Man i am looking for exhaust for my n54 and ibtryed bunch of different options and i cant find any nice sounding one. I gues they all suck. All the new bmws sucks in sound. My last optio is Magnaflow 14816. Same as i had on my e39 M5. Or the vangourd . What is your opinion on the exhausts on n54? What is your favorite one?

@@godla26 I do like the magnifier kit as it sounds pretty similar to an S55. these cars all tend to sound very similar regardless on the exhaust set up. The only thing that drastically changes them is going to a single turbo set up. In my opinion. I think this set up is one of the best for all around. As long as you do downpipes, most performance exhaust will sounds great

Any updates? I have full bolt on and 19ts need a new clutch soon but I don’t want to get something super stiff because i sit in traffic 1hr a day

@@raf1320 depends how much power you were running. Twin turbos tend to create a lot of low and torque that will likely be too much for this clutch. Your next option is a DKM twin twin disk or a spec stage 3

I am currently working on prepping the Z1 Offroad all aluminum radiator bundle for my '06 Pathfinder and am going electric with the fans. I am using Perma cool fans and the same controller as you. Is there anyway to get a mid-speed and full speed option from just the controller? I messed with the fan at home and tested with an LED light dimmer, which did control the speed but that was just testing; looking for a more applicable solution for installing the fans in the engine bay. 🤔

@@mo4low it’s possible to do so, but you may even need two controllers. The way that these fans are wired it will change the speed depending on which pins have power. Theoretically, all you need is another circuit to provide power to the extra pin. the controller I used is just a single relay essentially. When it reaches the target temp, it closes the circuit if you had two of them you could do it.

If you’re doing this by yourself and don’t have a full shop to service it don’t take the inlet off is the biggest pain in the ass and you can do it without it😂

Loosen the two bolts and slide it around you can get just enough room to put an extension on the 10 and a breaker bar to pop off those bolts saves you about an hours worth of time trying to take everything off probably another time trying to put the damn thing back on it’s never as easy as it looks

Not exactly. The double check what bulb your projector takes and find a matching led. The LCI has a Bixenon projector and is high/low for the same bulb

You can make that motor a little quicker but it won’t be with these cars without spending money on things like Cams. Cheaper to buy a 3.0 than a set of Strict cams. An exhaust and a tune will definitely wake your car up though. Drivability changes as the throttle is more snappy and the Vanos advances timing sooner

You have to add some Resistors to trick the car. I had some 50w resistors so I word them in parallel to the bulb. No error light

gotta say man, this was a big inspiration for my build, ended up with a fully self ported and polished head, +2mm lift and duration cam, roller rockers, bbr valve springs, valve lapping, milled the head down, weisco 11:1 stock bore, 4k-12k rpm selectable cdi, oil cooler and more im sure I'm forgetting.

Sounds like it’s gonna be a blast. I had a hard time sourcing parts back when I built mine. Couldn’t find any reputable options for cams and springs that wasn’t $800

@@garbinsgarage kinda had the same issues but ended up finding an alibaba express one that was crf230 purpose built and claimed +2 mm for under $50 and the roller rockers where under $25 and actually the bbr valve springs costed about the same as roller rockers and cam combined. only down side was can and rockers where China shipped.

I’ve had them for a year now and no complaints. I did white line sway bars as well. I would justify the price difference of b4/b6/b8 if I went with aftermarket springs. But even b4s are totally fine for that.

The labor would be similar to that of doing an oil pan gasket. (7-8 hours labor). Another method most shops will actually perform is a safety wire one
