Thanks so much for the kind words. It takes about 24 hours, sometimes less.

I use the (pack of two) Dollar Tree kitchen cutting mats to clean my paint brushes before totally washing out the acrylic paint. I hate wasting paint. Lol. Just brush back and forth quickly and keep on painting. Before you know it you have a beautiful palate of mixed colored paint skins made easily. And these variations make gorgeous florals. Hope that made sense.😊

That is a brilliant idea! What a wonderful way to get easy paint skins!

I went to Alisha's channel and checked out her videos. She is using a medicine dispensing syringe to suspend the water droplets on 100% watercolor paper. I also noticed that in one of her videos that the brush she was using to add the black color to the water droplets was slightly stiff and gummy looking of which is indicative of India ink. India ink will do a beautiful explosion when dropped into water onto cotton watercolor paper just like watercolors do. FYI- The syringe is the same king of syringe that pharmacies or veterinarians give you to administer medicines that are in liquid suspension form. I believe that Amazon sells the syringes.

Could you use PVA glue instead of matte medium?

Interesting idea ! I doubt I would ever have thought of it. I'm thinking I have a small soldering tool I haven't used in years that might work like the wood burning tool. Guess I'll need to dig it out and try it.
@catrains.artist4 күн бұрын
It's definitely worth experimenting with, it's such a fun collage technique for the art "toolbox" 😊
@AliceGoesNomad6 күн бұрын
✨💖✨ Great idea! I'll definitely be using my incense for this. If I had a wood burner (or maybe a soldering iron?) I'd try 'cutting' rough burnt edged shapes and maybe the edges of sheets of paper for a tattered map look. But I'm downsizing thus resisting buying more supplies for now.
@catrains.artist4 күн бұрын
Hope you have a blast! If you want to try more wide burned edged, you can run a lighter alongside the edge of the paper and tamp it out as soon as it lights and it will create wavy "rough" edges burned. Alternatively, if you have a heat gun you can hold that to the edge until it lightly burns the edge of the page. It may take some experimenting but those are some other options as well!
