Mr. Bailey is one of the OG's of when I started at TKD Plus in the 90s. We were in NC, so I was never fortunate enough to train with Mr. Bailey. I was an admirer of his skills and knowledge. I wish some of the Alabama/southern instructor greats came to our school (James Bailey, Marv Conway, Art Monroe, Rick Hall, Craig Kollars, etc), but we were never that lucky.

Mr Bailey taught me when I was a child. I am about the same age as his kids. We were in the same classes. I have video of me and his kids from the original James Bailey Taekwondo building.

Thank you for such a wonderful video! I know I'm a bit late in finding it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. My name is Darren Surman and I had the wonderful pleasure of being one of Mr. Bailey's students back in the early '90's. (I started in the Wood Square location. I then took classes in the Northport location next to Agee Chiropractic. I'm proud to say that I was awarded the first black belt in, what was then, the new Bailey's Taekwondo after it was built at the 13th st. location.) My experience with Mr. Bailey, the discipline and character that he taught, were all life-affirming and upbuilding. I'm very grateful for the experience. All the best to Mr. James Bailey, his family, and his continuing work in the martial arts.

Good day Mr. Holt. I am glad I stumbled across your KZbin page. I asked Senior Grand Master (SGM) Calhoun yesterday, if he knew you and what his overall impressions were like. They were of course all favorable. I just recently started practicing Taekwondo under SGM Calhoun and I love it. Now, your videos have been nothing but helpful to me and my success at Tiger Rock. I have been allowed to attend the upcoming April 2022 belt testing event for my yellow belt. I know this is the second step to my long journey with Rise. However, I choose to live the life of Ho' Am Taekwondo. After testing, I will learn to commit myself further to the art only better myself. Finally, my wife is also taking Taekwondo and we both watch your informative videos. Thanks again sir for the great material that you put out for aid the Tiger Rock community. Matthew

Mr. Bailey, one of the strongest statements in this very powerful interview is the absolute importance of the people that you chose to surround you and that chose you to be a leader in this organization. That team spirit you inspire has been essential in my own journey. As life has taken its various twists and turns, that strong core (or is it Corps) has taken the strain, leveled the load and lifts each of us so we may “stand on the shoulders of Giants”. I certainly appreciate the fact Mr. Holt persuaded you to do this. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to hear the story and to see it preserved for the generations of students for whom you helped build this path. I am grateful for you, your perseverance (and seemingly endless patience) as well as the instructors and mentors you have trained, inspired and led throughout this organization. With gratitude and respect, The Dicksons

My son just started here at TR. If your on the fence about doing this. I would urge you to stop in, and watch a class. The quality of the people instructing here is just pure excellence. Hats off to TR, and an awesome staff.
