Best band ever. (OK, maybe the Beatles) Squire, Howe and Anderson singing three different parts at the same time while the whole band rocked. They did it a few times over the years - unreal talent. RIP, Mr. Squire and Mr. White.

I think timing was important to start the song properly after ‘Best Days of Our Lives’ and later to cue the tape of the kids singing

Interestingly there does not seem to be any sign of Rick being Topographically disgruntled.

Two Master Prog legends who were then trail blazers and opened the way with so much skill and virtuosity as musicians. I saw that tour a few days after this interview in Montreal at the Forum, that event changed my life forever, thanks for posting!

Waters' vocals sound too good to be true, this must have been overdubbed and/or synced to the album surely ? If not what happened to his voice between 81 and 87 when it was completely shot ?!

This is as it was, I saw them in Nassau in '81. He was at his best here vocally, far better in fact than in '77 when they toured the animals record. He struggled in the stadiums that year. And yeah by the late 80's agreed, he was rough once again. This was truly his vocal peak during the wall shows. Gilmour on the other hand, always excellent decade after decade I think.

It was his Pros and Cons tour. Had backing tapes for some songs/lines to prevent him straining his vocal cords but he screamed his head off on so many others an damaged his voice permanently. Here's one to give you idea. Try Sexual Revolution afterwards if you can stomach it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKrNlo2Laax6o6s

Definitely using a backing tape, sounds far too good, Floyd hated playing live, 100% studio band.

@@EsteemedRepresentative Thanks for the link. This looks like an "official" release too being on Rog's channel, had no idea The P&Cs tour was officially available... Anyway the is scary indeed, he can't even scream "wall" with his shot voice. As usual Rog' never listened to anyone and by KAOS his voice was gone...

@@Peakabike That's the weird thing. It LOOKS like his channel but I found a bunch of stuff here and yet I'll find his channel and this stuff ISN'T there. Strange. It's nice to find someone who can look at this objectively and not say, "ROGER WOULD NEVER LIP-SYNC!"

Yes he really does, doesn't he? I was sitting here listening, admiring his naturally-blonde hair, and guesstimating he had two blonde parents to produce such fairness in Rick 🤗. So, stumbling onto your comment makes me happy, as they do indeed resemble each other! 💕

Gregg Lake once said he hated to play keyboards for the Abbadon's Bolero live because it was too complex and it was not performed well. I saw a you tube video where it took 6 musicians to recreate the Abbadon's Bolero.

When one considers the skill level of bands like Yes, Floyd and Zeppelin, one must wonder why the music of today has generally degraded so much.

They were both exhausted, Wakeman especially so. He was already complaining about the band's insistence on playing all four sides of 'Topographic' live, saying it was 'killing him'. Also, the reaction of audiences to this musical bombardment was unnerving him. He could easily see, from the stage, the boredom and restlessness on the faces of many in the crowd, the shouts of 'Roundabout!!' that echoed periodically amongst the crowd. To Wakeman, it was clear that playing the entire album live to the exclusion of all else was a mistake but, since the other members wouldn't listen, he soon quit the band.

6:50 - that'll be Steve's Bristol. No doubt Rick was nursing his wallet in Switzerland at this juncture, so might it have been Alan who set up the little synth pattern?
@MrKayley10

That synth-like sound is actually Chris's bass put through an Eventide Harmonizer. If you listen closely to Chris's bass line, the "synth" follows it like an octave shifted delay.
