Saturated fat is too broad a definition to demonize, for example an egg is mostly saturated fat but its composed of good saturated fats, as for butter aswell.
@JayZuma-wr1prАй бұрын
BS - Saturated fats are GREAT - Seed oils like sunflower oil and Canola oil will give you problems like inflammation, worsening Arthritis and causing heart issues and contributing to Obesity.

Observational studies in India show a dramatic increase in heart disease when they move away from saturated cooking oils to unsaturated cooking oils. There are also studies that show a significant reduction in heart disease in populations high in omega 3, which is not possible if you are primarily consuming seed oils. Any doctor can cherry pick studies that can confirm their bias, in this case a mainstream MD walking the corporate line.

The majority of the studies listed have no affiliation to industry. In fact, they are metanalysis which are summation of a number of randomized control trials.

There are videos out there with legit doctors talking about how seed oils are even worse for people than high levels of sugar. Those posting content to the contrary are promoting misinformation that can be harmful to people. No ethics whatsoever, shameful.

Most of our regulatory agencies are where funding for "studies" actually comes from, and they can essentially make any study say whatever they want it to. They've lied so many times, esp during Covid, that they deserve zero credibility or trust. I switched to a gluten free diet more than a decade ago per the advice of a well researched doctor, to address gut issues I had, and it did not help much. But when I heard about seed oils and started eliminated them from my diet, everything cleared up, including a chronic sinus issue I had, and skin issues (which are sign of inflammation). I'll trust someone like Dr Eric Berg over what some FDA or NIH funded "study" says. I'm living proof that eliminating seed oils has great benefits. I am a personal trainer with an extensive background in nutrition, and have listened to countless people talk about the inflammatory effects of seed oils. I mean look at the health of the population, you want to make a case that what people are eating is healthy? Give me a break.

Either way, vegetable oil was originally created and used as machine and industrial lubricant. In order to create a higher demand to increase sales it was then marketed to the public as a replacement for animal fats in food. Actually it was first marketed to farmers to replace the food for livestock in order to fatten them up faster, which it did but the draw back was animals were dying younger and getting diseases earlier on. I think i'll stick with what my ancestors cooked with and ate (butter/tallow) and pass on a failed machine lubricant oil.

I'm a certified personal trainer with an extensive background in nutrition. I've lived the experience that eliminating seed oils has great benefits, it was literally the last thing that I tried after years of a gluten free diet without great results. Not only did my digestion improve massively, so did my skin - which is a telltale sign of inflammation reduction. I used to think that butter, ghee, or lard were bad, but no longer. Anyway your comment is spot on.

conspiracy here, to frame this, 15 years ago i learned water powered cars were possible, they never came thru bc oir infrastructure is oil, yet today i see water powered stoves, were so dependant on seed oils that we cant drop them its up tp us as consumors to not buy it up
@HolisticHealthCoachBranbo4 ай бұрын
Smh...another mainstream mouthpiece promoting misinformation. Look bud, you're an M.D. who was taught essentially nothing about nutrition by the pharmaceutical industry funded school you attended. Try spending at least a full year or more doing your own independent research on holistic health before jumping to conclusions instead of just quickly referencing a few weak studies that support your confirmation bias. Since you're not taught to see the body as one synergistic unit, but instead as separate systems, it's hard for you to see the bigger picture. I'm not just trying to criticize you, but quite frankly, it's pretty annoying how far behind the curve you are on this issue. People have suffered far too much for far too long to still have this sort of harmful information pushed on them by improperly trained health professionals without any pushback. Those of us who have spent our entire lives deep diving into all the studies, learning, unlearning, & relearning while sifting through every piece of information available know the truth & we're fighting hard to finally make the truth known. I recommend you read the book, "Rockefeller Medicine Men" as an introduction to the truth. From there, I'd watch the documentary titled, "The History of Medicine: How Healthcare Became Sickcare" by Dr. Rick Kirchner N.D. Anyway, here's a few indisputable facts regarding seed oils: 1. Seed oils are already highly oxidized by the time they make it to store shelves. These free radicals will create inflammation in the body. 2. Cooking with seed oils creates further oxidation. 3. Many of our chronic health conditions that exist in the modern world were virtually non-existent before the introduction of seed oils (among other things) into the human diet. 4. Humans ate large amounts of saturated fats & cholesterol until the early 1900's without suffering from cardiovascular diseases. In fact, before the introduction of crisco into the human diet, there was not a single reported case of a heart attack in the medical literature worldwide. 5. Seed oils are an ultra-processed food, which is completely unnatural & inherently bad for us no matter how you spin it. Simple logic & reason tells you that eating something that doesn't exist in nature, requires a factory with loads of sophisticated machinery & synthetic chemicals to create, & was never even part of the human diet until the last 100 years or so, surely cannot be good for us. I mean, consuming a single bottle of seed oil floods your body with more polyunsaturated plant fats than one could reasonably consume in a lifetime eating whole plant foods. We should always refer to nature when searching for the truth as nature cannot lie; there's no data that can be skewed, no bias to be found...it's simply an honest record of what is & is not. The fact that unsaturated fats were naturally a minuscule part of our diets before we created the advanced technology to extract plant oils & begin consuming them in mass tells you everything you need to know. Our bodies are best built from stable saturated fats & cholesterol (arguably one of the most important nutrients & a natural ANTIOXIDANT), whilst cells made from weak & unstable polyunsaturated fats are much more prone to oxidation & disease of every kind. Finally, to end this rant, i hope I've left you with some food for thought, Doc. I hope you'll continue to learn & eventually see the truth someday.

I’ll eat 2 cans of those by themselves on a 2 hour shift. The boneless ones have a very “dry” texture despite being canned in olive oil compared to the whole ones with the skin on. I still eat the skinless ones since Costco sells them by the pack.

Looks delicious and obviously pretty healthy, although boneless/skinless means you’re missing a ton of the benefits of sardines, plus water-packed sardines are better because the olive oil is usually really low quality Still looks like a dope lunch keep it up

Hmmmm.. The first study appears to be a select group of other studies. I can't determine the absolute risk vs relative risk but I recognize some of the names like Jupiter and Aspen where the absolute risk is insignificant while the relative risk is misleading. Why isn't Framingham and Honolulu included in those stats? The second study says "All-cause mortality was lower in the groups with TC or LDL-C above the recommended levels. " which doesn't help make your case. The third study says Chinese people with low LDL-C have more dementia, Fire engines don't cause fires just like LDL-C doesn't cause CVD. Glycocalyx loss leads to damaged endothelium which calls out the LDL-C to do repairs and that is where plaque comes from. Eat less sugar and stop smoking. I believe Statins are a scam until proven otherwise. These studies don't do that.
