Trials will never be popular as long as it uses such silly routes and rules. 'Jump up on a rock, jump down that rock, jump around in the sand, jump back up the same rock, jump down again'... 'transition from one log to another, lose it all cuz you were possibly slightly too far somewhere'. Trials should, and probably would, be as popular as every other bike extreme sport. But it never will be with these esoteric and dumb rules. It's really quite a shame... Anyways, AWESOME riding, Charlie. Way to get it done while feeling like manure. 👍😅

Ive just tuned back into trials after 15 years and im so blown away by charlies riding. I am actually shocked he gets beaten given how clean and fast he is through the sections.

Amazing achievement in what is one of the most difficult sports in the world. Well done and I hope you have a great 2025.

I've said it before... Trials comps are so badly set up, nobody is ever going to casually watch them. Go here, go there, go around that, jump up, jump down, go around, jump back up the same thing. The vast majority of people will have no idea what's going on and just think that the rider is doing whatever they want and being kinda goofy jumping up and down on the same thing over and over from different angles; they'll think it's cool looking but pointless and silly. You wouldn't even need much extra space to do it so much better. Just have a winding path. Put a bunch of stuff down, have one path that needs to be followed that's very clearly marked so everyone can understand it, then let the riders do whatever they want to do to get from the start to the finish. (and no silly judge running around following them 😅) Trials should be massively more popular, heck, it should be in the Xgames (Olympics? 😉)... But it's NEVER going to gain any traction looking like this.
