Boys you need to block that fuckin idiot who says we're the lowest common denominator . We're the most honest fans in the world its why we all tune into this channel because its honest . At one pt, Lop was screaming his head off so loud, on TV. you could hear some ppl in the crowd say, "What the hell is he yelling for," and, "he hasnt a clue". I had to lol at some of that. The boos overpowered at the end. If Sully knows not what that means, which we know he does, Im living in a hut in the woods the rest of my days.

Get heeere get heeeya. Upton Park is a state of mind over here. Watched West Ham on the TV playing in Upton since 2006-07, late bloomer. Fell in love immediately. Got a funny story about the movie associations. Was with an ex at the time, looking at apartments in the Bronx, places where students shared a house. We are getting a tour of the apartment from a seedy landlord who said outright "we have no rats, no cockroaches" (no sooner, we saw roaches the size of squirrels). Coming into the apartment, met two gentlemen from the UK. Not sure whereabouts, had cockney accents so its possible these guys were East End. Nice fellas, hooked me and the ex up with endless beers that they were starting since the morning (I dont drink now, havent in 11 yrs). I hear on the television these guys watching a movie where it sounded like there was fighting, but I came in and saw Elijah Woods on the screen, thinking, "Ok, what the hell is this?" By this time, three other mates who were living in NYC going to school stopped by with even more beers. These guys sat down and watched the movie. The sounds of these guys half laughing but entertained had me asking, "What's this movie?" "Ah, its kinda hard to explain- it's like Fight Club, but around the football". Im ask, "Oh, they like fight at tailgating for the Jets or Bills or something?" "Nah, sit down and watch it." I did. And hung with these dudes drinking and watching it w/the gf at the time. Then, these guys finish a 30 rack of beer in a matter of maybe fifteen minutes, shotgunning, the whole bit. Had a blast. My introduction to that movie was from a group of kids that were West Ham fans in NYC going to school. Wish I could thank them. I went home, researched this odd movie that had the Hobbit standing his ground lol. Meanwhile, I look up online, "Elijah Wood, fight club, West Ham." Up pops the Thames documentary from 1984 with the Warriors song as the intro. Then, Andy Swallow when he was 17-18 comes on and explains what I have been watching. I think, "These guys must really love West Ham, let me see them." First game, I watched West Ham vs Everton, a 2-2 draw. As a basketball player by birth, family all bball born and raised, played youth AAU, or the East Coast division, and I could shoot from long range (landed one from half court for the hell of it) vs a team in New Jersey after raining 6 threes, and a layup. In our community, that was the way to college, playing outdoors in the parks under the lights, throwing elbows at summer league, playing for schools. I did damage on that court. At that time, I didnt realize while the two have similarities, the game of football is about the WHOLE table, the whole game, has the same triangulars, same type of weaves, throw-ins a lot like basketball, set pieces being like when one boxes out in the middle and tries to dominate on the rebound or a point boxing people out in the middle. Similar, but unlike the end of a basketball game at 80 to 78, or 110 points, the win itself moved the team up. Not the team comparatively on a table with other results. Had friends who showed me the position numbering, the tactics, and told me, "Why not watch these guys, or these guys". Nope. Wouldnt budge. Was homeless, in settings where access was limited, and I just followed. West Ham taught me football, even if it was questionable at times. And it made me love the sport. But, Ive been humbled many times in my ill-informed Yankness. It took me about six-years to understand the whole game, and I just followed. Something called to me. Something about West Ham clicked in how I felt in my corner of the earth. If a guy named Trevor is reading this, thank you for showing me Green St, because I never wouldve found West Ham had an ex not been looking for an apartment in the BXNY. Nothing like listening to Big Pun and hanging with proper lads, and I didnt even know it. Following West Ham, saw what I could of Upton, and it was like watching a fortress of intense and unwavering support, some chants the likes of which I had never heard, and the same DNA from my little city of standing against the odds. "Why do you like West Ham," so many people ask. "Has to be those films." "Well, yeah, but I like West Ham, its what speaks to me, I relate," and a crew of friends started watching West Ham with me, and we would get mad as hell if we lost. Im a late bloomer, misunderstand things at times, but know in my heart no one can make me not be West Ham. No one on the planet could make me stop. That's why this is tough with Lop. I've seen ups and downs, and the underdog moments where West Ham would pull a rabbit out the hat, I got to experience from afar. I cried my heart out to games when we would win against the odds, and would get angry/anticipatory of the next game if we lost. Neighbors on Sunday morning, when I was living in Section 8 housing over here, would think I was losing my mind every Sat AM or Sunday kickoff, because I would be yelling my head off, holding my hands in prayer at clench moments, objects flying in the apartment, holes punched in a door. Now, my fiance loves West Ham, and we share those moments, minus me throwing the remote yelling obscenities at the TV, getting hype when someone would get creamed with a tackle, had panic attacks anticipating games. As far as Im concerned, I will always be an Upton Park Loyalist from the states, the Chicken Run. We're not the North Bank. We're not the South Bank. We are the WEST SIDE UPTON PARK! Through the toughest times, had West Ham to look forward to, whether getting phoned results, listening to a radio on the West Ham app, or pirating it on janky cable, I followed. I still and always will follow. I have a West Ham tat on my heart from a place called Ironworks. Someone needs to take it from me, and even then, it's never going to leave who I am. West Ham chose me as a die hard Iron, in a weird way, and I chose it forever. COYI ⚒️

Oh Jay. I have so many good memories. Upton park going as a kid with my dad and my brother. Especially under the lights. Atmosphere was amazing. Guide down Upton park station The atmosphere smelling burgers Vans Just. Brilliant. I'll ring you next Friday and tell you a good memory. Upton park Will never forget Upton park Stay in my memory Forever ⚒️❤️

Nice one chaps nothing like being kept up to date with a laugh. With the latest news at West Ham being as shitty as it is i’d much rather hear it like this at least it made me laugh and that ain’t easy in the fist hour of waking i tell ya. Keep it up chaps ⚒⚒
