We wanted to take a second to address this. We liked the old way as well. RJ's injury has forced us to make some changes. What we are hearing is that you'd prefer not to see RJ bowl at all. We will take that under advisement going forward.
@LaneSideReviews
@LaneSideReviews Күн бұрын
We do have a question: RJ's ball speed and rev rate are almost identical to what they were when he was one-handed. As a two-handed bowler he is still a rev dominant bowler, and plays about the same place on the lane. What is the difference between him bowling one or two handed? We're not trying to cause conflict, We are genuinely interested! We're taking your comments under advisement going into the new year.
@charlielamb5090
@charlielamb5090 Күн бұрын
@LaneSideReviews you can't see his revs on video, I would hope it would be the same or greater. His speed appears to be much slower than 1 handed. If your stats the same, why do you start so far left. You never throw over 1st 2nd and usually 3rd arrow. You start 4th arrow and move left. If stats are same you are not playing your "benchmark " starting position of 1 handed days. Plus I don't need you to spend 3 minutes on your 2ls layout every video....snore...

@LaneSideReviews

The Tundra Blue fire will be longer than the Strike. The Strike will be like the Low flare but cleaner and slightly more angular. It's a really good step in between the two balls.

I was coached to never push the ball up and then out. Instead, just push it in front and drop into my swing. Am I wrong?😊😊😊
@LaneSideReviews
@LaneSideReviews Күн бұрын
Ultimately you want it to go out and down as it falls into it's swing, however depending on your timing and the ball speed you are aiming for, there may be some upward movement in the swing. It IS something that Scoops has been working on (more out and down). We should revisit this!

Nice. I will take this idea with me to this weekend's tournament. A month ago at a practice session I made a concerted effort to throw my straight ball faster at the cursed 10 pin, to avoid the slight hook that makes me miss by a centimeter and thereby inspires the urge to bang my head through the floor. That has helped me bigly to the point that now I don't particularly fear the 10 pin. The other day my only 2 spares were both 10 pin pickups that kept my game clean.
@JAW_73

Probably a good choice for layout. Mine was drilled pin over bridge, MB in thumb. If I don't put a strong release and rotation on this thing, it wants to roll forward very very quickly.
@LaneSideReviews
@LaneSideReviews Күн бұрын
If you're lower tilt, I would agree. That layout might not match up with your style. I can tell you that there are very few people I've met who don't need a short pin in their lives!

Ordered one for myself. I love that the strong 4x30 layout on the NU was so close to the weak 5.5x65 layout on the original Rattler. Exactly the reaction I’m looking for on the fresh house shot. Have you tried other layouts or surfaces on the NU yet?
@LaneSideReviews
@LaneSideReviews 9 күн бұрын
RJ shined it up for practice and can confirm that you can really speed up the reaction if you want to. He's working on a comparison video with more urethane, but it won't come out until after bowl expo

this ball is on my short list of big asym solids to add to the bag for tournaments with heavy oil... getting by with the Power Torq as my big solid currently and doing well, just not as versatile as this ball appears with similar differential and added asymmetry that is worth a look. Power Torq continues to washout when out of bounds to the right on tougher shots, not enough to get back from wide.
@LaneSideReviews
@LaneSideReviews 9 күн бұрын
This is certainly a big asym. RJ keeps it around for when he needs a solid ball that can recover from anywhere.

@@LaneSideReviews My paperback copy was delivered by Amazon this afternoon, and I just finished my first read through of it. Very impressed with the detail. Not just in the HOW of PAL, but the WHY of everything that goes along with it. You don't just teach us how to do it, you explain why it matters. I've honestly used DA, VLS, 2LS and PAL interchangeably, without much thought since I began drilling in my garage a year and a half ago, because there's never been great source of information for any of those systems in relation to 2 handed bowlers. Your book is the best single source of information available for any system. Good job.

This looks like it could be my new go to out of the bag first at league. Currently using a GB2 and even with the surface knocked way down I will throw it right through the breakpoint or hang on in the oil playing super straight. Strong Asym without a crazy jumping back end looks nice. Looks a smoother more controllable big core ball compared to my widow 2.0 hybrid. Im sure a lot of that is due to the surface finish difference. Anyway, 2handed 400ish revs about 15/16mph at the pins this looks like its in my wheel house and its a Mo ball!

Those are some big angles for a urethane shape. Usually you want urethane so you can close your angles so this ball seems like a bit of a tweener.
@LaneSideReviews
@LaneSideReviews 29 күн бұрын
If you look at the Purple and Nu Blue videos, RJ's angles are always open with Urethane because of his ball speed. You can only counter so much rotation.

In the center I bowl in they have changed the type of oil they use, I believe it's curve conditioner and the lanes are old spl. This isn't a good thing for my game, the new conditioner seems to grip the ball and not allow for the skid phase to be as long as it used to be and so the equipment I have currently burns up and hits flat, so I think it's time for a change, like a ball that's designed to be longer and give me more skid , the problem with some of these type of balls that skid more is that they react sharp down lane and I don't like that kind of reaction I really need more skid with a smooth reaction off the spot and it's so hard to tell from just watching a video if the ball is like that. So is the new tundra fire smooth off the spot in your opinion?
@LaneSideReviews
@LaneSideReviews 29 күн бұрын
Yes, this will help. The Higher RG core won't spin up and use it's energy so quickly. it will be much cleaner. This is exactly what it's designed for.
