Very nice!! I’m getting a bit nervous about my maiden, nose wheel, door, CG, current draw and capacity. Probably I’ll go even for the maiden on LiIon 6S2P 9000mAh with 850g. Still OK weight …. Posted my questions on the short :) And now I see you have tailerons! Should I do this for maiden or leave the ailerons? THANKS!! Looking forward for your new turbine bird :) spoiler mode 🤣

Wow she rolls nice even after take off 👍🏼 Have you done some high alpha shenanigans? On Sunday I was practicing on my 70mm and now I know two options to come into a low high alpha pass and also did some low high alpha circles with rudder and ailerons. On the turns I need to be more sensitive with throttle to keep enough high but it’s a cool training. Maidening my V1 I’ll probably not do that immediately because a crash would brake much more than on the lighter smaller ones 🤣 And how about gras ops? I’ve heard the front gear door would come off quickly. If I look out gras now in winter I can imagine that will happen to me to… should I use a more aft CG to have less pressure in the front?

I just picked a V1 up used, got 3 flights on it, and it flies great with a modern power system on 6s. CG is critical on this one!

In about to Maiden that Same one but I’ll put in the newer 3668 for gras ops. The kit is new. Should I do any improvements servo-wise or something Else? CG back from manual? Or what do you say about critical? I’ve changed the cg form the 70mm one and now she flies much better!

Funny timing, bro-I just maidened my used F-16C 90mm V1 yesterday on the 1960kv/120a Freewing combo. Had some fun. I got ailerons, tailerons, and flaperons on a Hobbyeagle gyro. What timing are you using? Mine came with the default 15 degrees out the box and it was slow. Bumped it up to 25 degrees and it felt "alright". Are you running the full 30 degrees of timing? And hey, whats your sweet spot on timing??? Oh, and for anyone locked out of Spektrum gyros, the Hobbyeagle can get super smooth results. Just set it to “Very Stable” in advanced settings and tweak from there. Definitely worth a try!

Thanks for the great video. I had one more question. Do you have a video out how to set up the tailors so that I could use flaps and fly with the rear end of the jet?

Depending on where you mount your receiver, this is one that may need a satellite receiver. I mounted my receiver in front, and it would lose signal right after takeoff.

My receiver is under the battery middle battery tray. As far back as I can get it. One antenna is vertical on the right and one horizontal sticking slightly out the battery vent hole under the bottom.

nice flying, and awesome landings! I couldnt help noticing your battery checker is only a Lipo and not an LIHV checker, so if you only charged it as a lipo it would be at 38% but if you were on LIHV it would only be around 15-20%, so pretty much spot on for flight time.

LOVE the intro!!! Those Graphene packs have always been good but a lil heavy. I have had a few and none of them gave me issues! I fly mine with the missiles on and with a pretty big Socokin 7200mah pack and its just amazing! Looks like lotsa flight time with the 6000 too!! That second landing was way better but this plane actually slows down really well if you get it in the right attitude when landing even without the flaperons. Once you get more used to it you will see what I mean... Nice video guys!!

@rcpilotwill 12 күн бұрын
@gooniac33 Thanks bro. That 1st landing was trash 😆. She is a very nice flying jet and for my 1st X-Fly I love it. I was very impressed with the way it handled the graphene pack and went vertical with ease. It wasn't flying heavy at all. I do agree the more I fly it the more I'll get use to it and will have better slow flight control. It's time for touch-and-go practice.

Nice flight, Will! Which afterburner are yu using? I noticed that it only lights up rather late - is it a programmable one, or did you use a spare channel and used a throttle mix?

I've had one of these for about 2 yrs now. It's definitely up there as one of the best sounding edfs. I changed the 2200kv straight away for a 2000kv and ran it on 7s. It flies absolutely beautifully but it's main problem is it's weight. That fancy gear weighs more than necessary and the other gripe is I don't like how fidgety it is to get the battery in. Apart from great jet. Sold it to my friend and after a few flights he didn't like it as he was expecting it to he like his super lightweight 64mm version where he's super confident with.
@rcpilotwill
@rcpilotwill 13 күн бұрын
Have you tried pairing it with a Panther Graphene pack or SMCHV Pack? I gotta say I have modified 80mm edfs and this power system right out of the box is great to me.

@rcpilotwill no just CNHL 70c 4000 7s. Plenty oomph just she's a heavy bird with small wings. Performance is fine, much quicker than the F16 80mm. Just you know she's heavy and she's also quite large. Almost a FW 90mm F18 size. I'm not a fan of the 2200kv smaller motor. The 2100kv on 7s is ok. But the 2200kv on 6s pushes that 100A ESC to the max.
@rcpilotwill
@rcpilotwill 13 күн бұрын
@M4rkmcc21 i do have a 1950kv Viper 90 motor I'd like to try but the ESC would have to change as well. The motor can fit the 80mm housing no problem. I fear that the flight time may suffer.
@M4rkmcc21
@M4rkmcc21 13 күн бұрын
@rcpilotwill I think it's different fittings to swap the 90 motor into the 80 housing. Worth a go though! I'd imagine it would be more efficient than the viper90 spooling up a smaller diameter fan. Definitely post a video if you do the swap!

fyi the design of intakes, exits and internal ducting NEEDs to be compatible with the edf being used.!!! it, therefore, may be a less-than good idea to use a larger-than stock edf. there is a high-pitched component in the edf noise that may a symptom of incompatibility.
@rcpilotwill
@rcpilotwill 14 күн бұрын
True statement. In this video the model is made for a 90mm edf. I'm just using a motor with less weight weight and more kv. Also requires less amps.

If you'll go into Model Adjust, Servo Setup, and then Names, you can rename the channels so that the new names will tell you what they do. It helps a lot when you're using AUX2 and above for gyro modes and gains.
