Carbon copy is my all time favorite pedal. I love thes decay it produces and the slapback tone is absolute gold. I want to get a second delay so i can run one with a long trail and one as a slapback. Just don't know if i should get another carbon copy (silver 10th anniversary) or a boss dm2w

Is there a way to turn off the effect (similar to a bypass foot switch) and still have trails? As a guitar player, I’d want to stop the effect and use other guitar effects on the pedalboard. Not sure if Cosmos is capable of thisS
@delaydude
@delaydude Ай бұрын
Yes, you can turn of the recording buffer. The loop repeats (depending on the feedback setting) ore fades out, like a delay. With a lower feedback setting and disengaged recording buffer, the effect is turned off.

The plugin operates solely in the digital domain. The pedal converts the input signal to digital, dsp is applied, and is converted back to analog on the output. Adjustments like gain and volume don't work the same way as analog. Gain (trim) and digital volume is adjusted by manipulating the bit rate. On the pedal, anything analog is adjusted by varying the signal level. The difference isn't hardware vs software because the pedal also has software. Its more analog vs digital because that's the main difference between the 2. Also, if you compare the vst to a different pedal, you'll get different results.

Im now upgrading my current delay pedal the Mooer Reecho which I've had for about 4 years. I was going straight for the DD8 but now i feel confident in the DD7s overall tone, body, and warmth for my sound. Amazing video Lad!

Not trying to be a smart ass, but the youtube digital compression makes it impossible for us viewers to hear what you hear. I wanted to hear your opinion. The video is pretty much useless. I appreciate you taking the time to make it with good intentions, but it just does no good.
@delaydude

As I said before: If you record your guitar with a compressor pedal, it´s compressed, too. Every music, that we hear, is compressed. On youtube, spotify, radio, smartphones, cd, tv ... . If you want to compare these pedals, just listen to them in this video and hear the difference 😀 They are all compressed to the same extend by youtube. 😉

Hello, with feedback below noon can it be used as a delay in some of its algorithms? Thank you
@delaydude

Exactly! With lower feedback settings, the loops decay. If you set the feedback low enough, it´s like a delay. Works great!

I really appreciate your way of exploring pedals. I'd like to have your advice: is it better to put Onward before or after Mood MKII? Thanks again for your valuable videos.
@delaydude
@delaydude Ай бұрын
Thank you very much! I prefer, to put the Onward before the Mood MKII. I use the MISO mode and use both pedals in stereo. The Onward can catch the freeze and glitches better, when it´s first in the signal chain and the Mood can capture the sounds of the Onward and add some nice effects to it. With some loops of the Mood, it´s always possible to add some freeze sounds to it with the Onward. To me, this is the perfect combination!

Thanks for making this - I have tried dozens of vst plugins to try and match the sound of my Timeline pedal and nothing comes close to the beautiful yet subtle saturation and destruction of the Strymon algorithms for tape emulation. May just need to get the VST, too...

TR is cleaner and has oodles more options even compared to the DOD's 9 dials and 4 switches. But I prefer the repeat-mutation and musicality of the DOD, and do not like the feature-cramming CB does in a pedal form-factor. Too eurorack-ish and borderline-microscopic, aesthetically. A pedal is for stepping on, and giving you that thing you expect it to do. Versatility is not always the top virtue; its the execution and reliability of "the musical thing" that I listen for and decide on.

Sorry, but this delay won't work for professional guitarists. Line 6 missed the whole point of how delays are used to fatten up a guitar sound
@portratratra
@portratratra Ай бұрын
Absolute top guitarists like Bill Frisell and Jeff Parker use it to this day. I think it would be pretty hard to find a professional guitarist who would have any issue recording with this pedal. It being large and fragile is the problem, not its capabilities as a delay pedal.

I sold off most of my pedals about 10 years ago and only kept a few favourites. Most of the ones I sold were cool but I dont really miss them. The AD-9 however (together with MXR Dist II and PN-2) I do miss. I had 3 or 4 different original AD-9s and they all sounded great (and the same to my ears although I never A/B:ed any of them). Now Im starting to feel I need to get an AD-9 again but the originals have gotten too expensive for me to get now so Im asking does the reissue sound as good? I know theres also an AD-9 Pro from Maxon with longer delay time.
