rio is definitely not one of those cities one can walk alone at 2am at night unless if you’re out partying in Centro (downtown) but that’s a whole nother level of sketchiness 😂 but I love it nonetheless. It’s unfortunate this seems to be everyone’s view on the topic of safety regarding Cape Town - I do hope you come back and give CT another chance someday. Ps: to truly get a better understanding of your question….ask 10 people and you’ll easily get 10 different responses on whether or not CT is safe for tourists.
