Awesome video thank you for locating it and sharing it. It is the raw Chicago Transit Authority! Same as I witnessed in 1968 at Montreal‘s open theatre at the former expo 67 island. Terry Kath was such an amazing guitarist. But I’m also loving the amazing placements of horns. To enjoy multiple instrumental solos in one song is just so cool. They are great. Don’t get me wrong. I love Chicago today but the earlier.CTA version remains 👍👍👍

I have always thought Terry Kath was the greatest thing to ever to ever happen to music. His songs were often about things going on in this country. He hated war. "It better end soon" is one on many of his songs I love, and all the others about regular life and living. Color my World. I could go on and on. It was such a loss to loose him, for us music lovers and for his thoughts on were this country was going. It would have been interesting to hear his songs going forward.

As talented as Chicago was in the early days I have yet to understand how or why Terry Kath never appears on any list of great guitarists. As others have mentioned David Foster sold records but the heart and soul of Chicago was never the same. They lost that edgy, raw quality their music had in the early days with Terry Kath.

Terry oozes talent. Amazing how the group was sabotaged by the pablum of Peter Cetera- who sabataged his own immense talent with this meandering shit. Great bass player. Great singer who understood tonality and phrasing. Excellent understanding of compositional structure and melody- even in this pile of dreck. All do phenomenal things wasted It is like a shitty Jerry Lewis movie, where Jerry displays outrageous talent.

I love Terry as much as any other true Chicago fan but please...stop with the b.s. cliches. He was a great guitarist but certainly not a Jimi Hendrix. He was imaginative and at times brilliant. On other occasions, he Sucked Hard. Especially when too high to concentrate on his performance .

HA!!! As a big fan since close to the beginning, I never noticed when he played poorly but he wasn’t one of the “greatest” ever either.

I saw Terry and the band 8 times. Of course, the whole band was good but when Terry left us too early it changed the whole group dynamic. I just had a custom T-shirt made that says, "Yes I'm old but at least I got to see Terry Kath play."

I was a huge Chicago fan right from the beginning, mostly because of Terry. I’ve cried over celeb deaths but never as much as I did when Terry passed. My mum didn’t know what to do with me, I was completely inconsolable. I’m grateful for these videos but it still rips my heart out. Such an incredible person and talent gone wayyyy too soon.

In 1968, I attended the Jimi Hendrix concert at the Indiana Fairgrounds Coliseum and the back up band was The Chicago Transit Authority. We had never heard of these guys. Then they came out blasting “Introduction” as their lead song, and we were all TOTALLY blown away. Kath was bigger than life!! Plus, we had never heard of such a thing as a rock band with horns!! OMG! One of my life’s greatest experiences!!❤❤❤

Our band in high school had a jazz section . We played Chicago, BS& T and even Big Band pieces. Those were the days.
