You Sir, are are a gentleman and a scholar. A gift from God I'd say. This video is what enabled me to complete the process of fixing my wife's Pilot. She is over the moon and I'd say she's pretty much enamored with me this evening 😁. I cannot thank you enough 🙏

They fail because they are engineered to fail. They could have kept using the brass core key and you wouldn’t have this problem but then the dealers couldn’t charge to repair it. I have no doubt all the manufacturers design things to fail.

Great video on how to get the key cylinder out of the housing assembly. That drill bit tip works great to get the roll pin out. The other tip with the pick tool worked great too. I just remove the tumblers and the springs and put the key cylinder back together. It still has the chip in the key. You still can’t start it without the key. It’s just as secure as push button start now. The other feature now, You can take the key out and leave the engine run and lock the doors and go in the store. I took mine apart before it actually totally screwed up. The key cylinder was starting to not want to turn. I figured that was my two minute warning I better fix it before it leaves me sit somewhere.

Hi, I have a 2008 Honda element I put lube into the key slot. The key starts just fine my problem was that the fob no longer worked. I tried to program the fob like shown on KZbin and it still wouldn’t work. Any insight what my next step should be would be appreciated. Thanks

Can you show exactly where to drill behind the electric switch, To unlock the steering wheel locking blade without removing housing? I have my Ridgeline stuck on the side of the road, trying you do the repair.

Thank you SO MUCH, sir. 16:30 was my issue, this is the second time I change the ignition switch and got blocked again. The first time I had the car to the locksmith thinking it was the lock cylinder, but not sure how the ignition switch was related with the failure, at the point that I thought it was coincidence. Obviously, the folks from the locksmith did not say what the actual problem was. The second time it got blocked I was so mad, it could not be a coincidence anymore, your video saved me money.

Excellent video Thank You. As others have said, thank you for informing of certain housing issue where steering lock stud needs depressing @15:30. I could have made the same mistake even with a replacement part that I would not need to buy. (Now have to guess where to drill a hole and try hold down while in car, or remove the break-off bolt and related effort)

After watching this video I googled his name and contacted him. I sent my lock to him and he rebuilt it and cut a new key. Often the old key won’t work with the new wafers. I got it back and installed it and It works great. I cannot say enough about his great service. The cost was 1/4 of what a new lock set would have been installed and programmed by a shop.

I do have a question. Did you make a video showing which way the wafers went into each slot...i.e. top/bottom or left side/right side. Honda just rebuilt my ignition for nearly $1000.00 Canadian. It just sounds ridiculous to me now that I've watched a few KZbin videos after the fact.

Where is the code for a 08 civic ignition key cylinder. Thank u
@madelinenajarian4043 Жыл бұрын
If your talking about the key code it will be on the trunk lock or the little lock by the drivers floor board or on the outside of the ignition cylinder.
