Wow a walk down memory lane... To see all the old buildings again leaves a lump in My throat 💔

14 years on from the 7.1, I still find myself coming back to this video every anniversary, still in disbelief that it ever happened. The city may be rebuilding well, but many, many people still struggle from the trauma that arised from the quakes. Kia Kaha Christchurch, I can't wait until the day that our city is truly in it's new era, in memory of those we lost this tragic day.

Of the clips I've seen of this seismic event after it happened, yours shows the most damage. I was in LA for every big one since Sylmar through Northridge. Those who've never experienced one have no idea how terrifying they can be. It's a miracle that more people didn't perish.

What’s even sadder about this tragedy is that so many of the victims were foreign exchange students😢 It’s so sad that so many people lost their lives and this day will remain as a horrible disaster in NZ history

So many funny things here. Jodie Sweetin ended up being a topless weather girl, the two Olsen twins became mega rich businesswomen and the blonde not so attractive guy, was the subject of an Alannis Morrissette song re the guy she goes down on in a theatre (he was the boyfriend she was so angry about on her hit album Jagged Little Pill).

Seeing people helping one another, no matter the race, age, creed or occupation is the most heartwarming thing . Gives me faith in humanity. As much as I'm bawling watching this I can't help but admire the every day men and woman helping those who need help . Its the people coming together that are the heroes . Makes me feel so much pride for us as Kiwis

I was 1 year and 10 months old when that happened and I am still able to remember what happened and I live 45mins from Christchurch in leeston and it was still really bad out here. I know someone whos cousin was in a Bus that got churched in that earthquake and he was under 15 years old when he died. Christchurch has changed forever since the earthquake. There are entire suburbs destroyed and all that is left are the roads near new Brighton Very Sad
