Despite being one of the highest quality entries of Turkey in the history of Eurovision, the Eurovision juries could not measure the value of this wise piece very much because there was a military coup in Turkey at that time. In addition, the traditional prejudice in Europe against Turkey prevented the formation of an objective point of view. The song is actually extremely political and describes how a handful of oil exporting countries are crushing many other oil dependent countries. Although an orientalist music is formed in the ears of foreign listeners at the first moment, the lyrics contain an extremely political humor. Ajda Pekkan actually said, "Oh oil, you have kicked the shit out of us, third world countries. We can't do with you, we can't also do without you. You have ruined us." The word "oil" is written in the form of "Peter's Oil", dedicated to the person who first discovered it. Şanar Yurdatapan, who wrote the lyrics of the song, is a left-wing musician in Turkey.

One of my favourite entries. So underrated!!!! Claudia was 17 back then and competed with such a powerful and empowering song about women for 20 years ago. Fun fact: Had a crash with backing singer Sasa 😊😅

Happy to know that Nina will represent Montenegro in Switzerland. Neonoen had to withdraw because somebody posted 8 seconds of their song from some music concert that was held in Montenegro in 2023. Unfortunately for them, they broke the rules and withdraw because they didn't want to be "bad guys" from the audience until the may, so that's why they had to withdraw. Good luck to Nina! This song needs a revamp, so there is a chance to pass to the final.

It's just eh. Nothing original, nothing new, quite bland... Why would you come back, pay your 100k+ euro's and then this appears =/

I much prefer this than meaningless songs that some countries are going to be bringing to ESC (i.e Estonia with Espresso Macchiato)

And remember that Nina is not someone new to Eurovision because she represented Montenegro in 2013 with the song Igranka as a featured artist of the hip hop duo Who See
@055f008 күн бұрын
Not really a featured artist, more an uncredited vocalist

I've seen other people comment that this isn't a traditional Balkan ballad as much as it's a James Bond-esque Balkan ballad. I agree with that assessment 100%. I preferred Clickbait, but I'm fine with this.

Love this - I think it's quite mature sound of Montenegrin rock. Is it `neo rock`? Full blast Rock never does well at Eurovision ie Lords of the Lost. It needs to be `approachable`. It needs to be non-rock song dressed up as a rock song.
