Some o the Aliens design are too similar to the ones from the fifth element. Luc Besson likes to homage himself I guess.

Arguably the saddest marvel scene ever, everything was heart wrenching, gamora, rocket, drax, peter, and yondu, makes me cry every time

Marvel’s use of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” was brilliant. The first time they used it when Star Lord, Gamora, and Drax were leaving Rocket, Groot, and Nebula to go with Ego. The song symbolized “Would the chain would break?” (would the guardians fall apart). But now using it when Star Lord is fighting back to protect his found family, it showed “It would never break the chain!” (the guardians are staying together and they’re strong together). I love the way they use this song!

I haven’t seen this movie. But it sounds like this scene should have been given dialogue and extended to take up a much larger chunk of the movie. Because from what I’ve heard it’s by far the best part of the movie.

Tyrell and Wallace made creations were more human than human, but in unintended ways. They wanted perfect soldiers, workers and companions. Whether flesh or hologram. But in this universe, they can’t create functioning intelligence without consciousness and a desire for self-determination. This is the driving point for conflict in the films. Much like Roy, Joi ascended to have self determination. Maybe not on the same level as a naturally born human, but certainly beyond their original programming. I firmly believe Joi’s intelligence and personality were a real individual consciousness, it just didn’t have a corporeal form. Was Joi human? No. Was she real? Look at K’s face when she’s gone. Look at Love’s face when she realizes she can use Joi to hurt K. She has very real interactions and consequences for other characters. Listen to her final words. What does Wallace care if a product’s owner dies? The product has been sold. Wallace literally kills his own creation without emotion and when he tries using emotions against Deckhard it backfires spectacularly. Wallace doesn’t understand emotions and wouldn’t install them in a product. K was also a product designed without emotions. He routinely had to pass baseline tests to ensure he remains emotionless. But he gains emotions. Joi’s first words are trivia and trivial, but her last words are pleading for another’s life and telling K she loves him.

Stupid and illogical. As soon as they saw what Calvin did to the doctor and then the mouse, it should have been blindingly obvious that Rory needed to get out of there ASAP b/c that thing was DANGEROUS. The fact that he stayed in there to fight the thing was so obviously dumb and senseless because once Rory was out they could have locked the thing in the lab. And the way Jake Gyllenhal's character reacts at 02:13 as Rory is getting killed is so not believable and not in line with how a person would act witnessing a brutal death.

This was such a heavy-handed explanation of what the original was trying to explain and it comes across as subtly as a sledgehammer to the face. The original Motoko had depth because she accepted that there was a lack of certainty in her ghost and her purpose and sought greater experience because of it; this is why the government project 2501 merging with her was an attractive prospect. It gave her metahuman conscienceness while solidifying her desire to know her ghost was real. This movie however has bogged it down to mankind evil and corrupt and machines are people too. Ghost in the shell was always way more complicated than that.
@TopSpeedKertus15 күн бұрын
Ya dude, this movie really sucked the life out of the Puppet Master's philosophy from the first film. Motoko's inability to fully realize the certainty she desires and instead having to accept an alternate definition of life that encompasses artificial intelligence is what made the original so compelling, not to mention relevant.
