Why is Intel spending money on this super low end of the market? Trying to kill off the ARM based small cheap computers (which has really helped the support for ARM OS and compatibility work)? Because X86 is still WAY easier to deal with than ARM. Stuff just works. And at such low power usage... wow. This is not much more than some of the more powerful Pi versions. Pi 5? Hmm.. Intel scared or ARM? They probably should be since Apple M1. Crazy to think Intel has been making CPUs to meet the same instruction sets for like 45 years now. It's probably time to drop all that old support to trim down the CPUs and power use.

The thermals are a concern imo- you want a tiny PC because you want to stick it someplace cramped. But that would kill this thing if unlocked to 15 watts. That's more an issue with the case/fan design though... the CPU and GPU are quite good for such low power units (from Intel). The CPU is on par with a 65 watt i5-7500, and the the GPU is about twice as powerful a GT 730 (more like a GTX 650)- assuming the PC can run at 15 watts. Kind of weird that Intel now has the cheap CPU with iGPU market with these new chips. AMD's lowest Ryzen is the Ryzen 3 7320U (iirc- all the A, E, and Athlons are gone from mobile), which is about double the CPU power but 2/3rds the iGPU power. Probably a much better laptop CPU... but AMD used to have much better iGPUs on the lower end. I guess since their more expensive CPUs are so good now (public image takes a while- and it's finally really good).. they don't have to scratch the lower end for sales.

Promise you won't go down the ARM SBC hole... at least for now? I've seen enough RasPi-like reviews to last a lifetime.

I used to be interested in Nvidia up to the 30 series. I had pc hardware that was 8 years old and I could tell my hardware was agimg. A general 3060 was $400. An RX6600XT was $400. I also heard if Linux was on the mind (which did turn out to be the case because 2 years later, I've converted) that AMD was "automatic kernel support". I got everything I wanted out of games, old and new. Adrenalin drivers are a mixed bag you have to tweak. Windows got on my nerves and I went to Linux. Let's say, even if I wanted to, most games perform well out of the box. UAC controls are absent, and I'm grateful. DLSS isn't present, and in a way, I appreciate it. Why? Because Nvidia seems to be using it as a crutch. So I guess you can say I made all the changes.

Oh a tip for bioshock. Turn off mouse acceleration from windows. It doesn't give you an option for raw mouse input, so turning off "enhance pointer precision" will help the game feel much better.

You showed us, "the greatest games that are ever made.", before the "greatest technician thats ever lived." could do this. Since you included hades, you can even try the devil may cry HD collection and devil may cry 4, both are relatively low spec games and devil may cry 3 and 4 still hold up well in 2024 when it comes to combat

You know I'm your overly biased AMD fan so it pains me to give Intel chips props lol ... but I do like seeing mini PCs and how far they've come. With the right expectations this tiny and cheap computing solution is really awesome if you ask me. With as much as I've gotten out of my Steam Deck lately I think there's a real chance I don't build big ole desktops anymore once my current rig is too slow (very long time lol).. I'll just get whatever decent spec mini PC and a handheld (probably some kinda Steam Deck 3) and call it a day.

Everyone, don't buy this. I tried it out on Amazon, it came with a messed up Windows install that would NOT reset as it kept erroring when I tried (also was somewhat preset out the box which is never a good sign, most likely had some time of malware preinstalled) the drivers for it as well you have to download off the companies shady Google drive link .( which majority of time says too many have downloaded so you have to wait a while.) I tried to run a windows defender full scan to check for said suspected malware and it would keep erroring out which further lead me to believe there was indeed something on this, and finally when I got it to reset windows through the advanced startup, it straight up bricked the PC. All on top of the performance of this thing was at a crawl, it was hilariously slow at doing anything, and the CPU was always near 90-100% to do any simple task. This was probably one of the biggest scams of a PC I've ever dealt with, and the fact too Amazon didn't even want to take the return back made me laugh. Avoid this thing like the plague.

In my country this ting is a beast you can buy an i7 from 3rd gen for 70 dolars and this thing for less than 30 bucks (in my contry the best you can get for that is a 730 or a random 750ti) and get a under 100 dolar build that can run most of the games out

Again, failing to understand new technologies in game engines and how they work is the culprit of many misinformation on the "tech channels". Seeing how 4090 can use up ~17GB of VRAM in Diablo IV @ 1080p tells you everything you need to know but people will insist that 8GB is not enough because they look at VRAM usage and draw their conclusion solely on that. To all of those people, I present to you - caching! Using excess vram to store data closer to the gpu is thing for past 3 or so years. You can A B test this using same brand of the gpu with different VRAM size and observe the gpu with more vram using more vram for the same thing producing almost the same performance as the one with less vram while the one with less vram will not stutter or exhibit any problems that come along with the lack of vram. Of course there are 3 or maybe 4 console ports that will exhibit stutters, but that is due to lazy porting.
